I love the idea of keeping it a surprise. There are so few genuine surprises left in life, and I feel like that's one of the best ones. And please, milk Brandon's doting phase for everything it's worth. If he wants to get you one of your weird cravings at midnight, let him. Also yes. It's one of the few times you get to shamelessly play the pregnancy card. I'm sorry you're still dealing with the nausea, though. Hopefully you're getting close to the point where it starts easing up. I promise it'll all be worth it. And stop, that's so sweet. I would absolutely love for our kids to grow up together. I have no idea, a part of me wants to throw a big birthday, another part wants to keep it small, just family and close friends. I have to talk to Taylor about it. She's currently obsessed with those magna tiles and kinetic sand, have you seen those? It's messy but she's obsessed.
Next scan we can decide if we want to know or not so got a little more time to decide. Still so weird to hear the little heart beat. I'll keep that one in mind - so far nothing in the middle of the night. But I'm sure that's going to change going into the next trimester. I think I'm going to be playing that card as much as I can. He's going to get so annoyed. Even if we end up living in different cities - I'm sure that our kids are going to have a special bond. Lucky there's technology for that. And when they're older... I don't even want to think about what's going to do be available. You could go in the middle and do a medium sized party. A few friends from her swim class - your family and friends. Rent out a bounce house or something. Don't toddlers love those? I haven't but I'll be getting her tons of those.
your job is literally being a singer and you still forget song lyrics? i'm not judging you, i really can't judge you. i think the exact same thing would happen to me if i were a singer. i'm a busy guy, but i'm grateful for it because life would be incredibly boring if i had nothing to do. i feel like i have to keep moving all the time, otherwise things start to feel a bit monotonous. it's alright, though! i know you're busy with your career and spending a lot of your time making other people happy. brandon? i think i've spoken to him a few times before, he seems like a good person. it's nice to change the scenery every now and then, don't you think? dating someone outside of your industry can be refreshing because you end up learning things you probably never would have otherwise. by the way, how's alf doing? i'm really happy to hear things are good between you two now. it's always nice when people are able to heal, move forward and try something new, even if that something turns out to be friendship. a few more years? i'll wait.
Every singer forgets lyrics. It's part of the job. You know when you do something so often that you think you've done it? It's like that. Or sometimes the verses are just similar so you sing the wrong one. Oops. I feel you on the constantly moving thing. I don't think I know how to take proper breaks. Every time Paramore has gone on a hiatus - I've either been doing my own solo music or doing things for GDY. Sometimes both. He really is great - I'm sure that the two of you will become friends. Are you dating anyone at the moment? Alf is doing great. He was in dog school while I was on tour and learnt some more tricks. For an old boy - he's smart. Yeah, between my solo tour, preparing for a baby and making sure that Brandon doesn't have to set aside his career so that we can be a family - it's going to be full on. I'm gonna need a couple years, ha. Plus Zac has his own thing going, too and he's engaged. We're all doing our own things at the moment. So when we come back together... it's going to be a real creative blast.
That's true. Glad that exists now. I can pick my projects a little better and I'm sure that whoever I work with next will understand when the baby's here that I want to be there for you and the little one as much as I can. I don't doubt that we can make it work. Wait, you were thinking of doing that? I had no idea. You can still do that. It would be fun to see you suddenly show up in an animated movie or a video game or something. Thanks, babe. You're not going to sound shit at all, don't say that. Just be careful that you don't overwork yourself as your body will react to things differently now. But at least you'll get to tell all those stories to our little one when he or she is older. You can mention that you shared the stage together. Oh, are you going to be a real emotional mess from now on? Just kidding, I'll be ready for it. I'll happily rub your feet for you since you probably won't even be able to see them anymore at some point. Sorry, that was the last one. That just means they have a good appetite.
And I'm going to try and plan my tour a little, too so that it's not a crazy busy one. I could do night after night for the smaller tour. Lucky the American legs have a few more days in between each city... and newborns just sleep whenever they need to, really. I think the real challenge will come when the European leg comes around next year. But we can cross that bridge when we come to it. For now, we just do our best and hope that's enough. Yeah, when I didn't know what I was going to do with the whole music thing. I still didn't know I was going to go solo so had to think of something creative. I'm learning my bodies limits and resting where needed. Do you want to find out what we're having? The next scan we can do that. Yeah, probably. I've been seeing a few TikToks where people are my height and their partners are your height. Big ol' babies. My poor back. Going to have to get one of those belly bands. I wonder if people are going to realize that I'm pregnant or if they're just going to think that I'm super fucking bloated at the festival this weekend. Maybe it's both.
I heard you're gonna be a mom! Congratulations! Being a parent is the best thing that's ever happened to me, and I fully believe that'll be the case for you, too. How are you doing? Got any weird cravings yet? @hayleyfm
Thank you. I'm looking forward to the new adventure and I'm sure that I'm going to learn a lot about myself, ha. Got any tips for me? I don't think it's too weird of a craving because it's a normal thing to eat... I just don't usually eat a lot of it. This baby loves steak.
Hayley! What's this I hear you're going to be a mum? That's so exciting, congratulations! And how's tour been? Busy year for you! @hayleyfm
I am going to be a mom - not something that I expected to happen so soon. Thought it would have taken a lot longer to become pregnant but the universe knows what it's doing. It's all a little overwhelming but Brandon is being the best so I'm super grateful I get to do this journey with him. Now we just need to decide if we are going to find out the gender and if we want to do a baby shower. Which feels kind of impractical since we're going to be on the road a lot. Starting tour again in September so it'll be a fun balancing act with a new born. How are you doing?
A decade of Dye 🧡
The history of GDY is a love letter to every launch, every lesson, every backstage moment, and every person who has been part of this journey.
From day one you’ve been creating, experimenting, and growing right along side us, making GDY what it is today. 🤘
We couldn’t have done it without you. Here’s to the next decade! 🌈✨
2016 vs 2026 - ten years of gdy
Speaking of you performing - I've yet to attend one of your shows, and it's a fact that literally pains me, Hayley. I keep telling Brandon it needs to happen, but stars don't seem to align. It's for sure happening in August. Hold me to it, okay? But don't worry, I know how busy life on the road is, so I will talk to my people and get the movie to you, that way you and B can both watch.
Well, I tend to go for the badass characters, if I'm honest. I love a woman who can be confident, and kick major ass. I also love to goof off, and someone mentioned dressing up like one of my co-stars, so I might show up as the Beast from Beauty and the Beast.
If you can come to any of my shows for the next tour... I would love to have you there. And I'm sure Brandon would, too. He's going to be at as many shows as he can. Life is going to be crazy busy but I'm excited to step into the next chapter and everything that it has to offer. It's going to be amazing. You could dress as literally any female super hero... or even anti-hero. One of your co-stars was Beast? Could mix the two - Harley Quinn x Beast. Imagine him wearing a 'Daddy's little monster' shirt. Hilarious.
i just have to say, i love paramore so much. your music has been such an inspiration for creating my music, and definitely for me as a person. how does it feel knowing songs that you've created years ago are still inspiring people and express themselves? @hayleyfm
What kind of music do you do? I'll have to give it a listen. Discovering new artists, well, new to me, is always such a joy. It kind of boggles my mind that people are inspired by the work that I've had a hand in making, honestly.
My oldest daughter Wylda is such a massive fan of yours, and she looks up to you so much, honestly, I couldn't think of a better person for her to look up to. She's going to be 16 soon, and I hear her belting out the lyrics to your songs constantly, it's pretty adorable. She'd be having a heart attack, though, if she knew I was talking to you right now and probably saying I was embarrassing her. But I'm a walking embarrassment to her, I don't even have to try. Are you still doing your solo tour right now? Because I meant to get tickets, but I was busy with some projects, and now I'm wondering if I missed out on getting to take her or not. // @hayleyfm
She does? That's so sweet. I think every teen thinks that their parents are embarrassing, no matter what's going on. So I would say that you're winning as a parent and hitting all those goals, congrats. I'm going to be starting a new tour in September. So you missed the last one but there's a chance to catch the new one. Going to be doing a lot more than just my last record - just let me know what date you wanna go to and tickets are all yours. Maybe your daughter won't think you're embarrassing for a day.
just so you know i've had a tab open on your touring dates for an embarrassing number of months now, just sitting there, judging me, while i was busy being a person with a schedule that had opinions about itself. i kept meaning to commit and then didn't, classic me, but now that my calendar has basically become a tumbleweed situation with one lonely september date rattling around in it, i figured the universe was telling me something. probably newport folk because festivals are just inherently hot — there's something about a festival look that hits different, like everyone agreed to be their most unhinged most intentional selves all in the same field and nobody's allowed to be normal about it. a good festival outfit never goes unnoticed and more importantly it never goes unphotographed and that's really what we're all here for isn't it. / @hayleyfm
You know if you want to come to a show - I'll be putting you on the list right away. I would love nothing more than to have you at the show. Especially since we use your make up brand so much to create my looks. I adore everything about it. But if you can come to the festival, that's amazing too. We'd be able to watch a couple of sets together, maybe. Can't say that I've ever done a festival as just an audience member so I don't exactly know how unhinged people get so I'm going to take your word for it. Usually I'm off to the side enjoying what people are doing.
Never ever? It's so much fun. I've been to Cons in other cities, but there's something about San Diego... I remember having a great time back then, so I'm hoping this year it's even better. But yeah, I'm promoting an upcoming movie of mine. It's a sci-fi film called Onslaught, which is set to release this September. As for creating my own character? You have entirely too much faith in me. I wouldn't know how to even begin crafting an original.
No - there's a lot of things that I nerd out about but I guess going to a con has never really crossed my mind. I can't go this year either cause I'll be performing at a festival while it's happening. I'll have to go see the movie if I get the chance to. It's going to be a busy few months. Otherwise when it comes on streaming services... I'll be ready. What's something that you love about various different characters you like? Could pull from all of them to create something. Don't have to start from nothing.
You're just making sure you stay very busy. But I love this for you, that you already got another tour lined up. That means I got to be that supportive boyfriend again and travel along with you, if I'm not filming at the time. I guess I just don't have that outsider perspective on things and just assume it's a bit boring watching actors do their scenes. Hmm, I can only imagine. Being on the road for so long, being stuck with the same people all day, it happens. And I just need to make sure that you are drinking enough tea with honey or something with ginger in it as those things tend to help a sore throat. I will take full responsibility for that. Don't think this sickness will go away that easily. You know, I'll gladly wake up along with you if the baby is making you feel poorly. We're in this together and I'll do everything in my power to help you with everything. It's very sweet that you're doing that. Oh, I know they are. I can't wait to find out what weird cravings you're going to get. I'm glad you feel that way, babe. All I want to do is make you happy.
If you are filming.... at least I'll have your company with facetimes. It might be a little harder with our little one in tow but I'm sure that we could hire a nanny or one of our moms can come along, too. We'll make it work. Many other couples have in the past. I've always found the film side of things interesting - especially since I was looking at doing some voice stuff before my last album became a thing. But there's just something about watching you work that makes me happy - knowing you're doing something that you love. My voice coach has been helping me do exercises so I don't sound completely shit when I'm performing at the festival next week... getting used to how my body is going to be different a little while pregnant. You're making me emotional over here, babe. I don't think the hormones are helping that much but thank you. Might have to get you to rub my feet or something.... as I get further along, at least. I can tell that this little one is probably taking after you cause I've been wanting a steak and I don't usually crave something like that.
