Proposal
Set in the early 1990’s Toby is a 17-year-old boy who has chosen to work in a dead end job to escape the awkwardness at home. He feels he need to hide a secret from his mum and doesn’t know how she would react to it. One night Toby’s secret won’t stay hidden from his mum and he will have to deal with the different paths he could take ahead of him. His secret could change his life forever. (Re edited soon)

Shy and introvert Toby is a person with only a few close friends. His Father leavening home brings up bad reactions to both his social and private life and it is not until coming out as gay to his closest friend he feels the first of many signs of rejection. Not the stereotypical gay guy, he is constantly covering up his true self as to escape from the oppression that he has become so used to. He has a close relationship to Evelyn his mum and feels that he could discuss problems he is facing in his social and private life with her.

Evelyn is a kind woman who still believes in old family values. She works a full time dead end job and is struggling to pay rent on her house. She has a son called toby and they share a close relationship. Her Husband left a 5 years ago and she has had to look after Toby by herself ever since. She cares a bit too much about Toby and often over worries. She has started to notice Toby has become more secretive recently and has started to wonder what is wrong.
