Ok hear me out:

night nurse (dbd) x Johanna Constantine (sandman)

So we know that dead boy detectives and the Sandman take place in the same universe. We have already seen two of the Endless so Johanna Constantine a female adaptation of John Constantine that appeared in the Sandman exists in the same universe. Keep this in mind.

The Night Nurse is a character that doesn't appear in the dbd comics. However a comic counterpart of Connell's character is the nightmare nurse who is introduced in the Phantom Stranger and Justice League Dark comics. There are a lot of differences between the two nurses but many consider the Night Nurse a loose adaptation of the Nightmare Nurse.

Even in the DC database the dbd and the Doom Patrol version appear on the Nightmare Nurse's disambiguation page so it's practically confirmed, even if it's not officially confirmed.

About the Nightmare Nurse, also known as Asa the healer.

As her name states (Asa literally means healer) she is a demonic healer with unfathomable power, who is also canonically polyamorous and pansexual!!

Amongst her many relationships at some point in her life she got involved in a situationship with John Constantine. They were dating for some time but we're talking about Constantine so it probably ended terribly, and they are not in the best terms...

So what I'm trying to say is this:

Since Johanna is John Constantine and the Night Nurse is the Nightmare Nurse and it all takes part in the same universe those two probably dated in this universe too!

So I present you a new ship that I have no idea how to call but I am very sure it's gonna be very toxic... (If you don't believe me see how they interact in the comics...)

Now I need them to interact in season two!!

dbda season 15- the gang meets a fan.

it's a rather meta episode. they cast either someone properly famous, like, idina menzel or dolly parton, or just fuckin cast someone from descendants 4 (i do not care who but joshua colley has contacts).

the plot is basically they have a hardcore fan who has a case they need to solve, and the fan definetly has a crush on one of them. only... no one can figure out who.

edwin, who is used to getting attention, thinks its him. charles, who lets be real thinks everyone loves him, is picking up a vibe. crystal is 100% positive they keep flirting with her. niko is taking emphatic notes on all of this, and can't help but see the person lingering their gaze on her eyes. jenny is like, the person stared at my me for like, thirty seconds (edwin mentions that it might have been the giant knife she was holding, and then she waves it at him). they spend the entire episode trying to figure out which one of them the fan has a crush on instead of solving the case. 2 injured 1 dead.

(oh, the fan had a crush on the night nurse.)

(this is not played for laughs, to be 100% clear. the night nurse is a badass & frankly ruth connel is gorgeous. everyone's just caught off guard because SHE WASN'T EVEN IN THE ROOM. turns out the fan kept looking at everyone because they were looking around the room, looking for evidence of the night nurse.)

asa, unintentionally letting slip that she had in fact opened a portal to hell in jenny's property back in port townsend.

jenny instantly hitting the roof. "what the FUCK DO YOU MEAN YOU OPENED A PORTAL TO HELL????"

asa trying to play it off because she genuinely had not meant to divulge that little tidbit - above all she's a healer, and she knows something like that is liable to give jenny problems with her blood pressure. "oh... uh... just joking, dear! humans like jokes, eh? see, i'm getting better at this 'interacting with mortals' stuff!" with that overly bright smile that's honestly just really hard to argue with.

jenny not buying that for a second, but also, is she even surprised anymore? this might as fucking well happen. she's already been possessed, followed some ghosts to london, almost been killed by a scary stalker librarian, frequently interacts with a self-confessed 'trans-dimensional being'... a portal to hell's probably par for the course, at this point.

"right. a joke," she'll reply, dry as hell. "let's try keeping the fucking PORTALS TO HELL in my building to a minimum."

and asa, still sporting that outrageously sweet grin, without a moment's hesitation: "our building."
