So, it’s spring and I took all the love he didn’t want and gave it back to myself.
Angelea Lowes, excerpt of Spring Pt. II (via wildfairy)
I am an early riser, meaning I always get to watch the sun dance over your skin long before your eyes open. See, my favorite thing in the world is pink skies, and you look like one that I can touch. Glittering with light. Chasing after fireflies in the backyard. This is the bad love song, turned up to full volume, and we can’t help but sing along. This is the moon swaying along with us. We are clumsy, but always laughing, our mouths stained red by the cherries. I am the tired bird, settling my wings for once. All this running, this make believe flying, has worn me out, and you are offering your bed. Offering your hands, your throat. I am dancing with roses in my hair and you can’t stop staring. I am in full bloom thanks to your green thumb. We are growing, together, like it should be, our roots tangling. The sun dances on your skin. The roses bloom from beneath my skin. We put even the fireflies dance to shame. Even the moon can’t stop staring.
Tangled Roots, Angelea Lowes (via wildfairy)
If you look back only at your mistakes, you’d think you were an idiot. If you look back only at your wiser choices, you’d think you were infallible. But if you look back on everything, you realize you’re a human being who has been through a lot, grown a lot, is always still learning, and improving as time goes by.
