Koko couldn't help but chuckle a bit at his boyfriend's naive response. It was just really cute in contrast to Kozu's intimidating words and appearance.
"Hehe, oh, Kozu. You really do give me more reasons to love you every day, huh? Don't worry about being rusty, though. I'm sure you'll get back into the swing of things quickly. I'll make sure of it."
Koko was being sappy again, but what else was new? He really was in love, wasn't he? It really did feel like a dream come true. Hopefully, they wouldn't wake up from this dream.
It really was a nice day out today. Koko could see the kids out and about playing, adults gardening, and hanging out laundry. Even a Pokémon battle was happening in the distance. As much as he wanted to stop and watch, he was already set to spend time with the hungry Groudon.
"Well, it's been months since you last ate, after all, of course it's been an age. Well, unless you were sleep eating without me knowing." The deity teased. "Guess we should walk a little faster then."
It wasn't long before they reached the place Koko described. A restaurant with both indoor and outdoor seating. In the back of the place, they saw the cooks excavating the traditionally made Kalua Pig from its underground oven.
Wonder if Kozu would be able to sneak in and get some coals from there.
"Heh, I feel the same." He rolled his neck a bit to give it a good crack before stretching his arms again. Even now, he felt a strong compulsion to just let loose and tear the earth asunder just because he could. But... that wouldn't really be socially acceptable to the human populace, and he was certain Koko would be upset about any unnecessary damage to Melemele Island. He will get his time, he told himself inwardly.
The longer the sun beat down on him the more refreshed he felt, like his internal battery was filling up after being empty for so long. He was eager to use all this energy to consume his favorite foods, and indulge in all the things he misses out on when he's in his deep slumbers.
"Fair," he replied simply. "I don't believe I walk around in my sleep... but I think if anyone would know that, it would be you." He gave a light grin, though his expression became a tad sheepish afterwards. "...Thank you for keeping me safe while I slept, by the way. I'm glad you were there to watch over me.."
As they approached the eatery, he already got a whiff of all the food smells wafting in the air. It was so good... As he looked over to Koko, he followed the other legendary's gaze towards the cooks towards the back. His stare became quite intense as his eyes trained on the Kalua pig they were moving about, the urge to tear into its flesh with his teeth in the most feral manner suddenly becoming alarmingly high. He swallowed hard again before giving Koko's hand a light tug. "Come on.. Let's get a seat."
"Does punching rocks to a rhythm count as playing an instrument..?"

The Kissing Hour || Accepting!
Sanctus is, perhaps, ever so slightly inebriated. 'Pickled', one might say. It was a long, lovely night out on the town and now it was time to wind down and relax, which she gladly does by sitting in Kozu's lap the way she always did, resting her head against his shoulder and giving a small chuckle at who-knows-what thought came to her head this time.
"Hmm... crebbit or debbit," she says, miming the act of slipping a card between Kozu's sizable pecs as if paying for a transaction. But what was she buying? Who knows.
At least she's stopped muttering nonsense and is now quite content to simply kiss at Kozu's neck until she gradually begins to doze off.
"Well, lucky you, I'm always up for a good spar... Though, don't be surprised if our sparing matches get moved to the bedroom."
The deity winked at his boyfriend. Hopefully, Kozu was ready to explore the relationship between violence and sex. Assuming that he understood what Koko was getting at.
Regardless, Koko was looking forward to sparring more with Kozu. He knows that he was strong; he wanted to see just how strong his lover exactly was.
"Hehe, well, you seem excited. Maybe I should learn how to use a barbecue. Maybe make some Kula pig for my big man~ Heh, but that's a later thing, let's go to a barbecue place, okay?"
Koko took Kozu by the hand and led him out of his personal domain and the ruins of conflict. Hmm, now where would the nearest barbecue place be? Probably the shopping district in Hau'oli City. Looks like it will take a little time to walk there.
Oh well, the more time with Kozu, the better.
"I might be rusty, but that doesn't mean I intend to lose. I'll be giving it my all, no matter where we end up sparring." He was still very confident in his power after all--he could feel it flowing in his veins with a low thrum. Not to mention he's always been somewhat curious about Koko's capabilities. He was a god of war after all. As for any other nuances... well, he'll come to understand in time.
He did seem a small bit embarrassed as his excitement was pointed out. "...I can't help it. I feel like I haven't eaten in ages." Though the prospect of Koko learning to barbecue certainly was enticing. He could eat the meat and the coals to his heart's content... Ha, it felt like he woke up from a coma and went straight into a dream. He put a hand to his chin, a small grin on his face. "Well, I'll have that to look forward to then. And yes, let's go."
He let Koko lead him out of the domain and outside the ruins. The sun was harsh on his eyes at first, but he welcomed its warmth on his skin. He certainly missed this feeling... the weather in Alola was always impeccable. Though he did have to wonder if his consistent presence there had some sort of influence on it... He gripped Koko's hand rather tightly and eagerly followed after him.

when rayquaza isnt home
#383
Out of the mantle, A burning titan rises, Calling down the sun.
*reaches into lava and pulls out my perfectly roasted chicken breast*
It was one of the good things about living in Alola. The people tried to keep their traditions, so while things might change with the times, Alola at its core doesn't.
"Heh, I'll be counting on you then when things get less peaceful. Oh, if you're going to Kalos, make sure you head for Lumiose City. I heard that's where most of the excitement is happening."
Oh, was cuddling done? Well, guess that made sense. Kozu had already slept for months after all. Well, that was fine, as long as Koko was around his lover, he was happy.
"Meat, huh? Well, I think the only answer to that is to go out for barbecue. Maybe if we're lucky, you'll be able to eat the coal as well. Sound good for you?"
He gave a small grin. "Though if that's the case.. I'll have to spar in the meantime, to make sure I don't get rusty." Though, he couldn't get too rowdy, or rayquaza might have some choice words for him. That oversized snake would find him anywhere... A bit annoying, but he didn't want to cause them any more trouble anyways. It was by and far absolutely worth it to avoid their wrath.
As soon as Koko mentioned barbecue, his thoughts went wild with plates piled high with many layers of juicy, tender meat and adorned with the smokiness of actively flaming coals--ones that would crumble delightfully between his teeth. He swallowed hard. "Yes-" he said suddenly, maybe a bit more loudly than he had intended. He quickly cleared his throat. "..Erm, yes please. That sounds delicious.."

Step, step, clack! Step, step, clack!
Alone meandered a child, each step uncertain but a look of determination on their face as they trudged onwards with the help of a gnarled walking stick--clearly no more than a branch found along the ground, but perfectly suited for such a purpose.
Having two legs seemed so strange, but then again, everything seemed strange. Having been born in a realm outside of space and time meant having no physical form, and now the child is nothing but physical. How they regret not spending more time in the mortal realm; their brother had spent countless years taking on countless forms, so taking the shape of a human came naturally to him. But as for Sanctus, they were... shy. Nervous. What if they were not as liked as their brother? What if their inexperience lead to harm of some sort? What if they weren't good enough?
Now it was too late, and none of that mattered.
Now, they were the infinite made finite, an eternity cut down and stuffed into a tattered sack. A being that should be all-knowing, all-present, now well and truly little more than a lost child with a stick, hardly able to see the path ahead of them.
Taking a moment to stop and glance around, they leaned their face against the gnarled branch, a soft cheek squishing comically against the dead wood. How long had they wandered? What was this... heaviness in their limbs? Was this what it meant to be 'tired'? Pathetic. How pathetic! Tears stung at their eyes and they let out a frustrated huff, kicking at the ground as if it were the earth's fault--only to lose their already delicate balance and tumble down.
Gods don't tumble. Pathetic. Useless. To have devolved to such a state that they would lash out at dirt itself. Dirt! DIRT!
The child, the dirt-kicker, the unsteady broken thing, sat there and pulled their insubordinate legs to their chest, hugging their knees and hiding their face between them as their shoulders trembled. Where was everyone? Their brother, their sisters, the humans that took them in and called them family, first out of duty and then out of love... Where were they?
Not here.
So the child wiped the tears from their face (in vain, they poured endlessly from the vast sea behind their eyes) and took hold of the branch once more, getting to their feet and continuing on in search of someone, something, anything familiar.
Step, step, clack! Step, step, clack!
He glided effortlessly through the dirt underneath the surface, the earth bending to his will around him. Like this, he was at one with the earth around him and he could feel every vibration from the surface. Among all the expected ones, he could feel some oddly placed vibrations from what he could only assume was a rather small source based on how faint they were. But... this source was nowhere near any sort of settlement, and though the vibrations of their footsteps were somewhat strange he could still conjecture that it was a human that was making them.
Curiosity took hold, and he turned to move towards the surface now. He carefully broke the surface, poking his very human-looking head up in order to look around. There.. it did seem to be a child, and they were all by themselves. No wonder they looked so distressed.. He pulled an arm out which he used to skillfully pull himself the rest of the way out of the ground, covered from head to toe in all manner of dust and dirt.
He easily caught up with the small one as they were moving so slow, but the closer he got the more he got a strange feeling. Even so, he decided to continue to act on his original instincts. If something was amiss, he trusted he was strong enough to handle it. He leaned down to tap the small one on the shoulder. "Excuse me.. Please don't kick the dirt, it has done nothing wrong."
