Arizona Blonde (Aphonopelma chalcodes) my little blondie spiderling, hard at work on her burrow (2x speed)
Ivory Tiger Spider (Poecilotheria subfusca 'Highland') absolutely love this girl. she's been really putting on some size on her past few molts, and is likely about 4.5in (11.43cm) in legspan. she should hit about the 6in (15.24cm) mark when she is mature. the name Ivory Tiger Spider is a bit of a personal remix of the more widely accepted common name, being Ivory Ornamental. tarantulas in the genus Poecilotheria have been referred to as Ornamentals for ages, but more recently i have been enlightened to the name "Tiger Spider," as almost all of them possess striped legs and coincidentally share habitat with tigers in India. the rest of the genus is native to Sri Lanka, including this species. notably, as well, most of the genus is recognized as at risk of being endangered, if not already classified as endangered or critically endangered. deforestation and habitat loss have extreme impacts on tarantulas, but most especially those that rely on the trees for shelter.
