-Facts and Info for the Love Au-

Where do they live?

The cast lives in a kingdom that was created by Cupid long ago. However there are other smaller towns and villages. And there is a small camp outside the kingdom where the Abstracted live.

Who is Cupid?

Not a lot is known about Cupid, he is considered their god though. He created their kingdom, and Love itself. Although he never showed his face, he was pretty connected with his people. Talking to them and answering prayers. But slowly he stopped interacting with his people even to those closest to him like Queenie. Only speaking to Kinger, until one day when he created Caine. And just disappeared, leaving no answers and a mountain of unanswered prayers. This ended with quite a few of their people abstracting in this time, including Ribbit.

What is Abstraction in this Au?

Like I've mentioned abstraction happens when an individual gives up and can no longer feel any type of love; platonic, romantic, familiar, ect. They are left in a constant state of apathy and self interest. Although lucid, they no longer care. As such most leave and live with other Abstracteds. To their society, they are viewed as dead and are mourned. Abstraction usually happens when an individual has felt deep constant emotional pain. They urge people to stay away from the Abstracteds.

What is Caine?

He doesn't even know the proper answer as he doesn't even know what Cupid is. He has theories but nothing concrete.

What's the deal with Pomni?

She's a traveling Jester, trying to cheer up the people. She's more silly and a bit more Sassy compared to canon Pomni. Bit still struggles with anxiety, especially after the rise in Abstracteds. She now resides in the kingdom for the moment.

How has the aftermath of Cupid's disappearance been on everyone?

It's been very hard, but they've been hanging on. Some blame everything on Caine, some accuse Caine of not telling them where Cupid is even though he "knows". Abstraction is on the rise, and this they view as a direct result of being abandoned by Cupid. However Caine and Kinger are struggling even more. Kinger after the loss of Queenie was also accused of lying to the people. And Caine has to deal with the aftermath, as well as their future, and being watched as he does it.

What is the deal with Caine's Heart or Love Core?

So Caine was born with a weak and fragile heart, if it shatters they believe he'll die.

What's up with Prayers?

Prayers are wishes and sometimes demands that are made towards Cupid and Eventually Caine. Thousands are delivered every day.

Can I make fan art or fan fics?

I'm working on a horror au for tadc, here's Caine+ some Caine doodles for this Au. Since it is a horror au, I've added some warnings and added content warning as well. Side note I think I've been improving on drawing Caine. I used to be real bad at drawing him lol.

the love au just comes across like ‘aromantics are bad’ tbh…

I can understand why you might think this at first glance. However like I mentioned in a previous post, Aromantic people are not considered Abstracted. Aromantic people feel little to no romantic love, it's a spectrum just like Asexual people. But also Aromatic people feel Platonic love, they love their friends and family. That sort of thing, now this is completely different to Abstraction. Which is them going into a state of extreme apathy, and not feeling any kind of love romantic and platonic, any, They consider their previous loved ones and family as strangers. Now Abstraction is considered like death to their society, however this does not mean it's correct or right of them to think this.

So regardless, Aromantic people would not be considered Abstracted. And in this Au no one has any issue with Aromantic people, they are free from the expectations that they have to date/marry anyone.

I hope this helped to clarify. I myself care about Aromantic people and would hate if my Au came across like that. If you have anymore thoughts, questions, or want more clarification please let me know.

I think your concept for abstraction in the Love AU is quite interesting. The fact that they’re still around but essentially “dead”, loveless husks of their old selves. Sounds like it’d be more painful for their former loved ones, in a way.

Is there any way their state could be potentially reversed/healed, or are they doomed to stay like that forever?

Secondly to answer your question, no. Well to be more precise, in the story so far there is no known cure. This is why alot of the citizens are angry at Caine and Cupid. How could their God and King not have any idea of how to fix this? How can Kinger the most intelligent doctor they have, only have a small fraction of an idea of what this even is? Especially since abstraction has been on the rise. As I've mentioned before Abstracted people are mourned and viewed as dead. So to see them walking in town, still walking but completely dead in almost every other way is torture to the citizens who have lost loved ones in this way. But this is only so far, and there's much more coming. So there may or may not be a cure for abstraction in the story in the future. An attempt at my Love Au Pomni and Ribbit in Ibispaint. I normally draw in Medibang, so this was a bit of a challenge. Anyways, the flower Candytuft has a specific meaning, one that is important to the context of Pomni and Ribbits relationship. Each character in the love au has a flower that represents them, and another for their relationships.

Love Au Caine, Cupid, and Kinger

I struggled a bit with Cupid's design but I think I'm happy with it. He as shown has multiple sets of wings, with a set folded over his face resembling a heart. This is why his symbol is a heart with wings. I also kinda struggled with drawing kinger in this piece lol, but hopefully he doesn't look too wierd.

So there was a short time before Cupid disappeared, but after he made Caine, and they hung out together. It was a short moment of peace.

I'm not 100% happy with the anatomy but regardless I hope you like it.

Here's a Love Au Caine drawing I did. The first crack in his love core or heart, came at a surprise to him at first. But he never told anyone, never wanted anyone to find out. If they knew their King was less then pure that would lead to unnecessary stress to his citizens. And having added stress could cause more people to Abstract. So he hid it; it wasn't hard as he was above all else a great performer.

Some Kinger + Queenie Love Au info

While Kinger worked directly with Cupid, Queenie worked as a sort of mailman delivering prayers to Cupid. They at one point were happy together, until Queenie started to get disillusioned with Cupid. Their King who spent more time hiding away then helping their people. She had to be the one to break the news that their prayers were going to be unanswered. Eventually this tension bled into their relationship, and it started to fall apart when Queenie began to Abstract. Kinger feels a great sorrow and deep regret for letting it get bad enough that she abstracted. She spends her time hanging out with Ribbit and the other abstracteds.

More info for my Love Au Caine :

He is considerably more shy, but still very enthusiastic. He's a hopeless romantic, but regardless of everything just wants to matter to someone. He feels though that he doesn't.

He has very complex feelings for Cupid. Cupid created him and then disappeared with no explanation. Why would their god do this, can he even fulfill his purpose if he doesn't know what he is?

For him the dread lingers, and it's hard to look into a mirror.

Side note : the heart with wings is the symbol for cupid in this Au.

Abstraction + Ribbit in my Love Au :

Abstraction happens when an individual gives up on all love. Romantic, platonic, Familiar, ect. However if a person still feels a type of love then they won't abstract. So Aromantic individuals wouldn't abstract in my Au. In any case, an abstracted individual retain their memories and are lucid but are stuck in a state of overwhelming Apathy. The closer a person is to abstracting the more apathetic they become.

Anyways here's my Love Au Ribbit. They suffer from abstraction, but haunt their old love.
