the only reason seo-yeon goes along with being called ‘cupid’ is because her manager believes it makes her more popular (cupid is a cute name, people like the idea of love, etc.) 

one of her signature moves (name still pending) is blowing a kiss to the criminal. her quirk is the emitter type and will travel to whomever she targets, but as her manager tells her, it’s cute !

sometimes seo-yeon really wonders if it’s worth being a popular hero if she has to subject herself to things like this.

QUIRK HEADCANON(S) !

i put the basics down on her about page but here are some headcanons i have regarding seo-yeon’s quirk that i didn’t know where to put since it would probably be tied into her backstory ?? ANYWAY !

it’s listed as LOVE MANIPULATION ━━ meaning she induces the feelings of LOVE and it makes the target believe they are in love with her. this of course makes them… not want to attack her allows her to apprehend them without much of a fight. 

she is, however, capable of hand-to-hand combat (more on that later because i have to research which fighting styles i think would suit her best)

THIS QUIRK IS NULL AND VOID IF : the person in question is already in love with someone else OR the person in question is aromantic. 

while she had debuted under the name VENUS, the public began calling her CUPID and (much to her chagrin) that is the name that stuck. this means, yes, her name at school is ‘cupid-sensei’. 

in the public eye, seo-yeon is the embodiment of what someone who harnesses love would be : cute, energetic, she poses for cameras and signs autographs for her fans. 

during school and private times, however, seo-yeon is much more subdued. i wouldn’t call her cynical towards love, but she’s very ??? unsure of how she feels about it. mainly because due to her quirk, she’s had relationships in the past where she’s been accused of using her power to make people fall in love with her (she hasn’t, but you know…)
