What made you devote yourself to the deities you currently worship? Was it a pull from deep within your soul, did you look for signs, did their story resonate with yours, were you looking for someone that could help with your troubles?

a reminder that you don’t need to be perfect to be a witch.

you don’t need a full altar. you don’t need to do daily rituals. you don’t need to have memorised correspondences, or even fully know what path you’re walking yet. witchcraft is not about productivity. it’s not a race to be powerful. it’s not about who knows the most, or whose practice is the most aesthetic.

your magic is valid if it’s small. your practice is valid if it’s quiet. you are valid if you’re still figuring it out.

"Hermes is the god of thieves so he's fine with art theft!" No.

"Dionysos wouldn't mind it he's chaotic!" No.

"Hephaistos is a machinery god and AI is machinery so it's okay!" No.

"The gods wouldn't even care they just want offerings!" No.

There is not, and never has been, a reason to offer the gods AI art. It requires absolutely no effort or thought on your part as a worshipper, which defeats the purpose of an offering.

Do not support the use of AI art at ALL, much less as something given to Them.

Sing.

Do a craft.

Write a letter.

Draw.

Dedicate a task.

Please do not offer those you worship something so lackluster and thoughtless as a computer generated image that destroys our environment and piggybacks off the works of others.

Quite honestly, it is disrespectful both to your fellow humans to appropriate yourself their work through the use of a machine that requires no effort from you, but also to the gods who receive a mindless and effortless offering that causes more harm than good.

It might be an against AI biased opinion from a young witch and hellenic pagan, but I believe that your offerings must be respectful toward the earth itself from which you pick your material to gift it to the gods, and nothing is more disrespectful than destroying the planet for a piece of art that would have meant so much more if you had created it yourself.

Also as an Hephaestus devotee, I trust that even if He's a machinery God, he would disregard and even dislike the use of AI for it is a faulty machine in which you did NOT contribute to the creation of. Your use of someone else's talent for creation, be it the art or the building of the AI itself, isn't something he would reward you for nor appreciate. If you want to please him, write some lines of codes in his honor, name your new robotic project after him or something he'd enjoy and pmace it on your Altar if you can.

TLDR: Do not use the gods to justify actions that will harm others or the planet.

🔥 Subtle Hestia Worship 🥖

Clean your room/house; keep your home in good condition

Make your space your own; decorate your room/home in a way that makes you feel good

Help out with household chores

Bake pastries for those you love, especially those topped with honey or cinnamon

Drink a soothing tea or hot chocolate; any sort of comfort drink; add honey to it if you can

Eat comfort food, especially from childhood

Have a picture of her in your wallet

Make a bonfire for her; gather around it with loved ones

If you have a fireplace, spend time around it

Have a candle that reminds you of her (no altar needed)

Wear jewelry that reminds you of her

Have a stuffed animal of a pig, cow, or donkey; have any stuffed animal, really

Have imagery of cranes, fire, or kettles around

Try veiling in honor of her, if able

Try growing poppy or hollyhock flowers

Volunteer at a homeless shelter

Make a warm meal for someone in need

Give baked goods to neighbors

Learn how to cook or bake

Care for yourself physically and mentally

Be as kind to yourself as you are to others

Practice modesty (this does not mean never celebrating or taking pride in yourself)

Host parties/celebrations at your home, especially those that welcome in family (found family works just as well)

Read a book to relax

Wear comfortable clothing; robes, slippers, sweaters, etc.

Learn how to make homemade bread

Learn how to crochet, knit, sew, etc.

Support local food banks; donate to them, if able

Donate toys to children in need

Donate clothes to others in need, especially warm clothes

Cook yourself/loved ones a delicious meal

Practice body positivity

Relax and decompress after a long day

Watch comfort movies or shows; engage in media that comforts you

Seek out wholesome stories online; humans helping one another, rescue animal turnarounds, cute puppy/kitty vids, etc.

Creating carvings/sculpturs; wood, soap, soapstone/gemstone, clay, etc.

If you're struggling with a disability, being kind and gentle with yourself; you are doing the best that you can

If struggling with medical conditions, research your treatment options; be well-educated on the subject to know your rights

Keep a picture of him in your wallet

Wear jewelry that reminds you of him

Collecting volcanic rocks

Have a candle that reminds you of him (no altar needed)

Have a donkey or crane stuffed animal

Have imagery of cranes, anvils/metalworking, or fire (cranes would likely be good for a Christian household)

Treating your body kindly; taking care of yourself physically

Support homeless shelters or organizations that assist the disabled

Light a bonfire in his honor; gather with loved ones around it or sit alone in peace

Make your house a home; honor your space, and make it your own

Try new hobbies/activities that allow you to work with your hands, especially creative and inventive endeavors

Learn about technology; try your hand at computers and the like

Support small businesses and artists, especially those that sell handmade items

Learn how to build/craft things, such as bird houses or diorama-like art pieces

Practice self-acceptance; give love to yourself, especially when you're having a difficult time

Take time to meditate alone or simply decompress by yourself for a bit

Drink hot chocolate, tea, or any warm and comforting drink

Making a list of positive things you encounter throughout the day; try doing this each day

Embracing all of your feelings, but allowing them to be felt and released

Practicing patience; a lot of handiwork and craft work will help with this

Spending time with loved ones, especially found family

Playing video games you enjoy

If you have any walking aids or similar, customizing them and making them your own

Having pictures of ancient Greek architecture around, especially the Temple to Hephaestus

Learning a new skill; improving learned skills

Selling your personal art/crafts; taking commissions for your work

Practice independence if it's something you struggle with (I'm not suggesting you isolate)

hey does anyone have advice or ideas for low effort worship that would still be recognised or appreciated by the gods?

i have been wanting to connect with lady hestia for a while, I made an altar not long ago, but since I made it, its just, sat there, because I've been wanting to connect and worship and all that, but Ive been going through a bunch of mental health stuff for a while and its been hard to do anything that isn't an afterthought, and by that point it feels like I just shouldn't do anything because I feel bad always making things the afterthought, but its been really hard trying to do things properly and to be honest I don't really even feel like I should be doing this because I'm not putting in the effort I should and I don't really know what I'm doing

so anyway, anyone got advice?

I’m a chronically ill worshipper so I’ve actually made a couple posts on the topic! I’ll link them below 🧡 I was drawn to Hestia in the height of mental and physical health challenges and find that any effort made is meaningful—especially so when everything is so hard.

Most days I simply plug in the wax warmer on Hestia’s altar and make sure the glass of water is full, maybe say a quick prayer or even simply “for Lady Hestia”. If I make a cup of tea for myself I make one for the altar as well as an offering. So much of what I need to do to survive and take care of myself are also things I associate with Hestia.
