Perhaps he was giving the human race too much credit. The doctor looks down at the small girl curling close to his metal front. It’s almost like the squishy things don’t know any better, being all fragile and getting into danger. Star’s thank you does throw him off a bit and his features soften just a tad.

You guys ever just think about KO’s home Velocitron and how terrible it was? Cause I think about that at least once a day. Then make it worse by thinking of what it could have been like in TFP had it been introduced. Yeesh.

A simplification of the process, but it serves its purpose well enough. The worry is new — and, while Knock Out could make any look appear endearing, worry flashing ‘cross his optics doesn’t suit his fancy. And, for one reason or another, the former dream demon wanted to wipe it away, to replace it with something greater, something reminiscent of happier instances. He’ll deal with the complications revolving this… situation… later. Instead, he has more dire things to apply his attention to; like how well his performance was received! A grandiose bow, then another, one last one – and hey, maybe theatre wasn’t only OVERDRAMATIZED FAIRY TALES MADE BY THE DESPERATION OF MAN.

“OH PLEASE, YOU SHOULD’A SEEN ME BACK IN MY HAYDAY! MAKIN’ DEALS, BREAKING BONDS, PRETENDING TO BE HURT OVER SAID BROKEN BONDS, PRETENDING TO EXTEND A HAND OF FRIENDSHIP ONLY TO SWIPE IT AWAY LAST MINUTE… AWARD WINNING PERFORMANCES, LEMME TELL YA. “Well...as long as it’s painless that sounds like quite a show---one I bet you do fabulously.”

And truthfully he wouldn’t be opposed to seeing it. The brief picture that his partner painted might be able to turn others away but it only intrigued Knock Out. Not that Bill needed to know that, after all he’s had his own run-ins with ‘welding’ pieces back together. Granted those patients were robotic, sure, and not organic but still. 

Is that something the demon had to go through by himself?

“If this...does end up happening, I wouldn’t mind being there.”

His optics widen at the tale of Bill’s past deals and he leans forward a little, his interest and enthusiasm bleeding through. What was it like to see the triangle in his element? The drama, the action---and the shameless joy that the demon took in entertaining the racer. He wasn’t aware he was hanging out with such a celebrity! 

“What fun! Your life sounds like one of those human films---were there ever any explosions? Those always add a bit of flare to the dramatics. I wish I could’ve seen what it was like for you to swindle someone with that award winning talent of yours.”

The one-eyed comment catches him off-guard and he’s not sure what to say. His vocalizer makes a fizzing sound, no one has ever been that honest before---the tires on the back of his frame start spinning. 

“I...well...no I suppose we wouldn’t want that. And I would hate to change up the nice view I have of you right now. Aren’t you just a gentlebeing?”

Well, he wasn’t ‘lord’ anymore.

The doctor scoffs and moves to sit beside the ex-warlord putting a large cloth over them. This was his job as a medic, to help people, even if that meant sharing frame warmth with his old leader. He only goes as far to press their shoulders together. 

He’d be lying if he said he was completely comfortable with this, but who would be?

The racer teases and leans against the shuttle, caressing the side of Skyfire’s wing with a servo. Claws stroking the underside of one---

“ Shit, I’m cold, ” but Star stayed a distance from KO because uuuuhh social distancing. She knew KO was uncomfortable around her and she respected that. But damn, the cold weather is killing her. (i read your tags, now where's my cookie ︻╦̵̵̿╤──)

Well he didn’t want her to die---he knew humans could only last so long in cold weather. They turned different colors didn’t they? Oh, Primus, that sounded disgusting.

“No no, come here.”

He’s quick to scoop her up in his servos gently, grabbing a large cloth cover---that should work as a human blanket, right?---and covers them both. The doctor brings her closer to his chassis, the warmest part of his frame and looks down at the small human.

“Is that better?”
