Enniotape
Peep dis breezy beat collage that my bud Caleb made at the end of last year but only recently shared it with the world..
via pplz:
~W H A T U P T U M B L R @——>—— I made an instrumental beat tape / collage at the end of last year and decided to go post it yesterday. The music being sampled is primarily Ennio Morricone, Alessandro Allessandroni, or a random library record. Thx, plz share if u dig! You can download the it here or via Soundcloud.
George FitzGerald - Full Circle (feat Boxed In)
Simple. Straightforward. Soothing. This is how I like the majority of of my music. The chord progression is so simple, yet hair raising. Enough to drive a math-guitar-virtuoso mad with anger. This isn't meant be a knock, there is certainly plenty of production value and expertise on this song, but the root of the song is minimal. Which can be very difficult! To create something this compelling to where I've spent most of my afternoon listing to this on a loop is difficult to do and takes a large amount of talent.
His debut album 'Fading Love' is due out April 26th on Dominion Records / Double Six.
Straightforward, memory building, get shit done music is sometimes what you need.
Lumikide - Again
I've got a soft spot in my heart for the shoegaze scene in Norway. This band is no exception. I'm not sure how the lead singer Birgitta Alida Hole is able to have such a strong but delicate presence.
This comes off their album Again which is out on Klangkollektivet.
Braids - Miniskirt
A good set of headphones or speakers are a must. An ethereal song, it's structured musical in a way it feels like three songs in one for me. Vocals, so strong. But if you're a long time listener of Braids this isn't surprising to you. There is just something about this song that carries more oomph.
Be on the look out for their new album Deep in the Iris, out end of this April.

Moodoïd - La Lune
Full disclosure I forgot about this band. They released one of my favorite EPs of 2013 and just this past summer released their first full length Le Monde Möö.
Vive la musique psychédélique française
Monster Rally & Jay Stone - Parthenogenesis (feat Brandon Rayson)
The LA tropical melody shaper and Oakland lyricist teamed together to produce a hip hop album that sounds like the Gift of Gab was sailing on a sail boat in Gator shoes around the Papua New Guinea coastline smoking hash.
I'm by no stretch a hip hop head but I love the more chop and paste type beats along with Stone's emcee style. The mesh of old guard updated with that new new flavor.
You can buy from Gold Robot Records.
The Sea Life - Screws
DC band. Live Session. If you're in the area they're playing with Juan Wauters and another DC band Nice Breeze this weekend at Comet Ping Pong.
John Andrews & The Yawns - Pennsylvania
John's new album "Bit By The Fang", to be released by Woodists, was recorded in his home in Pennsylvania Dutch country and backed by his imaginary backing band "The Yawns". He has crafted this lazy-sad-hearted aesthetic accented by the hopefulness of Saturday morning Cartoons. Personally, I found it amazing he was able to put together such a wonderful lazy-folk-psych album while writing and touring as the drummer for Quilt and playing keys for Woods. It's something to be inspired by.
I'm convinced that John is an reincarnation of an artist of years past.

Lower Dens - To Die In L.A.
Needless to say, I'm really stoked for this album.
DMCA Bummers :(
Due to changes in Tumblr's DMCA policies and a phone call with Tumblr it's been recommended that I remove all Tumblr hosted audio posts [which is a lot] over the next couple days. Mainly, this is out of fear of my account being terminated due to copyright infractions. It's unfortunate, but it's part of the law and if I want to be a member of this community I have to abide by it's rules.

oh my gosh. that organish/synth sound. that squeeky wheel.

The frozen days and days of the year when the winter feels insufferable. Endless. You hear a song like this from Oslo’s Kari Jahnsen. Perfection.
Her eponymous debut EP is due out on February 10th from Something Nothing Records. Photo by Karl Erik Brøndbo.
Future Islands - Seasons (Waiting On You)
Beautiful video from their forthcoming album 'Singles', their debut 4AD album, released March 25th here in the States. If you ever have a chance to see them live do so, frontman Sam Herring is one of the more passionate performers.
