abt the AU
trigger warnings: horrible ways to die, vague abuse discussion, cannibalism.
'Rotten Scarecrow' follows an undead Jonathan Crane. unlike in canon, he was betrayed and brutally lynched early in his villainy. he came back to life, thanks to a hidden genetic modification induced by his father's extensive experiments.
he is now undead, almost immortal, and seems to only fear betrayal. he is a terrifying force between the cannibalism necessary to fuel his body, his relentless thirst for vengeance (for which he will stop at almost nothing), his absolute distrust of everybody leaving no connections to exploit his one fear with, and having a specific terrifying version of what he will do when he finds the one who killed him.
he reflects his vision on those he takes to satisfy his hunger. they are given an initial gaseous dose of toxin, followed by a direct line of liquid fear toxin to the brain via a hole drilled in the skull. their non vital organs are eaten, and then their bodies are hung. regardless of which part in the process kills them, these steps are always followed, and the bodies are left hung, to be found.
while the AU will eventually branch to horrors being made of other rogues, the Scarecrow will remain as the focus.
