I’ve had eli h/ale for literally less than 2 minutes and 30 seconds but im still already obsessed
mccallofthewild:
Scott nodded and got out some broccoli out of the fridge, showing the floret to the screaming lizard, holding it close to his shoulder for the creature to come perch on him as he closed the fridge door with his foot.
“So what have you been up to, Connor? It’s been a little bit since I’ve seen you. You didn’t end up an icicle again, did you?”
“Oh, I’m alright. There was just a big to-do at work,” Connor waved that off. It was the minor excuse they used whenever there was a random uptick of anomalies that kept them running like chickens with their heads lopped off. “What’s been keeping you busy?”
mccallofthewild:
Sid eventually got tired of their game and went scampering off with his prize before he was promptly tackled by Nancy as she attempted to get her turn with the wood. He righted himself and moved into the kitchen with Connor. He shrugged his shoulders before he moved in to give the other male a hug.
“The adorable just got to me, I guess.” He replied, looking a the flying lizard perched on the fridge. “Have any broccoli or anything? I still remember him trying to dive bomb me for stealing all your attention before.”
“In the fridge,” he said, pointing with a nod of his nose towards it. “Lizards like him - and I’m usin’ that broader definition of lizard - don’t have a great sense of smell. He won’t smell it any better warmed up.”
Rex screeched again, arching his back at Scott. Clearly, he hadn’t yet warmed up to Scott yet. Rex was a clever little clod, he had to wonder what might be up with that.
mccallofthewild:
Scott scooped Nancy up in his arms and scratched at her stomach. “Are they supposed to be eating wood like that?” He asked curiously, setting Nancy back down before he started to play a game of tug of war with Sid’s wood plank. He glanced up at Connor with a smirk. “You know, exhausted and frustrated can be a pretty good equation for cute too sometimes.”
He raised his eyebrows, rather impressed. Diictodons weren’t exactly light creatures, being larger than a corgi but dense as could be. Connor had trouble lofting them around more often than not. Well done, Scott... well done. Connor needed to work out more. He leaned back, hips and hands resting on his counter tops.
“They’re burrowers. I need to give them stuff to dig through or else they’ll dig through something the landlord would have a fit over.” He said. From atop the fridge, Rex screamed. “That one just wants attention and a jungle gym. Aren’t you keen today? What’s got you all sunshiney?”
@mccallofthewild asked: "I thought I smelled adorable around here somewhere."
“I think what you’re smelling is scales mixed with annoying!” Connor said, hands on his hips. Nancy clamored over Sid to try and get to Scott, a plank of wood between Sid’s teeth. It was... adorable. “Though annoying plus scales does seem to equate to a bit of cute.”

“Oh, I sound like I’m in an air duct? Probably cos that’s exactly where I am. ‘Fraid the echo isn’t going anywhere for a bit.”
sometimes you just need to watch kitbull and cry
mccallofthewild:
“I think it’s going to be a great night.” He murmured, getting comfortable with Connor and the lizards. “Maybe I’ll get to see you at work sometime. I think I’d like that. See you in your element.” He replied, flashing a smile at the other male. “I bet there’s still a lot of Connor Temple I haven’t gotten to see yet.”
“Unfortunately nah, sorry.” Connor said, settling in among the couch cushions. “My work’s pretty confidential. You won’t be getting in there. But there’s plenty to see that’s not me work. I mean, what’s more important than movies and lizards?”
mccallofthewild:
Scott smiled and shrugged his shoulders. “I might make a few comments, but that’s about it. I wonder what you telling someone off sounds like. Kind of hard to imagine. You’ve always been such a sweetie.” He teased, a grin on his lips as his attention turned to the TV.
“Then it should be a half decent night, at least,” Connor grinned. He snorted a bit, relaxing back in the pillows as much as one could with a dinosaur roaming around the pile of legs. “You should see me at work. Plenty of people I have to tell off there.”
mccallofthewild:
“That’s a good point, I guess. So, are you a quiet movie person or do you talk during movie?” He murmured, leaning back into the couch with Connor while his free hand scratched gently at Nancy’s back. He only paused scratching her to hit play and shuffle a little closer to the other male.
Nancy squealed in contentment, her bumper car kitten tail beating side to side as she lived under the attention. Considering the size of it, the tail wasn’t much danger but still, little scoundrel. Connor laughed a bit and settled in for the movie.
“If someone’s being an idiot on screen, yeah, I’ll tell them off but I won’t chat through the whole thing,” He promised. “You?”
mccallofthewild:
“Not when they’re over. Just during?” He asked, giving a light hum as he thought about what that would mean. “Yeah, but that’s not quite as much fun from my standpoint, is it? No terrified puppy eyes asking me to stick around at the end of the night to keep you safe.” He teased, giving the other male a wink. “Ghosts and ghouls and goblins. Whatever I need to fight off.”
Scott looked over at Nancy and picked her up, setting her down on the couch and scratching under her chin with his free arm. “Ready for me to start the movie?” He asked, grinning at Connor.
“Well, the whole point is to get a little bit freaked, now, isn’t it?” Connor grinned. “I’ll get spooked but I’m not thinking the monsters going to come crawling out of the telly. As for goblins and ghouls, I’m not so bad at fighting them myself.”
Nancy whined, waddling on the couch as she found her footing.
“I’m not fighting you, missy, not unless you’re eating through the couch again.”
Connor grinned, and leaned back in the cushion. It seemed Scott was pretty good at dealing with animals, even if they were crazy as his trio of lizards. That was quite sweet to see. “Sure am.”
mccallofthewild:
“Well, I think you’ve done a pretty good job of proving that you don’t really get scared in real life.” He replied, keeping his arm around the other male’s shoulders. “But movies are different. I know some pretty tough people who get nightmares from bad movies. But don’t worry I’ll keep you safe.” He joked, winking at Connor. “And, for the record, I think you’re past the point of needing to advertise for me anymore. It’s just opening up at this point. Interest is already there.”
“Alright well how about, movies don’t scare me when they’re over?” Connor asked. “I’m not shaking in my boots thinking Michael Myers will come for me. I might jump at some of the scares, but it’s all in good fun. You to keep me safe from the ghosts, eh?”
Connor laughed a bit at Scott’s comments, leaning back on the couch. Nancy came around the corner and started to waddle her way towards the pet ramp aiming up the couch. He was still so lucky the lizards couldn’t climb but he felt bad they couldn’t get up on the couch without the ramp.
“Are you jealous?” He asked. Nancy whined. Baby.
