***ONE GUN: STICKMAN***

Are you sick having so many deaths while playing DeadRoom? Still looking for another action game? Then, why don’t you try this one??

ONE GUN: STICKMAN. An action game developed by erow.dev One Gun has its simple graphics but it never fails to bring you excitement. There are three (3) different types of gameplay in One Gun which can be seen if you clicked the dungeon:

First is the Battle, where all you have to do is to clear every waves of monsters. Well, I think that the waves are quite random. Some were difficult and some are not. Some waves have Boss that you have to defeat to go for the next wave.

Second is the Map, inhere you have to select first which location you should go for a battle. It is great because it has a lot of choices. Every location in the map have three (3) different icons, Coin, Monster and a Magnifying Glass icons this means the reward that you would get when you finished the battle.

This is HELL, this is the endless waves of monsters that you have to kill. In here,u could easily collect coins because you can easily kill some monster when you’re still at the basic waves. I tried to play this a I got defeated at wave forty (40) Lol.

You could collect coins came from the monsters that have killed and buy from the store. Things that you could buy at the store are weapons that you could use, boots for your speed, helmet for an HP increase or Defense, amulet for an increase of your attack and stones that can be user to upgrade your items.

The only thing that I noticed in this game is, it has a difficult game control. Yes it offers three types of game control but it is still useless. I think because the navigation is located in the left. And the reload button is in the odd location. But all in all, the game is really a great time killer and fun!.

***DEADROOM***

Are you looking for the most difficult yet addicting game? Well, try this one! Let’s see how long you will stay alive and not getting annoyed.

The game has a simple objective: find the door and go to the next level. The game is also easy to manipulate but it is really hard to pass or accomplish every levels. The game consists of 20 level, every level has different sets of obstacles full of traps that will tear you apart. You have to collect the batteries, this will serve as your coins to purchase different characters.

The game has its simple graphics and gameplay. Although you may notice that it’s a little brutal because of the blood and sound effects when the character died.

I found the game very addicting, sometimes I was getting annoyed because my kills are higher than the batteries that I had collected. I agree that this is really difficult and very challenging, and it is very fun to play.

***Anger Of Stick 5***

Enemies are making their move to conquer the city. They capture people for an experiment which turns them into a zombie. You need to defeat those enemies and those zombies with the help of your Hero Friends!

It has four types of games:

Single Game: You should defeat every enemy and pass the level without getting killed.

Jump Jump: I found this type of game really difficult to finish. You need to be fast. Defeat the enemies and reached the top. While you are fighting the floor also moves upwards, and when you fall and the floor reaches you, you’re dead.

Zombie: Zombie is just like the Single Game. The difference is, your enemies are the people who turns into zombies because of the experiments made by your enemies. You must avoid getting bitten by the zombie or you will turn into one. There are antidotes available in the shop or you could collect some of it while playing the game, you could use it to prevent yourself to turn into a zombie and continue the game. But antidotes are limited, you must use it wisely.

Defense: you must protect your base from the zombies. It is really difficult because some of the zombies could use guns.

You could buy weapons, skills and antidotes to the shops. You could upgrade them to increase the damage and durability of your weapons. You could buy your colleagues which would help you to finish the game, you could upgrade them to increase their powers to easily kill the enemies.

Since I am looking for something new, I choose to play an action game. The game is really fun. Well, I may say that this game has a brutality concept and it is not a good game for kids. But it is addictive! It has a cool animation and sound effects which really entertains you to play more!

***CAT LIFE***

The game play is just like Candy Crush. You have to match every same colored Jewel-Blocks together. And if there are more than 3 Jewel-Blocks put together at once, there’s a special Jewel Block will appear.

Every Stages has different missions, some missions were timed, and some are not. If your mission doesn’t have any required time, then you are given limited moves. To add up a challenge to this game, every level has different game platform.

The difference of this game in some matching game is: You are required to collect different cats by clearing some special stages. You could see your collected cats on your house. You can also breed your collected cats to have a kitten. But you only have a limited number of cats to put on your house. In order to increase them, you have to exchange your cat food. Cat Food is really difficult to have. You could earn it by reaching another level or by completing an achievement.

I love cats that is why I had a lot of fun playing this game. The only thing is, I would like them to improve their animations and sound effects. The graphics were great in terms of design, it is catchy, but the animation and sound effects is really poor. It has a great game play and it is really perfect for those people loved cats just like me, and those who loved room simulation games.

***POCKET MOTRYS***

"Are you a player of Pokemon Legends? If yes, then I want you to try this one!"

Pocket Mortys, or also known as Rick and Morty: Pocket Mortys, is an RPG game developed by Big Pixel Studios. I found the game really similar to Pokemon Legends. Your main objective here is to collect different Mortys, battle different Ricks (because some Rick had taken some Mortys), and earn badges. These badges are awards given by those Boss Ricks that you have defeated in different universe. Those badges were needed for you to battle those Council Member Ricks.

The reason why you have to battle those Council Member Ricks because they have confiscated your portal gun(a gun that enebles you to easily go to the different dimensions in the universe) . And they require you to collect at least 6 badges in order to challenge them for a duel (battle). I already collected 6 badges and tried to challenge the Council Member Rick, and I lost. LOL.

Just like in the Pokemon Legends, in this game, you could capture different Mortys and train them. There are Day Care Station where you could leave some of your Mortys, or you could also combine them if they are the similar type.

If you lost the battle and you don’t have anymore Mortys, DON’T WORRY! There’s a bird person that will come and save you, he will bring you to the Healing Center to make all you Mortys regain their HPs.

There is a lot of centers/ stations and places that I still didn’t explore. But all I can say is: this game is really fun. I was a player of Pokemon Legends and I love RPG games, that is why Rick and Morty: Pocket Mortys really entertains me. Their graphics and sound effects were really amazing, that could bring you excitement while you are playing.

***Nyan Cat: Lost in Space***

Nyan Cat lost in space is a platform game inspired by the popular internet meme. The game has great retro graphics with a lively music.  it is a perfect game for kids. The good thing about this game is: It is like a 5 in 1 package of games:

1. CLASSIC - is a standard mode of game, where your main objective is to collect only different sweets and reach the highest scores. You must avoid the bombs and not let cat nyan fall.

2.UNIVERSE – it’s just like the classic game, but it has a different twist. You have to collect a certain box of sweets up until you fill up the bar located at the lower side of your screen. as you completely fill the bar you will proceed to another world. you are required to fill up the bar before the time ends or else, the game will be over.

3.NYAN WINGS - it has a different concept among the other games that I mention earlier. in here, you must slide your way to get away to tac nayn. You must not let tac nayn reach you.

4.ZEN - in here, there will be no bombs so it is easy for you to reach the highest score. The thing is, you must not let cat nyan fall.

5.TAC NAYN - in here your character will be tac nayn. Your position will be at the right side of the screen to it is like the mirror version of the classic game.

You could visit cat nyan's home. You could pet cat nyan, let him sleep and feed him, just like Pou (an android game).

You could also change the world or the background of the game, but it requires 500 coins. You could also buy you game theme and skins but the only thing is, it is really hard to earn coins and coins are very rare to appear and power-up purchases were too costly.

The game is really fun and entertaining. Even though the concept is likely just for kids, I had a lot of fun playing the game.

Cheating Tom 3 by CrazyLabs

The game is easy to play and very entertaining. It requires you to get a grade at least B or an A+. You must be very careful not to be caught by your teachers. All you have to do is to hold on the student to cheat. You must wait for them to finish cheating. Every level requires you to finish and get at least a score of B or an A+. If you got a score of B you’ll get 1 star. While getting a perfect score, which is A+, it will give you 3 stars.

The game has many different levels. As the level gets higher, the game also gets difficult.

Most of the students slowly gives you answers, which consumes too much time.

Some students get easily angry when you ask for answers, which alerts your teachers.

Some students sleeps, so you couldn’t ask them for answers.

You must get an at least B or A+ before the time finished.

You could upgrade those power-ups that you get while you’re playing to improve your movement, so you could easily achieve an A+.

The game is really fun to play, every level has different type of difficulty. it is really good to play especially when you are bored.

***RUN SAUSAGE RUN!***

Run Sausage Run! Is a game published by CrazyLabs. The game reached 5 million downloads in Google Play Store. Most of the reviews were very good and tells that the game was indeed very challenging and at the same time, exciting/addicting. Those reviews catch my attention and gives me the curiosity to try and play the game.

As I play, I noticed that the graphics were similar to the game that I played not so long ago (which I also used for my journal entry) the TOILET TIME.

The game requires you to avoid those sharp/dangerous objects that you'll encounter.  Those objects are mostly knives and blades that could slash(split) your sausage into two. Some obstacles will suddenly smash you from above so you must be very careful. You must also balance your walking speed so you could prevent your sausage from dying.

The game also has different features like the sausage skins and sausage sizes. It also has an achievement logs where you could see different missions given to you. When you successfully fulfill those tasks, they will give you a new skin for free.

The game is indeed good and entertaining. The thing is, it would also be great if the sausage skins that they gave and you’re buying would have powers/skills that could also be a help for you to avoid those dangerous objects and get the higher scores.

***BUSHIDO BEAR***

Bushido Bear by Spry Fox

One day a young bear has lost his way in the middle of the forest and met a Forest Guardian. The forest guardian told him that it was dangerous to wander around alone in the woods because there are evil spirits everywhere. The guardian lives in the forest for almost hundreds of years just to defend the place. And now that he’s getting too old, he told the bear that he needs a replacement. The young bear got confused of what the old forest guardian have said, but he managed to defeat the evil spirits that had been shown up. The forest guardian told the young bear that he has the right guess, the young bear have the spirit of the forest guardian.

More evil spirits have shown up and attacking the forest but the young bear just easily defeat them with his sword. After fighting the demons, the young bear searched for the guardian, the old forest guardian shows up and told him that he is now the TRUE FOREST GUARDIAN. The old guardian shows him a shrine where he could met his ancestors just by calling them through donating coins to the shrine.

As you donate 100 coins to the shrine you will get skills or tokens. Tokens are mostly for you to collect to unlock heroes just like what is shown:

The old forest guardian also show him the DOJO a place where the young bear could upgrade his skills for him to easily kill the demons.

Dojo is just like a typical SHOP of other games where enables you to buy any upgrades for your hero skills to easily defeat your enemies.

After that the old forest guardian had vanished leaving him as the new Forest Guardian who will defend the forest from the evil spirits...

The game is really addictive it reminds me of fruit ninja (A game developed by HalfBrick). The game provides challenges by killing the enemies without touching them. You must only draw a path near the enemies, where your sword could reach them (the enemies).

It is difficult because the enemy movement was too fast and some of them has weapons to attack you. Sometimes you might accidentally touch the enemies which results for your hero’s death that is why you must avoid them and their attacks. The good thing here is, they provide a second chance. If you have a second hero, you could use it to avenge your first hero and continue.

The game also provides daily quest, but in order to get them you are also required to connect to the internet. if you completed a quest, you could unlock different stages. Different unlocked Stages have a different difficulty which adds up challenge and makes the game more addictive.

***Once Upon a Tower***

Once Upon a Tower is a vertical mining platformer developed by Pomelo Games.

Story

There was a princess trapped at the top of the tower. Once, a Knight saw her and tried to get and save her. Little did he know, there was a dragon resting at the roof of the tower. The dragon noticed him climbing the tower and chased him. The prince got caught by the dragon and ate him. The princess got tired of waiting for her Knight. And with her will to escape the tower, she tried to smash the walls with the stone hammer that was left by the Knight before he was eaten, but there's no effect. She tried to smash the floor and with her surprise it breaks easily. She do it again and again and find her way down into the tower. She encountered different kinds monsters along her way down and also traps like spikes and fire ball breathing object.

PLAY

By just swiping upward, downward, left and right you’re now able to play the game. The game seems to be easy but it is not. When the enemy bumped into you, you’re dead. The enemies were moving too fast that’s why you have to think carefully whether which move you will take next.

The game provides 3 missions in every level that should be accomplished by the player. To add up challenges and difficulty, there some wall of the tower are open. Once you make a move or break the first floor brick the dragon will hear it and starts to fly. The dragon will appear randomly and will breathe fire on those open walls. And of course, you have to avoid it  or you will be dead.

You also have to collect fireflies. Collecting this fireflies and filling up the bottle enables you to unlock a new character.

Well, the game is really amazing. Its graphics is really great and the sound, I would recommend to use earphones, to feel the extreme excitement the game play was really great and indeed challenging. The only thing is, it would be best if the unlocked character would have an enhanced skills.

***Stranger Things: The Game***

Are your a fan of Netflix’s sci-fi TV series, Stranger Things? If yes, then this game is perfect for you!

Stranger Things: The Game was published by BonusXP, Inc.

The game’s story focuses on finding the four lost boys: Will, Lucas, Mike and Dustin.

At first, you will play as Chief Hopper, a cop that plays a huge part on the main drama. Then later on, as you encounter different characters on the story, some of them would join your party and help you to accomplish your missions. For example here is Lucas, one of the missing boys that you’re asked to find. He will be the first one that you’ll find, which is in the Hawkins National Laboratory.

As you meet Lucas he will automatically join your party and help you. Well, if you want to know who are the other characters that will join you, tap the character icon on the lower right. They will show you this:

(Actually, when you first play the game, Eleven, *the 2nd last character on the right* is not yet available. I already finished the game and restarted it to take screenshots for my journal entry. IDK what happened, that character is supposed to be unlocked at the last part of the game. LOL.)

Every characters that joined in your party has different skills. You could see it on the characters list or beside the character icon.

(Lucas: Wrist Rocket, Chief Hopper: Super Punch, Nancy: Lil Slugger, Eleven: Pool Portal)

The game provides you a map for both Hawkins and inside the buildings that you’re in. It is very helpful especially when you’re not sure if you successfully unlocked all the doors, and to checked the other places you left unexplored.

While finding the boys, you also have to collect different items to boost your skills, health and etc.As you can see on the picture above,there are three icons on the lower left, these are the items that you will have to collect in this Chapter.

The Button, as you collect all 5 button, this will give you Coins or a Heart Piece, every 4 Heart Pieces that you have collected will give you +1 Health.

The Eggo, on the whole game, you have to collect 8 eggos and put it into Hopper’s Lockbox, if you successfully collected it, you will finally unlocked Eleven.

The VHS Tape, just like the eggos, collecting 8 VHS Tape will give you a chance to watch Stranger Things Trailer.

At the middle right part of the screen (beside the map icon), you will see a bag icon, which contains different items that you have collected: Inventory, Heart Pieces, Gnomes and Collections.

Inventory contains tools, the you need to use in some circumstances. For example is the Hazmat Suit that you could see above in the tool section. The suit can be found in the Morgue which you can be used to enter the upside down.

Upgrades are rewards that you gained by helping the other characters by bringing them items that they asked you. Those items are

Quest Items, these are items that you randomly collected while exploring the game, at first you may see it as nothing but just collectable items but those items have different owners and you have to give it to them. Well, most of the time the rewards given to you are Heart Pieces.  (Since I already explain what are the Heart Pieces for, I wont explain it any further. LoL.)

Collections is where your Waffles and VHS Tapes are stored. You could get Waffles by defeating the Boss in every Chapter and VHS Tapes can be seen in some secret rooms.

Gnomes, as you collected them, find the house of its owner and put it on the chest and you will receive Upgrade Items.

And of course there are enemies in this game which makes it challenging and addictive. Every enemies have different movements, it can also attack you with their weapons, one can throw a wrench and one can shoot you with the gun. Other enemies can either be immune or can block your attack. Which really requires you a strategic way of thinking on how to defeat them.

With its action-adventure theme, it lets you explore and find different items in secret places. You have to solves puzzles strategically by using the characters abilities.

The sound effects, music and the graphics of the game were great which makes it more entertaining.

The only thing is, the game doesn’t have mission log. You’re not able to keep track of the missions you’ve already accomplished and what’s more there to keep unlocked.

***Toilet Time - Minigames to Kill Bathroom Boredom***

Game Description: “Your number 1 game to make the most of number 2 time!”

Toilet Time is a game developed by Tapps Games, a mobile gaming company which started on 2012. The game consists of different minigames, this requires you to reach a certain level to unlock one of the minigames.

Well, I find this game very similar to Dumb Ways To Die, where every player requires to finish every challenge on a given time. As you passed every level, the game will become more difficult and more challenging. The time will be fast, so as the movement of the objects on the game. Well, the only difference is that, this game has an extra features: the achievements board, the museum, and the collection. 

The achievements board is the records you attained while playing the game. The museum is where every mystery door placed. These doors were need to be unlocked by the keys that you earned while playing the game. 

The collections, is where you must collect different items coming from the toilet bowl by using a plunger. If you collected the same three (3) items they will give you one (1) extra plunger (kind of nonsense, tho (=__=)). 

Well, all in all, the game was indeed challenging and addictive. You never knew that you’re in to, up until you’re irritated and you’re cursing—nonstop, because you just lose one freakin’ level. 

The game is also funny, every level will never fail to surprise you and make you laugh. It is very entertaining and a great time killer. This is a perfect game for you to spend your time and kill your boredom, especially when you’re inside the bathroom (well, I think it was really made for it. LOL)

BORED GAMES. — BOARD GAMES!!!

What I Played?

Pictionary – A board game & a drawing word-guessing game that can be played by groups of any age.

Wheel of Fortune(WOF) – A board game that is originated from the game show.

Dama(Checkers)  – American version of an internationally popular game called Draughts

Elements:

PLAYERS:

Pictionary: It is best to have a group of at least two to four players.

WOF: 1 host. And at least 3-6 players. By twos are also allowed.

Checkers: This game only requires two players.

OBJECTIVE:

Pictionary: Have the most guessed words and be the first team to reach the last square on the board to win the game.

WOF: You must guess the covered letters on the board and solve given word/phrase to win and have a lots of cash.

Checkers: Capture all the opponent’s piece.

PROCEDURE:

Pictionary: Every team must send one candidate that should see a generated word and draw. The drawn image must be guessed by the other members of the team. They only have 1 minute to do this.

WOF: Every player takes their turns by spinning the wheel and guessing consonants to solve the puzzle. If the player guesses correctly, he/she are now able to choose whether to spin the wheel again, buy a vowel or solve the whole puzzle. If the chosen letter is not part of the puzzle then the next player will have its turn.

Checkers: The first move will be made by the darkest piece. The piece will move diagonally towards the opponents base. The player must “eat” every opponents piece to won the game. To do this, the player’s piece should jump over the opponent’s piece *diagonally*.

RULES:

Pictionary: The one who draws the image are not allowed to speak the generated word and he must let it guessed by the other members of the group. Direct writing of letters are not allowed to give a hint, unless the illustrator must draw an image corresponding to the first letter of the given/generated word.

WOF: Vowels are not allowed to use unless they buy for it. As all the letters have filled in, there will be a Bonus Round and the player who have chosen to solve the puzzle (the player who have the most winning cash) will have 10 seconds. The player could give more than one answer, but only during those 10 seconds. If the player fails to solve it correctly. No prize will be awarded and the game will be over.

Checkers:  Only diagonal moves are allowed and every pieces should only stepped on the dark squares.

CONFLICT:

Pictionary: Conflict occur during the time when both groups guessed and answers at the same time.

WOF: Conflict occurs when the host of the game mistakenly and forgot to open the wrong letter or of the arrow of the wheel strikes in between the two prizes or in between the prizes and the bankrupt or lose a turn.

Checkers:  When both side does not have possible moves.

BOUNDARY:

Pictionary: Physical boundaries of the game are the board, pencils and papers and the word generator used for the illustrator to know every image that they should draw. Fragment

WOF:  Physical boundaries of the game WOF are the wheel itself, the board where the letters/ phrase are posted and the money that could be used to buy the vowels. Fragment

Checkers:  Physical boundaries of the game are the chessboard and the piece. The piece that are outside are not allowed to use because it has already eaten by the opponent.

OUTCOME:

Pictionary:  If the group reaches the last square of the board, they should guess again another drawn image for them to win.

WOF:  As the player has the most number of cash, they will be chosen to play the Bonus Round, which is to solve the puzzle. If they solved correctly their will received the grand prize along with the cash that they had.

Checkers: The player wins if he still has the remaining piece and defeats the opponent.

PLAYING CARDS...

For our activity last Saturday, we’re asked to search for the three existing card games and create our own game by using playing cards. As we searched for those existing card games, we found these three: the Rummy, (Spit) Speed and Blackjack. While on our own invented game, we come up with the combination of Edlyn’s idea (Edlyn’s idea, because she forgot what’s the name of that game. “-_-) and the existing game of Slap-Jack.

At first we find it too difficult to come up with a new card game, and it takes us a few decades to come up with the idea. Thankfully, Edlyn knows a lot of card games, she introduced to us the game that she played before. Where the player should do a certain action when every King, Queen and Jack cards was drawn.

We try to combine it with the game named, Slap-Jack. We found this game on the YouTube, this game was originally came from Blackjack. The difference of the original blackjack was, when one of the player fails, he will receive a huge slap—Well, literally HUGE.

So after that, we tried to play our new invented game. Honestly, while our group was playing I find it boring. And I think our game has a different concept from the other groups. I also doubted that the other group would find it boring too. But as one of the other group played our game, they gave different reaction than what I had expected. They say that our game was fun and exciting too.

They find it challenging too because sometimes when the Ace card was drawn (i forgot to mention it. LOL) they always get caught off guard that they should slap the Ace and shout “PAK!” –Oh, and I also forgot to tell you the name of our invented game. The title of our invented game is: “SLAP-PACK!” (or Pack-Slap? IDK.)

Well, we also tried the other groups’ invented games and as expected, their games were also fun and exciting too. This really shows that everyone of us has its creativeness and could be an aspiring great developer.

On our subject Game Development, we were asked to find and play a certain game. We were given groupmates to play with us and do a review based on how they react and what could they say on to that game. I suggested the game that I was playing when I was in high school (Y8 days XD).

This game is called Bad Ice Cream. Bad Ice Cream was developed by NITROME, a mobile game development studio that was founded on August 10 by Mat Annal and Heather Stancliffe. The concept of the game Bad Ice Cream is very much like a bomber man and pacman style. In terms for the game’s interface, it was still very simple and arcade like. Because this game was released long ago.

The objective of the game is for you to collect all the various collections of fruits that is scattered without getting smashed by the roaming monsters, which are obviously your enemies. Getting hit by this monster will make your ice cream avatar melt and the game will be over.

The controls of the game are the arrow keys, and the space bar. Arrow keys is obviously for your avatar to move and, space bar is for you to create a wall of ice to block your enemies and to break the ice walls.

As we played the game with my groupmates, @btsenthusiastx and @captoftherollyjoger, I noticed that at first, they’re not that excited while playing the game. But as the remaining level goes harder they starting to react and be into it. Especially Edlyn, she didn’t notice that she’s screaming and when he she lost, she always wants for another game, while Iris is still being quiet - lol. They decided to try playing it in multiplayer and see who’s the best on playing it. We’re kinda (kinda??) confused because of the controls that’s why we often get lost.

As to sum it all, the graphics of the game and its sound may affect the player and turns out that he/she may see this game boring but In some other ways it may catch their attention because of its difficult obstacles as the level of this game goes higher.  Well, I may say that this game is perfect for those people whose just want to kill their time and looking for a mild challenge.(XD)
