I've been recording a mix with stuff exclusively from the  DEMENT3D​ back-catalog and forthcoming projects. 

Of course this is a challenging expericence, I wouldn't have expected that we've fed the crates enough to make an entire 1h mix come to life with not too many constraints... but yep, it’s working !

Also, the fact we’ve got a lot of stuff ready for the next few months is pretty exciting... just sayin’...

Anyways, I’ve been finding myself completely losing it on Simbi again. That insane track by Hiss :1292. Funny thing... I’m going to Saint-Jean de Luz tomorrow to check out Baleapop festival, and I’ve been relating to that distinct memory I have from over there, almost 14 or 15 years ago, listening to “Les Enfants Du Bled” by Soha. It wasn’t the first time I had been listening to that track, but standing on a balcony alone in front of the setting sun, turning the volume of my headphones at a completely unreasonable level, I had reached a level of concentration and abandonment that gave me this strange feeling that I think may be called “transient simultagnosia”. (found out about that term reading “Musicophilia” by Oliver Sacks btw. very nice read if you want my advice :) ) 

Well, it’s happening again with Simbi.

Very happy of the overall atmosphere in this one. It's an experimental and eclectic trip, with a little classic techno incursion in the middlle..

It’s been a while… sorry tumblr for deserting :)

"La preuve" : this @RinseFrance show was recorded last june, and I’m just publishing it now… One of my favorite mixes this year though. Worth a listen. 

And for those who were there at Grand Palais on the 21st of June, this was recorded the week before the show.  Not quite the same experience though, and even a little dub and techno in the middle… but you’ll still feel some of the weirdness that happened that day… Please listen without skipping, very loud, in the dark or eyes closed

This is the long awaited comeback of the gang of five - dscrd - to their first home - DEMENT3D.
The story all started 2 years ago, in november 2011, when we first released the "Discordance EP" - a collection of 4 pieces of music that would boldly set the foundations to our label : it was our very first attempt at releasing a record, and we are still thankful today for the support and public we have come across at that time.

Since then, dscrd have successfully made a name for themselves, playing a number of countries and festivals, releasing some excellent music on Silicate Music or Stroboscopic Artefacts.
If one could suppose they are reaching a certain kind of maturity and comfort, well this record says the exact opposite.

These four tracks are wildly imaginative, crossover and rebellious to the electronic music format dogma. This can only resonate with the titles they have chosen for the EP . If you have seen them live, you might have spotted the voices of Foucault or Watkins here and there...
New specific sequencer software have been coded, legendary vintage bass guitar amps recorded, new ideas and equipment searched and destroyed: every dscrd record involves a breathtaking amount of research and creation.

This record, although still a short format, has been generated through an album composition process and should be listened as such.
