maybe i’m just an old man but it irritates me to see regular-ass conventionally attractive human beings referred to as “tumblr sexymen”. that’s not what that means. a “tumblr sexyman” is not just a man that tumblr users find sexy. it’s a very specific phenomenon where tumblr users see a character with a big outrageous personality who may or may not even have a human form and all start drawing him as a twink in a suit and/or shipping him with different versions of himself. and i’d like to hope that nowadays tumblr’s a bit more inclusive about who gets to become a sexyperson; like maybe sometimes it’s a woman! or even someone who’s not white! but being considered a “sexyman” never had anything to do with the attractiveness of the actual character. people were doing this with Wheatley from Portal and the clock from DHMIS. an actual attractive man will never read as a true sexyman to me.
