It had been barely a week since Joseph had settled on staying in Holliday for a little while and the male had already found the little shop that would remind him of the baked goods his mother would often have laying on the table for him and his sister Natalia. The fresh sent of warm croissant, a speciality on early mornings, were enough to drag the photograph out of his bed. “ Morning “ the light ding of the bell rang through the empty bakery once pushing the door open, the curly haired male’s eyes pulling into small crescents once seeing the shadow of the pastry chef he had grown to become rather friendly with. “ Smells great..as always” he took a seat at the counter, curious gaze observing his empty surrounding as it seemed like he was, once again, the very first costumer Joel was going to get.
JOEL HAD gotten pretty good at hiding his exaustion. His weariness tucked away behind a friendly morning smile. He’d already been in the store two hours, prepping and baking the day’s treats. Joel heard the familiar ding of the bell, and turned to see Joseph walking in. He was already becoming something of a regular. Not that Joel minded, he was easy to get along with. “Good Morning!” He called with an almost painfully cheery disposition. “yeah? they’re tea scones, just came out of the oven. and I even made fresh jam to go with them,” He explained, wandering over to the cash. “you’re the first one in again, er- what do they say? early bird gets the worm? but I guess, uh, in this case the worm is pastries and the bird is well, you. Not that I’m calling you a bird, it’s just-” too early for me to talk Joel thought. “uh- sorry, what’ll it be?”
