Token

A token can mean a lot of things - from Haymitch's expiriance, not all of them mean something good. So when Effie bring up the idea of them all having golden tokens as a team this quarter quell - he feels in his heart how bad this idea is. But would it be bad if he actually want to except this token?

A letter which now sits in his bedside drawer. A letter which he rereads every year on their wedding anniversary, thankful that the love of his life survived the torture and the trial.

To be honest, I think TEAM12 will have a quiet moment of mourning rather than celebrating Haymitch's bday(bc it was reaping day). But I drew this with the HOPE that after a long time has passed and Willow is born, finally everyone will be able to live better lives and spend happy times with their family.

notes: this fic originally had a timeline but in my mind they were on and off for so many years, this could’ve been at many points in time. after a while they would both lose track and be in denial about how long this has gone on let’s be honest.
