Enemy of Life and Freedom? Mediocrity.
So I’m at one of the local drug stores (honestly, there is like two. Plus the one inside the grocery store) and I’m trying to find a “natural” moisturizer and by “natural” I just mean one that isn’t supplied by a big chain, and I don’t want to get in trouble for naming one out loud so let’s just say Junebelline and O’Hay. Furthermore... I’m looking for one similar to the one I had previously bought from there but was discontinued. I bought it, or I should say, several, because they came in small, decently prized containers like $4 a piece or something, from the “discontinued” bin. To complicate things, I couldn't remember the name of the one I have at home. So I knew it was a long shot to find it, but if I could find one similar to it - we’d be golden. Anyway, I couldn’t find anything so I ask one of the clerks if she could help me out, who in turns says wait a minute, let me get our worker who is more knowledgeable about this, to help you out. So, she brings out “P”, and I’m not big enough to get in trouble with naming people without their consent on this blog... but I’m not going to risk it.
“P” is helping me out and I tell her what I’m looking for, and that I don’t know the name of the brand I have at home to boot, and after a brief moment of looking around, takes me to one of the “big chain” sections and points out a moisturizer. One that looks like it belongs in a game of some sort, I mean, the jar was radioactive blue - far from the organic vibe I tend to seek out from products (I don’t know of any natural organism that is vibrant like that unless it is poisonous). I still try it out on the back of my hand, sub-missing to her request and well, I wasn’t really sold to begin with so... I say it’s not quite what I’m looking for, although she mentioned it’s what she uses. I told her I’d like to stick with something I already use. Oil-based is what I was out for. So, she compliments my skin like it was something that she noticed before and now had the opportunity to say (how sweet), and asks me to let her know what the name of the product is that I use. I did explain it’s not just the product, but I have developed a good cleansing routine including a automatic scrubber/brush for a deeper clean. I’d say that made the big difference. Not too long ago I was in that store looking for an automatic scrubber but they didn’t have any to my surprise. And I’m pretty sure I talked to her back then too. But anyway, I luckily found one in a bargain store, for a bargain price. There are probably more expensive ones out there, a little better quality - which is my point. I already bought the facial cleansing soap, toner and the beauty pads from that drug store, but it’s too bad I couldn’t find a cleansing brush like the one I was out for.
Same is the case with the moisturizer. The kind I like isn’t there anymore and there isn’t anything like it there. Anyway, I think I’m going to make it a point that carrying some of these products is worth it. Like, I can’t be the only one looking out for these items? And I’m still an old-fashioned shopper - I don’t do much of the online stuff. I think I’ve bought maybe 5 items in total my whole life, online. I’m ok with it though because I know I’m helping support my community and stores by shopping local.
I guess I’ll let you know how that turns out for me. Maybe something good will come out of it.
I HATE bonding with a piece of clothing or a pair of shoes. I bought a new pair of shoes to kind of replace the old raggedy ones I have but I’m having a hard time throwing away the old pair. I mean, I like my news ones but “new” doesn’t compare with all the good times I have with my old pair of flats. But even if they weren’t always good times - they were always there. Plus the sentimental value... it was my grandma who gave me those shoes. That woman has always looked out for me.
Anyway, I’m letting go. But I’m not pretending it is easy. And it’s not like I buy shoes all the time - I was taught to be thrifty!
Spring.
Here’s the same season in a new year.. to fall in love with once more. All I can think about is flowers. I love them! I love gifting them or receiving them. I love them inside, outside. I love their duality. I love their synchronicity, their patterns. I love how you can adorn yourself with them or hide in them, like a field of flowers. I love how one can gather them, or spread them. I love how they can stand on their own, or stand out. I love their fragrance. Hmm... what more can I say?
My goal is to fill up this little book with poems I write - the ones that are timeless. I’m going to be quite frugal with this! Who knows how long it will take me.
Spring is one season closer to Summer!
This painting is Summer, midday - when the fields are full and the day is hot!
I love painting fields of flowers. Kind of my go to :)
I don’t think I let other people know just how much God helps me, and how I feel my greatest when praising Him and accepting Him into my life. Through Him and Jesus, I’ve been able to get through a lot in my life. If anyone looks to me for inspiration, I must point up and give credit to Him. I can’t do this alone. I thank Him for the people he has brought into my life and for the miracles He performs for myself and others. He will continue to prove His love to me, that I am certain. We have been through such a journey, but He has protected me and blessed me, daily. He’s shown me so much beauty... and given warnings to the hardships. If it be my testament, I’m going to show how it is Him that gives me strength. How it is that He listens to my and other’s prayers. How He forgives my shortcomings when I can’t. All the signs point to Him. In His name, Amen.

Song of the day! <3
This evening I dabbled in my sketch book. Here’s a snippet of that time. The name of this poem is: Friend, tell me about you?
The book came in! And I read it for two days straight.
I’ve personally not dealt with drugs and addiction, but I have dealt with a troubling past. There is a lot I can relate to, or place myself in, and it’s an eerie familiar feeling... There is also a pod cast interview one can check out:

I was born in ‘92, and the issues involving sex, depression, oppression... loss, heartache, and treacherous paths... seems like it isn’t so different through some generations.
Happy to have read this book and now it’s time for me to return it so someone else may enjoy it ❀
Spring is slowly creeping in - it’s the part of spring that feels like late fall ;D These pics were taken before the last snowfall, although a lot might be melted by now!
Muddy shoes, sunny evening, chilled nose... water trickling, geese flying, crows...

I’m working hard to be free, waiting for you to come to me. I have dreams where i see me, and you too, in my bed, holding tightly. Like a glove, you would fit my life, my world, my reality. And never would there be a doubt of what may or might be. Super fantasy. My day is not whole without at least once thinking of you. My night is almost never complete without the thoughts of you swimming through my imagination. Some might say illusion but I call it a dream. And dreams are meant to be reality, to accomplish our heart’s desire. There is no perverse intonation - what some might want to taint with judgement. But purity beseeks all with the sincerity of a light blue hue, like the skies at midday. Like your eyes, too. But I cannot get started on your features, almost like a secret for me to keep, like treasure. But rest assured that behind this cool exterior, there is a fluttering world inside me, of you.
Created a playlist today. Theme is... chill music for countryside driving in between cities/towns. Enjoy!
Connections
Why do we notice certain things around us? Why do certain things stand out to us? Could they be pieces of a picture we have in our minds? A picture of what? I think we all crave inspiration, we all crave something new. Even those who have their lives so set in a way, a little part of them wonders “what else is out there?” I don’t think it’s necessarily about searching for something better, but about remaining knowledgeable and not ignorant of the other “worlds” out there. I think it’s about experiences and stories to tell, about sharing and adding to the story.
I don’t know how many times I’ve read John 3:16 before, attempted to memorize it, and it was not until I read it with a new friend did I remember what it says, “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life”. Funny enough, I’ve reiterated this quote to myself time and time again. Why is it that now it is etched in my mind, the connection made? I think when we say “life is funny in that way”, it’s really our minds that are funny. (I don’t have an issue being funny, because if I laugh or find something funny, I truly adore it)
We just go through life like this, making connections.
What’s with this weather? <3

There’s a certain beauty in ending a chapter with someone you've grown close to. Like a good book, the chapters come to a close - and left are the memories to flip through.
