telechristina:
Christina looked up to meet his gaze as he linked his hand with hers, tearing her eyes from the familiar scene unfolding before her. She felt herself calm, if only slightly. She nodded and took a deep breath. “They haven’t touched the money.” Christina began, noting the bag of money that had remained on the floor ever since the bank teller had placed it all into the bag. The majority of the men hadn’t even bothered looking at it. “It is usually a grab and go. There’s no use taking hostages if you don’t need to. It’s just a scare tactic usually, to avoid trouble.” She learned both from her own second hand experience of a robbery as well as from conversations that occurred in prison that this was not in line with the norm. “If they have what they want, then why are they still here? The police haven’t arrived yet.” The brunette pointed out, gaze moving outside the window and there was no sign of flashing lights.
His eyes slid slowly over to the money as he tried not to draw attention to themselves and saw that she made a good point. It was strange considering this was suppose to be a robbery and then they’re just standing around not even collecting more and trying to run. As far as he knew, hostages only came into play when there were police surrounding the place and it seemed that there were no police to be found. “You’re doing great, okay. What else have you noticed?” He questioned, trying to keep her distracted and her mind busy. “What do you think the end game is? Their thoughts are too confused for me to pick apart. Not even they’re sure of why they’re here.”
casstheseductress:
The male made a valid point. “Well, it’s a bit hard to try and work out who that would be from all the way over here.” She replied with a small sigh. “How about that young one, he looks pretty nervous, new to this maybe?” Cass suggested discretely looking over at the male she was talking about.
“No, you want to avoid him. His thoughts are---” He paused as he scanned his thoughts with furrowed brows, not liking what he was hearing. “Let’s just say a lot darker than the rest. He wants one of us to do something stupid. If anything we need him taken out first with whoever you do get on side.” Tristan hated that he was talking so casually, as if it wasn’t someone’s life he was talking about. “That one over there. The older one that’s staying out of the arguments with a bored look on his face.” He lifted his chin in the direction to indicate as he continued to scan the thoughts of those around him.
theweaponmaker:
“That would be the preference.” Alec nodded. It was always a lot easier when he didn’t have anyone but himself to worry about. “Well that works in our favour.” He ran his tongue along his bottom lip in thought. “So we turn them against each other. Or we get one of them on our side.” Those were the cleaner versions. “Or, we make a distraction, obscure the area and those,” he nodded towards the cameras in the room, “and I can put them down… Lethally or non-lethally. I might need help with that one.” He could practically hear Tavia yelling at him as he suggested it. “Unless, you had any ideas you need a hand with?”
“Look, I can hear their thoughts. I can track what they’re going to do next, possibly preempt their movements.” Tristan scrubbed his hand over his forehead as he tried to explain while think of a plan but still listen out in case anything changed. “Turning them against each other is definitely a possibility. They’re not exactly trusting of each other at the moment, not with the last minute change of plans. They’re-- confused.” The telepath tilted his head as he glanced over to the closest guard who was almost grumbling in his thoughts. “There’s a couple people here who could probably help. You mentioned the cameras?” He nodded his head over in the direction of the bank teller who was originally grabbed in the beginning and had set of the alarms. “You’ll want to speak to her. She could help create some kind of diversion.”
theweaponmaker:
“I can take them out, but there might be casualties, so we’re going to need to be a bit smarter about this.” He said, keeping his voice low. “Can you tell what their plan is?” He asked. “I know those two don’t have a clue.” He gestured subtly to the two younger men who seemed a little worried. It looked like not everyone was clued into how this was going to go.
“Whoa, I don’t like the sound of someone getting hurt. Well unless of course it’s one of them.” He couldn’t help but think of his best friend and how he had become a casualty. “Not even they’re sure on what the plan is. It’s why they’re all arguing.”
“Look, have you got a plan because what I’m hearing--” He trailed off not wanting to risk the others over hearing and freaking out.
casstheseductress:
“I just need to get close to one of them, close enough that I can touch them… any idea how we can get that to happen?” Cassandra asked the person sat opposite her under her breath making sure the gunmen wasn’t watching them talk.
“Not just one of them. You’re gonna need a specific one who is going to be more susceptible.” Tristan muttered, his eyes never leaving the guard. “You risk bringing too much attention to us if you chose someone you’re going to have to work harder or is unlikely to fall for it. Last thing you want to do is pick someone that would never fall for it and draw the others attention.” He rambled off quickly, following along with her train of thought. His own ideas already forming to bounce off her own. Tristan scanned each of their thoughts, searching.
telechristina:
Hearing the familiar voice to the side of her, she felt her muscles relax if only slightly. “It’s just so familiar, Tris…” She said quietly, her eyes darting between one armed man to another. The only difference was last time her fiance got caught up in the mess. And she retaliated. Christina wondered if trying to help was the right option if it would result in the same consequences. “Different, too. This is more than a robbery.” She whispered, turning to him in an effort to confirm her suspicions.
“You’re not alone in this, okay? I’m here.” Tristan slipped his hand into hers as he linked them together and squeezed gently to let her know he was here and she was in the present rather than wherever her thoughts were taking her. He could only imagine what she was going through right now and how many bad memories it brought back, the reminder of what happened was enough to have him on edge never mind how she would feel. It was practically written all over her face. “Different how? What have you noticed Chris?”
telechristina:
There was something a bit too familiar about the situation she found herself in, and she couldn’t help the images that were flashing into her mind, causing her chest to tighten and her heart to race. She could almost smell the blood that hadn’t even been spilled in the present yet, but was certainly a part of her past. “Oh god…” She said under her breath, hand coming up to cover her mouth.
Tristan had heard their thoughts on approach, managing to hear them before even seeing them, giving himself a slim advantage of preparing himself. He had originally moved closer to the guard who held the only weapon in the building, aiming to stop him from pulling any hero stunts and risk getting others hurt. The telepath’s suspicions had been confirmed when the first thing Security went to do is pull his gun, only to be stopped by Tristan’s hand and a shake of his head. Now they were being rounded up and shoved to the back of the bank, as the thieves continued to talk in hushed angry whispers, he continued to scan the thoughts of the people in the room. Discretely, the telepath moved slowly over to the female and got as close to her as he could. “Hey, don’t be freezing up on me now..” He whispered as he gently nudged her to gain her attention. “We’re going to be okay.”
