Reason number gazillion that I love my dad: he brought back me a handwoven wool pashmina shawl from India with the sole idea of “Bridget would like having something nice to cover her head with in church.” It’s a good photo of the scarf, but…in retrospect, I really should have worn a different blouse and ironed that skirt before going out. >_< Oh well.

(I’ve been covering since last Advent as a personal devotion. It helps keep me focused and humble and I feel closer to my spiritual ancestors. I’ve never had the courage to wear anything this noticeable before, though, but - it’s great. It really gets rid of my crowd anxiety and helps me pay attention to only what’s important.)
