hi everyone, i know it’s been quite a while.

i don’t even remember how to use the app/site well enough to find when the last time i posted a fic was (like, where did the time stamps go?!)

i bet this won’t come as much of a surprise to anyone who’s been following me for a while because i clearly went MIA for a few years. just wanted to pop back in and clarify a few things and let yall know i am alive and well 🫶🏻

i have, unfortunately, moved on from my ff writing era of my life. i’ve seen all your messages of support and reactions to my writing and constantly see the reposts and recs made in my email inbox, and i cherish each and every one of them and do miss yall very often. i am currently now working and traveling full time, and am just past the era in which i used to absolutely love bts/kpop. i’m actually now an avid ao3 dramione reader 😂 and have devoted a lot of my time to getting physically/emotionally healthier, furthering my career, and just pouring love into myself and everyone around me 🤌🏻

DO YOU EVEN LIKE BTS ANYMORE

i still do love/listen to bts, but i’ve also been feeling like i’ve outgrown them a bit and no longer actively read bts fics myself 🥹 but to sometimes come back to my own blog and my homepage to see that other writers are still here and dedicated makes me feel so giddy and happy for them. watching bts grow from their boy in luv era when i first became a fan to the degree they’re at now and even when i stopped actively writing (probably when they started breaking into the US/english lyrics, or covid era) was such a big life landmark for me, and i will always cherish them in my heart for that. i will also always cherish this blog, that kept me actively writing, throughout uni, and actively creating content anonymously, for helping me through some hard times emotionally, physically, and mentally.

i don’t think i’ll be updating any of my wips: any writer out there who feels inclined to continue the stories, i give you full permission (pls don’t plagiarize!) and would hope that you drop a quick msg in my inbox when you post so i can read them (better than tags!) 🥰 would also be happy to share where i intended a lot of my fics to go plot-wise. i also deem it would be a disservice to a lot of you for me to release unfinished drafts, but im happy to share that as well to anyone who wants to pick it up, or just are curious where the plots went (lmk if ur into that?)

→ historical/royal!au, marriagecontract!au, based off the kdrama 100 days My Prince; → You forge a marriage contract with the strangely speaking man who suddenly stumbled into your town with memory loss, but little do you know that he’s actually the lost Crown Prince, and a lot can happen between a married man and woman in one year. 

→ genres: lots of fluff/plot development, a tiny bit of angst, and a little smut → 15k words | part 1| part 2 | fin.

A/N: I went on a writing binge the past couple days and I was able to finish this monster fic, and wanted to get it out for you guys so you can read during quarantine! I usually tend to write really angsty and darker fics, so I hope that the fluff in this one is really refreshing :) 

“No!” You scream, flailing your arms as the officials try to drag you into the waiting carriage. “I won’t marry him! I can’t!” 

The matchmaker looks wistfully at you as you struggle. “Please! Y/n, he is rich! He’ll pay for your debt, and you’ll avoid a punishment! I’m sure that your fiancee, ‘Jungkook’ that you speak of, doesn’t even exist! You have no one else! Just go!” 

You struggle, putting up quite a fight with the two men gripping either of your arms. “Never!” You scream, turning to bite one on his arm. He yelps and lets you go, and when his partner sees that you bit him, he throws you onto the ground, drawing his sword and whipping it at your neck. 

He huffs, “You bitch, you know that it’s the King’s decree that all women must be wed by tonight. This is your last chance to survive. Your punishment may be death, and if you want to meet that end, so be it!” 

You glare up at him, blowing the hair that fell out of your bun out of your face, “So do it! Kill me! I’d rather die than be married off to someone who’s older than my father! He’s a pig!”

Hi, I just discovered your blog and read "give and take". I saw on your master list that it is "discontinued". I just wanted to ask what it means because my english isnt the best. I hope this is not annoying

Hi everyone, I know its been a really long time since I’ve been active at all on this site, but I wanted to come on and answer this question, since I have hundreds others just like this sitting in my inbox :) This isn’t annoying! I understand your curiosity. 

I started Give and Take about 2 years ago when my blog started finally gaining some traction, and I wrote those couple of chapters on a whim. But the more I continued into the story the more “dragged” it felt(?) and I was no longer happy with the direction the story was going or my attitude regarding writing the following chapters. If you’ve noticed, ever since then, I’ve sort of abandoned any fics that are longer than 1-2 parts, and if a story has any parts longer than 2 parts, they’re usually some convoluted collection of short stories/drabbles that fit into a bigger picture. 

I’ve discovered through trial and error (unfortunately) that this is the method that works best for my writing style and my stamina, as I have a really hard time finishing long-winded stories, and don’t have the time or the stamina to be able to map them out and write them as elaborately as I’d like to. Therefore, I ask for everyone’s understanding, that I abandoned Give and Take not for any other reason than for my own well-being as a writer and as a fan! 

I understand that this concept was super cool and a lot of my followers have enjoyed this story, so it is still up and floating around on my blog for anyone to read and share if they’d like, but I don’t think I’ll be updating this story for a while, if ever. I invite any followers, readers, or fellow writers out there to go ahead and try adopting this story if they’d like! No credit necessary, although you can feel free to tag me because I’d love to give it a read and see how you’ve spun this idea into a totally new creative story! 

I’m currently struggling to find the time and the energy to write after starting a new, stressful, full-time job. Currently, I only go on tumblr very rarely, and if I do, it’s really only to briefly scroll through my notifications or read a few fics here and there not even in the bts/kpop fandom anymore.

I’m not going to go as far as to say that I’m going to stop writing or that I’m going to close this blog, because I love this space that I’ve created for myself and often come back to just browse through and smile at the attached memories. But otherwise, please be patient with me as I deal with this and figure out a way to maneuver myself back home to the fandom! And please don’t be angry with me if I don’t :( 

But I still love you guys and this blog itself probably won’t be going anywhere for a while!

Drabble Game Prompt 18. “I shouldn’t be in love with you.”

→ hanahaki disease!au, extreme angst → 4k words (oneshot) → what happens when the surgery doesn’t work?

A/N: WOAH ok…I realized after writing this that this deserves a story talk so please read that! I hope my first Hoseok story turned out okay :) 

The lights are piercing, shining too bright for a godless day like this. The nurses wheel you into a different ward that shares the same kind of lights, and you can see in the swinging doorway the faces of your close friends and family as they smile tearfully at your weak body atop of the gurney. 

But the sight of him makes your heart clench, waving at you and hugging your mom close as he meets your gaze from a few feet away, and the overwhelming need to throw up comes again. The bitter taste of the petals are already at the back of your throat. But you swallow it down, tears pricking your eyes as you calm down your breathing and focus on the sharp smell of alcohol that fills the surgery ward.

The nurse smiles at you from under her mask, her eyes crinkling as she stops the gurney and begins preparing her tools. “It’ll be over before you even know it. You’re very brave to be doing this procedure.” You nod, as she prepares the anesthesia and puts a mask over your mouth. 

“Alright, honey, can you count backwards from twenty please?” Other doctors and surgeons fill the room, and you can see on the second floor, that a few other doctors stand over the glass paneled room, watching.

You nod, and she smiles. 

“20, 19, 18, 17, 16,” you begin, faltering as you count, “15…14…13…”

And everything goes black, the taste of flowers still bitter at the back of your throat.

i just read ur writing tips and wow that really helped like a LOT. ive been a "writer" ever since mid school and i only got to fanfics way back on 2017-ish?? that time i only read on wp then i discovered ao3 and tumblr. so the first few writers that I've known here are prolixitae, vankoya, versigny, btssmutgalore, jungblue and you!!! reading all of the good stuff from here rlly pushed me to write fics myself so thank your for the inspo and i hope ur great 💓

What is your ideal setting for focusing on your writing?

a quiet place with a desk and a comfy chair where my back is facing the wall so no one can see my screen but me lol. i really hate it when other people can see my screen.

What is your favorite genre to write?

romance + action (?) or maybe drama is more appropriate. i just really like it when in the end everything clicks together and you go a-ha! anyway, growing up i loved reading the Alex Rider series so i kinda like those type of plots. like side-romance, main action-adventure-drama plot. every day i think about Scorpia… the best book in the alex rider series seriously.

Do you prefer to write on paper or digitally?

depends what type of writing i’m doing i guess… if it’s fics then definitely digitally. if it’s notes and i want to retain the info, definitely paper. i also like writing out my thoughts on paper!

It’s the middle of the night and you suddenly wake up with an idea. What do you do?

i open up the tumblr app on my phone, type it out, and save it as a draft. this is so i can access it on desktop later lol. they’re always just quick bullet points or sentences that i hope i’ll be able to make sense of in the morning.

Who is your favorite person to write about?

jungkook! to me the boys are just actors playing a character in a story. but i feel like jungkook has a very versatile feel to him ya kno?

Have you ever written a book/story with more than 15 chapters (100K words)?

no haha. escape comes the closest at about 62k i think! maybe sweet saccharine might top that (when i finish it that is lol).

How often do you get ideas?

every day, all the time. my tumblr drafts are literally a mess of just me dumping all my fic ideas. they come from reading articles, hearing my friends (and strangers) talk, movies, shows, documentaries, the news, irl experiences, just everything.

Do you ever get an idea that you really like, but just can’t seem to finish?

um, have you seen my WIPs list??? too many bro. i have a fic idea from like 3 years ago that i haven’t completed. it’s a spy fic and i made a cipher for the fic… and i think it’ll be really fun! (but you know me, it takes ages for me to write anything).

What is your least favorite plot?

i too am not a fan of yandere fics… also, just anything where the relationship is super toxic. i’m not into that. or where they fall in love after one day or something. i’m on that slow burn train guys. choo choo no superficial surface-level love in this house!!!

Tips on creating fun fanfic headers!

i had so much fun writing the fanfic writing tips yesterday and i got a few more questions about header-making, and so i decided to make one more of these! i hope these tips help somebody out there! hope you enjoy :) 

p.s. these tips won’t require any hard editing skills or photoshop skills, nor any expensive tablets/apps! 

typically i spend around ~5-10 min creating one header, and that’s either after i think of/finish a fic. i have so much fun doing it and sharing it with you that i figured i’d share how i do it!

disclaimer: a lot of the things i bring up are just from personal experience as a writer on this site, what my followers have told me they appreciate, and what i tend to look for when im looking for fics to read! If you don’t like these tips then pls move on :) 

although i’ll mention them, i’m also not going to be focusing on cliche tips like “write for yourself” or “grammar issues” cause those are pretty obvious!

List of Vocal Sounds for Smut

I present to you a - probably quite incomplete, I’m sure I’m missing a lot of speech sounds - reference list and a bit of a guideline for the different ways one can describe the sounds your characters make whilst writing smut. I’ll definitely be referring to it, because I sometimes get stuck on exactly how to describe a particular noise. (aka, “he can’t groan again, he just groaned last paragraph”)

Sounds (noun, both independently and describing speech): breath/breathe, gasp, moan, groan, pant, whimper, whine, shout, yelp, hiss, grunt, cry, scream, shriek, sob, growl, curse, sound, sigh, hum, noise, squeak, snarl, howl, roar, mewl, wail, choke, keen, purr

Sounds (noun, describing speech): rasp, husk, drawl, plea, murmur, whisper, beg

Descriptors (adjective): loud, hushed, quiet, low, high, high-pitched, little, tiny, soft, deep, unrestrained, restrained, strained, breathy, rough, sudden, short, drawn-out, sharp, harsh, hard, thick, smooth, thin, heavy, impassioned, insistent, hungry, passionate, repeated, filthy, debauched, sweet, slow, deliberate, guttural, languid, surprised, husky, distracted, happy, pleased, satisfied, wordless, cut-off, bitten-off, contented, hoarse, extended, long, depraved, aching, choked, strangled, broken, helpless, shuddering, shaky, trembling, urgent, needy, desperate, wanton, shattered, pained, eager

Combine a descriptor and a sound for best effect - for example, “needy moan,” “pleased hum,” or “sudden scream.” You can even use two: “low, rough grunt,” “sweet little cry,” “desperate, filthy noise,” as long as you don’t repeat a word that means the same thing, unless you really want to emphasize it. Avoiding repetition is pretty key here. You don’t usually want to say “hushed, quiet gasp” except on rare occasions when it’s very important how soft the sound was.

Use your own common sense, as well; some sounds and descriptors don’t generally work well together. “Deliberate shriek” probably wouldn’t work well, and neither would “languid grunt,” but again, this is all very situational - play around! Have fun.

Feel free to add to my lists, use for your reference or pass them around. It would be fun to see a randomized generator made, too, I’m just too lazy to do it myself. ;)

Reading through this post and @hayjeon and @bangtaninink were the first to come to mind, whenever I just wanna read something that I know will make me feel like I’m wrapped in comfort, I raid their masterlists, specifically their Yoongi and Kook stories.

More recently, I’m absolutely LOVING @jungshookz, her writing is peak comedy, no matter the genre, there’s always several moments that make me snort with laughter. Anytime I need a fun uplifting fic, I turn to her.

And I can’t post this without mentioning the person I reblogged it from. Honestly there are no words for me to adequately describe just how enamored I am with the world that @gukslut has created with Rattled. I will virtually scream until the demise of tumblr how fanfuckingtastic Rattled is.

I know there are a lot of authors that have fed me wonderful stories over my near decade on this hellsite that I’m missing, and I will try to add them as I remember them.

Hellooooo I just came here to say that in this quarantine I've been constantly rereading your Hades Yoongi series because it's really one of my favorites, I love everything about it honestly, you've done such a beautiful work with it and I can't wait to read more, please take care and be safe!!!

Oh gosh this couple srsly gives me all the feels. I absolutely love writing for them because they have this subtle angsty and sexual tension that I literally live for. I am a bit stuck though, since I’ve written so many dravbles so far, on what part of their relationship I should explore next. Cause I already did how they met, their first kiss/time, etc.
