Finally able to get back to these ladies! (I was VERY optimistic about what I’d be able to get done with a newborn around 😅).

“The Golden Compass” captured my imagination immediately: a mysterious artifact, disappearing children, a race of Polar Bear warriors, and who WOULDN’T want a literal animal soul mate for life?? Lyra Belacqua’s stubborn, no-nonsense search for truth is definitely a literary adventure worth going on, and a favorite of mine! ✨🐻‍❄️🌌

Guys, this one was so fun: a commission for a crew of DnD players as their characters from a recent quest! Yup, there’s an otter familiar with a top hat and monocle. Uh huh, that is in fact an older “Frizz” from The Magic Schoolbus... and wait, is that halfling holding an ice cream sandwich? Why yes, yes he is... 😆⚔️🛡🎲

This was such a fun piece to be a part of! Commissioned as a gift for this beautiful couple’s wedding, I just love the thoughtful details the clients asked for: to include their doggo, love for Disney (and more specifically a little Beauty & the Beast shoutout), wedding date... it’s honestly those personalized details that really make a piece! Big congrats to these two newlyweds! 💕🎉

A sweet memorial commission for this little pup’s family. It’s heartbreaking to lose an animal, but I hope this piece will help the happy memories of her live on in some small way 🐾

Okay so this one is a tiny cheat because... I’ve never actually read the books... 😬🤭 (I know, I know, don’t @ me! I’m getting to it!) but I fell so in love with this feisty, frizzy-haired, know-it-all through the films that it seemed wrong to not include her anyway. After all, Hermione is the very definition of a leading literary lady, wouldn’t you agree? ✨📚

Where all my Jane Austen fans at? 🙋🏻‍♀️📚 Elizabeth Bennet has been one of her most inspiring characters to me: outspoken, goes against the grain of society, but also one of the most fiercely loyal and loving ladies I’ve had the pleasure of reading about. “Pride & Prejudice” is truly a classic; an absolute literary treasure ✨

Well, #worldbookday seems like a great time to introduce a new series I’m working on: “Ladies of Literature”! It’s an idea I’ve been playing around with for awhile now, and I had to kick it off with my girl on fire: Katniss Everdeen 🔥 Man, I was hooked on the Hunger Games books from page one! Don’t you just love that feeling?

I’m planning to do about 7-8 of my personal favorite literary heroines; so who are you hoping makes the cut? 😉📚

I’ve had a passion for animals for as long as I can remember, and the devastating loss of wildlife in Australia has been weighing heavily on my heart. Almost a billion animals have been affected by the fires and millions have been estimated dead.

Seeing the images and footage of the bushfires over the past several months has been gut-wrenching, and I wanted to help in any small way that I could. So I created this piece as a hopeful tribute to our furry Aussie friends! Prints will be available for just $10 through my Etsy shop (link in bio) and 100% of the profits will be donated to WIRES Wildlife Rescue (www.wires.org.au) to help the animals suffering from this tragedy.

There are many talented artists, organizations, and crowdfunding campaigns doing their part to help with the loss, and I truly hope you would consider giving to ANY one of them! This is just my own personal contribution to the cause.

The fires may finally be waning, but the rescue and rehabilitation is ongoing! 🔥🌏🇦🇺🌱🐾

This teacher gift was such a fun commission to work on! I got to reinterpret this elementary school mascot and get creative with incorporating a “scholastic” theme (even included the school’s slogan)! I just adore when clients really give you the reins on project, don’t you? ✏️🍎📚

White ermines on the brain because guys... #hisdarkmaterials premieres tonight! 🙌🏻 I started reading these books for the first time this year (I know, late to the party) and was immediately captivated by this story! From the looks of the trailer, I really think HBO has a great chance of doing the trilogy justice and I 👏🏻 am 👏🏻 here👏🏻 for 👏🏻 it 👏🏻

I’d love to do a full illustration at some point, but for now you get my rough Pantalaimon sketches ✍🏻❄️ Can’t wait to see this cast brought to life in just a few more hours!

“No Zero, down boy... my, what a brilliant nose you have!” 👻🎃🐾

Ending the month with another Tim Burton favorite: Zero the ghost dog! Well, I got five in for the month, which isn’t awesome. But I think the quality of my inks are better than any of my previous years, which is definitely a win in my book! 🙌🏻 I still struggle with some really heavy handed lines, but I legitimately think I’m getting (a bit) better at this👍🏻
