annette longbottom.
“Janey,” Annette smiled softly, leaning over to give her practically-definitely-sister a hug, “Praise like that coming from you would make up for fifty Howlers,” She giggled, fiddling with the ring on her finger, “Annette Longbottom—wow, that’s—-kind of weird to hear out loud. I’ve only been doodling it on parchment since third year but it’s actually going to happen, you know?” She bit down on her lower lip to try and keep the goofy grin she was sure was on her face at bay, “Speaking of advice—-how are you, Jane?”
“Fifty Howlers?? I didn’t realize I had the effect of being able make up for fifty of those things but it’s true!!” Jane smiled, hugging her sister back ( Annie was her family, no matter what, she was ), and when she pulled back, seeing the grin on Annette’s face just made her feel happy. Her brother and Annette were going to be MARRIED soon, and they were happy. When it was her turn to talk, to answer the million dollar question, she shrugged, “I’m -- I’m good, you know?? I can’t complain. Do you think I need advice?? I want to talk more about how gorgeous Annette Longbottom sounds.”
