 [And the realization that she has all rights to feel that way hits her right this moment, eyes widening. She’s so used to keeping people at arm’s length it hasn’t even crossed her mind to use her best friend’s name.

What a terrible friend she is if her feelings have made her forgot such an important detail. 

Forgetting her embarrassment for the sake of honesty, Kaori looks up at her friend with apologetic eyes.]

it’s not a turn of events she’s used to. kaori’s kindness really knows no end, does it? 

by the time she’s done speaking, miho’s frown already has turned into her usual big, goofy grin. she even takes her friend’s hands in hers, lightly squeezing them. heck, she goes the whole nine yards and starts nuzzling them on her cheek. she could even smooch kaori right now, if not for the crushing fear of rejection! how shameless! ]

[ geez. she’s reacting as if kaori had just told her she’d marry her. ]

[A beat. That probably sounded so agressive, and her face heats up with the realization. Hands flying to her braid, she clears her throat and her look manages to soften up.]

[Though she’s doing a very poor job of seeing her like that lately. Good one, Kaori! And tell your chest to stop doing that painful little beat already!!]

[ she’s about to apologize when kaori’s answer comes like she should know-- which hey, actually, she should. it’s obvious they’re as close as friends can get.

but getting verbal confirmation is pretty relieving, honestly. 

and because there’s really no tiptoeing around it by now, it would actually be the slightest bit disappointing considering her massive crush if that’s what her mind was set on right now. but it isn’t, luckily! bless her little one track mind. ]

i’m not dead, i just got back from my parents’ aaaaaall the way down in kyushu!

it was. uh. okay! christmas illumination was really pretty, new year’s food was delicious and my omikuji said i’d have good luck!!!

all my middle school friends turned out to have a boyfriend by now so i spent christmas with my parents too, ha... haha. it was boring as heck.
