Didn’t this woman know who she was? Apparently she didn’t or else she might have reacted differently. It was something she wasn’t used to. How long has it been since someone greeted her normally? Before everything went wrong, before she had been lied to. It was years ago that someone had talked to her normally and didn’t run away or started to yell at her and wanted to attack her. This was a nice change for sure. Maybe, just maybe, she could get along with her, although Alyss would need to get used to have someone around her beside the Cheshire cat. There was the chance that Valentina could figure out who she was and be the one hunting her down, too. For Alyss it didn’t seem like she would be strong enough to fight against her anyway, yet she didn’t want to challenge her if there was no reason. 

Her lips curled up into a little soft smile as she tried her best to appear friendly and not annoyed. Truth be told, Alyss was curious about the stranger. Who exactly was that woman and what was her use in this world? Not that Alyss had much of a use here. She had, after all, done things that weren’t supposed to happen in the first place.

“Hello Valentina. My name is Alyss. I haven’t seen you around here. Are you new?” There was no reason why she shouldn’t introduce herself with the name “Alyss”. Not much people knew about it and almost whole Wonderland was still addressing her as “Alice” anyway. Sure it was annoying but for once it had it’s positive side to it. 

“ Well... not exactly new. Usually I’m not allowed to go outside at all, because danger ‘n stuff, I’m surrounded by overprotectiveness... but I keep sneaking out to explore! “ 

A soft chuckle from the young Queen. Well, she was from a different part of Wonderland, that’s for sure. But she had lived in the land of hearts so long, and still not seen enough of it. Stupid rabbit and his rules.

“ It is nice to meet you... Alyss? Never heard that name before! “

It sounds a lot like Alice. But Valentina did not immediatly make any other connection between that. Alice was told to be a blonde brat who was ready to kill. Who killed the queen and fled. This person before her... can’t possibly be a murderer. Not with such a nice smile.

“ So, what were you doing here all by yourself? Must be lonely to not hang out with people... ? “

Sometimes there was this rare chance that Alyss would meet someone new from Wonderland, someone she hasn’t met yet. Most of the time it were people from the town, people that didn’t hold much worth in Alyss opinion, however this time it was a bit different. 

Alyss had been walking a way that lead her to a little park, not far from the town. It was risky and she knew it, yet she didn’t bother much about it. The people from Wonderland couldn’t be after her the whole time, right? Even they would need a break, just as much as Alyss needed her’s. It had become draining to run away or fight against the people from Wonderland. She had tried to explain her reason for her action back then but they didn’t want to listen which was understandable to her in a way. 

A small sigh passed her lips as she sat down on one of the benches, looking up at the sky. How long has it been since she has been trapped in Wonderland? A few years but she has lost track a long time ago. Alyss probably would have continued to look up at the sky lost in her thoughts if there wasn’t a sudden noise. Alarmed the woman looked around only to see…another woman? She frowned. Alyss has never seen her before and sure, this might be nothing special, there was something about the other that was for sure not ordinary. “Who are you?”

Valentina just had freed herself from the grasp of some plants, having tried to hide her tracks from the royal guards who probably soon will notice her going missing. Though, she did not concern herself with such trivial things. Not being looked for, and seeing someone she never has met before, it was something... that gave her the chance to be a normal person. Not ‘the next Queen in line’.

“ Hi. I’m Valentina! “

A smile formed on her lips upon realisation that she might actually be allowed to have a normal afternoon. Introducing herself to some stranger who was not aware of her status. It somewhat cheered her up.
