assuming that Kim truly starts to fall for Harry throughout the course of the investigation I think that it would hit him as a series of “oh no” revelations.

like, Kim asks Harry what he thinks about the body and Harry says “I think he’s dead” and Kim starts to almost laugh and then in the back of his mind he goes “oh no, no, not this guy. not the sentient hangover who can’t remember his name. please no.”

and then Harry is outrageously good at pinball. like, way better than anyone Kim has ever met (and that’s saying something since he used to be a pinball wizard himself). he even found a secret about Gurdi-Ball Kim’s never known or even heard about. and he’s like “no no no no, this man literally smelled like a booze filled corpse when I met him. come on, this isn’t fair.”

this man, who argues with his necktie and can’t stop making that stupid smirk that’s vaguely sympathetic (but mostly pathetic), somehow not only wins Kim’s trust and respect but also his affection and I bet that pisses Kim off so much.
