For real tho according to the ADA mini horses are considered service animals and airlines can’t really refuse. Like not really
The ADA does not cover commercial air travel in the United States (it falls under the Air Carrier Access Act). The reason this made the news is that Southwestern formalized their service animal policy and for the first time, clearly defined limits on the animals allowed in cabins. The ACAA has a wider definition of service animal than the ADA, but pigs and monkeys are to be considered on a case-by-case basis, and reptiles, serpents, hedgehogs, ferrets, possums/sugar gliders and non-household birds are banned.
I actually did not know this thank you for the info! Ill def read more up on it!
There's seems to be a lot of people conflating emotional support and service animals. While they're not mutually exclusive, service animals are generally dogs, sometimes mini horses in specific cases, and in some local municipalities cats (but that's a very dicey slice of legislation that I really only applies to those localities).
The Air Carrier Access Act governs the allowance of assistance animals on flights- which can be both ESAs and SDs/SMHs. Emotional support animals are not covered by any federal access laws- they are beholden to specific housing laws and the ACAA. This is why they only have pubic access rights in planes and non-pet-friendly housing. Because there is no specific and required training or species for emotional support animals (as their presence near their human is enough for the human to generate oxytocin and feel therapeutic effects), pretty much any animal can be an ESA- Parrot, hedgehog, snake, fish, pig, ferret, rat, tarantula.
Any space where the general public is allowed still reserves the legal right to deny any service dog team access, even if they're on their best behaviour and the handler is disabled as heck IF the animal's presence fundamentally alters the goods and services provided (surgical room) or the animal cannot be safely accommodated (while some theme park rides are safe, most are not).
Any responsible mini horse handler also knows they can't fly long distances with a mini horse for the horse's health and safety. They also tend to buy an extra seat next to them in bulkhead so the horse has enough footspace to stand (service animals should never be on pubic seats/tables unless they are actively tasking for their handler in the only way possible at that moment)

I'm apparently very amused by Karl trying for like a minute or two to catch this lil drone. #oneofthecackles
Because we can't remember the exact day I asked for clarification on what our relationship was, but remember it was in the first days of my return return trip to Colorado taking him up in his invitation to watch the eclipse with him. I drove all the way from Texas and then met him in the parking lot at his office so that we could witness the eclipse together. Our first kind-of date was in July, around the time Karl outed Chris for his anxiety over being alone with me, but we hadn't talked about our feelings at that point. . . . Since we can't remember the exact day, we do know the day of the eclipse and decided to use that as our anniversary. Yesterday marks one year together, according to that date. Goodness knows I'm just gonna celebrate an anniversary month 💝 and I'm even more smitten, more in love with, and more loved by @drlight than a year ago. Thank you so much for taking care of me ❣️
I keep forgetting to give a #chiagreens update. These lol bbs move around a lot in accordance with the sun (we don't get full sunlight on the balcony either), and now that they're quite large they seem to be much more affected by not watering and form this fanned out shape, but flatter.
I wonder what Dwight would have to say about that ad
He's such a dork #laaaaaaatergram

Southwest is about to allow miniature horses when the ACAA and ADA both give entities the legal right to deny giant breeds/mini horses solely based on the size, in the case that the size of the assistance animal cannot be safely accommodated. Airplanes are beholden to the ACAA, which has the size denial allowance for safety reasons. If they can address safety reasons (which would likely at least require more cabin space per passenger, which we know airlines are always trying to reduce), then I welcome and demand more accessibility. But they must address these supposed safety issues, even if it's admitting they were unethical/illegal fake reasons to deny certain disabled teams. . . . Anybody with a service dog, anybody who flies, anybody working in the airline industry, anybody: thoughts?
Karl is as tall as me. Short for an adult human, average for a dog probably.
Friday mood (at Denver, Colorado)
This restaurant knows exactly what questions to ask of service dog handlers. All else are required eat at the patio. (at City, O' City)
