+Past and Present+ [Caeda-Cordelia]

Caeda’s pegasus was not the only one receiving an unnerving feeling, as Cordelia’s Kachua was getting restless as well. Cordelia tried to calm her and direct her to the ground until she settled, but before she did, she noticed another pegasus rider in the distance. As Caeda came closer to view, Cordelia noticed she was headed toward her. Cordelia noticed a lance, but since Caeda was not currently holding it, she did not seem to come with the intention to battle. If it was dialogue the other pegasus rider wanted, then it would be better to have it in the ground, and so, Cordelia returned to her original plan of landing. 

She moved the reins of Kachua and made a gesture with her head to Caeda to land in a nearby field with her. Cordelia did not understand what was happening to her pegasus, but as she landed, she heard Nausicaa’s neighs. They were different from her pegasus’s, not just because they were two different creatures. If Cordelia had to guess, Nausicaa was not comfortable with the flight or the environment. On the other hand, although she knew her pegasus for years, she could not understand what her unease was for. There must have been something strange about this pegasus and rider duo, and caution must be taken. 

Cordelia took off her pegasus and walked a few steps towards Caeda as she landed. When Nausicaa had properly settled on the ground, she said, “Good morning.” Although many questions passed through her head, she stayed quiet to await Caeda’s reply.

Several moments passed before Caeda's eyes caught something in the distance. Upon closer inspection, she realized it was another pegasus rider, and she couldn't help but let out a relieved sigh. Though she could tell the other was armed, they too did not have theirs equipped, so there was no need for a fight. Raising her arm, Caeda gave the other rider a wave, but before she could call out a question, she noticed the small head gesture and nodded in understanding. Moving the reins in a specific fashion, she commanded Nauiscaa to begin landing, and within little time her companions hooves tapped against the ground.

The uneasiness Nauiscaa was feeling had not faltered whatsoever, and Caeda ended up having to pet along her mane a few times before Nausicaa finally settled down enough to stand still and quiet. Stepping down from her pegasus, she watched Cordelia walk near her and greet her.

"Good morning," Caeda replied back with a smile. However, her gaze fell upon the other woman's outfit and she blinked. Though she could certainly recognize the common pegasus rider garb, she couldn't quite tell just what nation she fell loyal to. Breaking her eyes off Cordelia, she glanced over at Kachua. Kachua was certainly a pegasus, yes, but something was different about both their pegasi...

She brushed off the thought immediately. "First of all, I must thank you for allowing me a chance to speak to you. I come on friendly terms, I promise! Secondly..." She moved her head side to side, looking around her surroundings before returning her gaze back to Cordelia. "My name is Caeda. I was supposed to make my way to Macedon to visit some friends, but I seemed to have gotten lost somehow... I was wondering if you could tell me where I currently am?"

[OPEN] +A Bad Situation+

This wasn’t good. This wasn’t good at all.

A few days ago, Caeda had gotten news that Sister Lena had fallen terribly ill and was unable to continue tending to the orphans at the monastery until her condition improved. Because the Princess had become quite aquainted with the Cleric during the war, she had decided to give a helping hand with the children alongside Julian (Maria and Minerva were out for a quick business trip) and had left Pales for Macedon when she was but one day sick. This morning Lena had informed her that she was feeling much better, and after a huge thanks from both the Cleric and ex-Thief, Caeda had left the monastery and began to fly back home. However, instead of going back through the grassland like she had on the way to Macedon, she had decided to take the route over the forest, thinking it’ll lead to a quicker return. That decision, however, was what led her to her current position.

“To the right, Nausicaa! To the right!” Caeda nervously told her Pegasus companion, pulling her reins in such a fashion to get Nausicaa to turn correctly and avoid the incoming arrows coming from within the forest. Once Nausicaa was flying in the right direction, the Princess whipped the reins to get her to fly faster, becoming more nervous with each passing second. She knew that if even one of those arrows hit them, it could spell the end for the both of them. Looking around the forest below frantically, Caeda could not pinpoint just where those hidden bow users were hiding and continued to try and fly away from the forest. If she could just reach the grassy plains just up ahead, then her attackers would either cease their hidden assults, or follow her and expose themselves, allowing her to be able to defend herself and attack.

“Almost there.. Keep steady, Nauiscaa..” she softly said, noticing Nauiscaa herself begin to worry. An arrow shot up right past Caeda’s left arm, grazing it, and Nauiscaa jerked towards the right in fright, nearly throwing her rider off. Luckily, Caeda quickly caught her balance and tried to calm her Pegasus down, getting her back to her normal flight within seconds. Sighing in relief and ignoring the stings in her arm, she looked back down and noticed that the arrows had ceased their flight. After a few more seconds of silence, she turned her gaze back forward, believing that the attackers must have given up. Caeda was about to mentally celebrate this escape when a lone arrow whizzed up towards them and stuck itself right into Nauiscaa’s left wing. Giving a cry in pain, the Pegasus was unable to continue flapping correctly and began to fall into the sea of trees below. Now extremely frightened herself, Caeda grabbed onto her winged friend’s neck and let out a scream. Falling several feet down, the both of them were finally silenced when Nauiscaa slammed into a thick tree branch, causing Caeda to lose her grip and slipped off her friend, landing on her injured arm and side hard on the ground. Groaning in pain, she lifted herself up with her right arm and sat up, rubbing her pained areas, eyes closed.

A sudden ‘thump’ to her right snapped her eyes open and she turned her head around, gasping at the sight. “Nauiscaa!” Caeda yelled, lunging forward to hold her Pegasi’s head in her hands. A tear escaped her eye as she heard the animal’s whimpers of pain and nuzzled into her. Looking over at the injured wing, she blinked, now realizing the severity of the situation. Currently, there were an unknown amount of enemies, just of what specific class she was unsure of, around the area and they had most likely seen where they had both fallen and were coming this way. There was no way she was going to leave without Nauiscaa, and so until she could get her Pegasus elsewhere, she had to stay and fight. Standing up and gripping her Wing Spear, Caeda readied herself. Fighting off the gripping pain in her stomach and arm as best she could, she looked around anxiously. She knew that she was at a severe disadvantage as fighting in heavily forested areas such as this was not her specialty, and considering she was injured at the moment.. Caeda needed extra help. Quick. She tightened her grip on the spear as she heard rustling coming from bushes some ways ahead of her.

”..Help..”

+Past and Present+ [Caeda-Cordelia]

This land felt like home to her, yet she knew it wasn't home.

Staring off into the distance, Caeda bore an expression of confusion, surprise, and wonder. The Queen wasn't certain just how she managed to get to her current surroundings, but the longer she stood here, the more this unshakable feeling in her stomach grew. This place... she knew that she had set foot upon this ground before, but the problem was... not only could she not pinpoint exactly when she had, but it reminded her so much of her land of Archanea.

"This can't be..."  It couldn't. The foliage was much different here, the air smelled much different... But what bothered her the most was the fact that the land was no longer damaged. Marth and her had been working on rebuilding everything about Archanea as a whole. How could everything be fixed and (relatively) new so quickly?

It couldn't be home. It wasn't.

Trying her best to shake off the feeling, Caeda let out a small sigh before giving her Pegasus, Nauiscaa, a small petting. Even her faithful companion was feeling a bit unnerved by their surroundings, as evident in her continuous ground stomps and neighs. Once she had been able to calm Nauiscaa down, Caeda climbed on top of her saddle, grabbed the reins, then snapped the reins with a 'hyah!' before flying up into the skies. She needed to find someone and figure out her current whereabouts. This unnerving feeling needed to be broken.

I'm going to retry and attempt Caeda again

However, I'll need to change up some headcanons and stuff... This Caeda is now going to be Post-FE3/12 instead of Post-FE1/11, so she is the current Empress of Archanea. (or Queen... I think Marth was made Emperor of Archanea, so I'll go with Empress for now)

[All right, so with the FEMasterlist gone, this leaves me with some unknown choices for Caeda. I'm not planning on having her go to Ettavia at the moment, instead possibly doing a different character to partake in it alongside Merric. (maybe Julian or Gaia. idk yet gah) So... I think i'll keep Caeda Independent but go on a short hiatus for her. Gotta figure out exactly what I want to do. 

So, again like with Merric, because of the current situation, i'll be dropping all current rps. Hate to do it, but I think it's gotta be done.

Why did I come here again…?

Caeda observed the various nobles and people betting away at the various tables and showing their response every time they lost or won. She watched as folks slapped down various cards and slide chips to them when they won. However the longer she observed them, the more she became confused. How did those people keep winning..? Finding the idea of the gamble to be much too confusing, she sighed and continued to walk around.

That’s right…

The princess had heard many chats about this specific gambling den and had become interested in seeing it for herself. She thought maybe it would be fun to try out some of these ‘games’ she’d heard about, but not only found the stakes to be unfavorable (Betting your own money for a chance to become poor? Not a fan!), but found them to be much too confusing for her to understand how they were play and on winning. Walking over to the bar, she sat down on a stool and waved for the bartender.

“Just a glass of water, please,” she told him. The bartender gave her a nod and passed her down what she had asked for. She took a quick sip and gave a little pout. Despite this being pretty much a waste of her time, she at least was able to satisfy her curiosity of this place. Turning her head, she noticed a young girl walk inside and tilted her head slightly. The clothing she wore bore a striking resemblance to a certain class she knew of.. 

Caeda made a mental note to keep her wits up about herself in here. If that girl was what she thought she was, this could prove to be quite disastrous. Taking another sip, she decided to observe the girl and see what happens.

Cath hummed a song while she discretely left the scene and approached the bar instead. Really, these nobles were pretty stupid to let their guard down like that, but apparently they had needed their concentration for cheating. No one had taken the slightest note of her swiping their coins. Theycan’t even play a single honest game, Cath thought indignantly. 

A drink was just what she needed now. Besides, there was something else of value here that could only be found in ragged down places like this: a bartender’s wisdom. And the young thief knew better than to let a chance like that slide. 

Thankfully the man was smart enough to keep his voice down. It never ceased to amaze her how loquacious people could get if you’d offered them some coins - of course to an outsider it looked like she was simply paying for her drink. And quite the juicy gossip it was she got in return.

Cath gave the bartender a final nod, grabbed her drink, and walked towards the other end of the bar. Ever since she had entered this dump someone had been watching her, and it was pretty stupid to assume that a thief’s sharp eyes wouldn’t notice. 

“Hi there!”, Cath cheerfully greeted the unfamiliar girl. She didn’t look much older than herself, actually, but certainly not like someone who belonged in a gambling den. “Can I help you? I’ve never seen you around here before and… you attract quite some attention”, she continued and motioned towards some guys at a table nearby, who quickly turned away and pretended to be busy playing cards. This place is really full of idiots, Cath thought to herself but kept smiling, to not alarm this stranger. Better safe than sorry, right?

Caeda kept a close eye on the girl while she had talked with the bartender. She had kept her head down and moved her eyes towards the other end of the bar, becoming curious on their conversation. Although she couldn't hear their conversation, she knew something seemed to be a bit off, as a drink like that surely couldn't have cost that much. Shrugging it off for a moment, she looked away and glanced down at her glass. Maybe it was just her imagination..

Hi there!

The sudden greeting next to her caused the princess to jump slightly and turned her head at her quickly. Well that was unexpected. Caeda blinked and paused, looking over at the table the girl motioned to and gave a slight look of disgust at the men. She had been so focused on the girl, she hadn't noticed the wandering looks from them. Letting out a sigh, she shook her head.

"Oh no, it's nothing.. I was just curious on why a girl like you would be here. It doesn't seem like you're here to play," Caeda replied, giving a smile herself. "It's my first time being here. I had heard a lot of stories about this place, and I just came to see what was so great about it. So far though, it seems the greatness factor was a bit over exaggerated."

“Just as I thought, it was worth coming to this place!” Cath grinned to herself as she scanned the city from the rooftop she had climbed earlier. Indeed, the city was brimming with greedy merchants, ready to waste other people’s lives and resources to effortlessly make a fortune. However, what really caught the young thief’s attention was the infamous gambling den she had heard so many rumors about. It was a notorious place for the nobles of this and the surrounding countries to attend and gamble their riches away - they surely wouldn’t mind if Cath relieved them from some of these, before they could waste them at the Black Jack table, right?

In her opinion, it was despicable for the nobles to dawdle away in such places to begin with. The money they were betting there so carelessly undoubtedly had been attained through taxing the people living in what these nobles would call “their territory” and instead of using these taxes for the sake of their domain, they were wasting them here… It was only right for Cath to take these fortunes from them and return them to the people they originally belonged to.

“Alright, time for the master thief to make her appearance! These stupid nobles have no one but themselves to blame for this. Hehe, this should be a lot of fun!”, Cath joyfully exclaimed, as she got on her way to the gambling den. This day certainly promised to become exciting.

[open] Trial and Error

Oscar took a bite into his latest attempt at a spice cookie, hoping to taste something resembling the cookies that the recipe’s originator had made. Not quite there… he frowned slightly at the abnormal crunch of flavours in his mouth, wondering where he had gone wrong this time. The knight had tried several times now to replicate the taste that he had savoured when he first ate the cookie, but it appeared that he had failed again.

There was a whole host of ingredients sprawled over the table in the kitchen, flour and sugar and spices all around him, not to mention various pots and pans and stirring spoons that were in various states of use. If anyone were to walk into the kitchen at this moment, they would probably be bombarded with the smells of various food items, some of which may not have made for the best combination but overall a pleasant smell. Well, at least Oscar thought so.

Looking over his small domain, he sighed. After all this time, and he still couldn’t get it right? It would seem that he would have to find that old lady that had taught him… but he knew that it would probably be a waste of time. It was quite the ordeal to even manage to get the recipe in the first place. 

What to do, what to do… well, he had batches upon batches of cookies. Perhaps someone would come buy and eat a few, and maybe tell him what they thought?

This was probably a bad idea, but Caeda couldn't help it.

Instead of continuing to give a hand in Altea's restoration and doing the necessities at the castle, the princess was taking a quick trip to someplace new and off the continent. She tried to justify her actions by saying that she really needed a small break and get some new fresh air, but she couldn't help but feel a bit bad about leaving like that. Trying her best to shrug off the thought, she had her pegasus land on the ground and hopped off. Looking around, she didn't find herself to be in any particular danger here and sighed.

"Good.. At least we probably won't have to worry about getting into fights here," she told her pegasus as she gently stroked her mane. Nauiscaa in response let out a whinny and sneezed. Letting out a small chuckle, Caeda grabbed Nauiscaa's reins and began to walk off in a direction, not really sure where to actually start looking or go in general. However, the answer to that was shown within a matter of seconds.

Taking a sniff in the air, Caeda paused. Was that... what was that sweet aroma? It smelled quite like.. The princess smiled and turned her head towards the direction of the aroma. Wanting to see if her guess was correct, she walked and followed the smell. After a moment longer, she was led to a home, peeked inside an open window and let out a small squeal. Upon the table was a tray of a certain god given goodie she had expected.

Cookies. 

Caeda was an absolute sucker for these kinds of baked goods and found herself wanting to try one out. Moving her glance over, she saw the baker and blinked. Well.. he seemed to be a nice man, maybe he wouldn't mind letting her sample one. Moving herself entirely in front of the window, she gave a grin and leaned onto the windowsill.

"Hi!"

“Mm. I see then,” Caeda said with a nod about the collars. There was probably a good reason for that, but decided to not press into it further. Instead, she listened to Soren’s answer to her question. Mix? Mix of what? Before she could ask what the mix was of exactly, the question of manakete’s came up.

“Oh,” she said, putting a finger on her chin. How to explain this.. “Well.. they’re humanoid dragons basically. They’re all dragons by birth, but because of something that occurred in the past, they’re able to take on a human form and usually stay in that form. And also because of said past occurrence, they have to have a certain dragonstone in order to change into dragon form,” Caeda explained to him. That was really the best way to explain it to him without dwelling much into their history. She wouldn’t have minded explaining a bit about it, but she had only heard stories about what happened, so the validity could be a bit off.

By this time, the both of them had grown closer to the town and Caeda stared at it with interest. “So what town is this?”

I listened to her explication. At first I thought they were just another name for the branded, but as soon as she mentioned that a stone was needed that was when the label seem not to fit even though it still seem to fit nevertheless; something new to read and investigate that was how I saw it. “Do they have marks of body parts of their dragon form while they are on their human form?” I asked ehr just to verify.

Then once they got to the town I had to take some time to figure out a name. “Flamsteed” I then mentioned as I saw lack of green life. There was only one town like that.

Caeda thought about Soren's question for a moment. Did they? She remembered the two manakete's that joined the army and tried to see if they had anything worth noting or not. "You know.. No actually. The only thing that stood out about them were the pointed ears, unusual skin color for some and the clothing. Some even had fangs. No body markings though." She turned her head at Soren, curious. "Did you ask that because you have people here who fit your description?"

Once they stepped foot into the town, Caeda looked around. "Flamsteed?" she repeated, noticing the severe lack of green life all around as well. "Why.. is it so devoid of plants?" There was only one place that really came to mind that was really devoid of greenery on her continent and that was Khadein. Although that country was a desert, so it was understandable.

Raising her finger, Caeda tapped her chin and let out a small hum. “Well.. I guess that part is different. It’s not really a requirement back home, but you’ll usually see certain pets with something to show that they belong to another. Mainly through a collar or rope.” She shrugged before continuing. “But then again, one continent is bound to have their differences with another.” 

Soren’s comment.. did strike her as a bit cold, but shrugged it off and nodded. She supposed it made sense, so to be asked a question like that could be a bit annoying. “Ah, right,” Caeda mumbled. She continued to walk with him as they got nearer to their destination. 

“So… What kind of people does Tellius house? I know that there are obviously humans, but are there other types of beings? Like maybe Manakete’s?” Caeda asked. Back on Archanea, there were both humans and dragon beings called Manakete’s, and she was just curious on if they had a similarity in the people or a difference.

I undersood what she meant about the collars, but nly people of royalty would find use on that as they would want to keep their pets and able to recognize them. Tellius was full of many poor towns and countries. Having a collar didn’t seem to have an use at all. “That is not a common sight here” I simply commented to query.

I did here her mumble but payed no attention to it as it didn’t matter what her thoughts were on me carrying the bag because once agai if I’m carrying it then that means it is not heavy for me; adding that I dislike greatly when someone offends my strength.

“Some are mix, some are not. “That was the onle yanswer I could offer her as I didn’t want to explain why many laguzs didn’t like beorcs, nor why both hated my kind. “What’s a manakete?”

"Mm. I see then," Caeda said with a nod about the collars. There was probably a good reason for that, but decided to not press into it further. Instead, she listened to Soren's answer to her question. Mix? Mix of what? Before she could ask what the mix was of exactly, the question of manakete's came up.

"Oh," she said, putting a finger on her chin. How to explain this.. "Well.. they're humanoid dragons basically. They're all dragons by birth, but because of something that occurred in the past, they're able to take on a human form and usually stay in that form. And also because of said past occurrence, they have to have a certain dragonstone in order to change into dragon form," Caeda explained to him. That was really the best way to explain it to him without dwelling much into their history. She wouldn't have minded explaining a bit about it, but she had only heard stories about what happened, so the validity could be a bit off.

By this time, the both of them had grown closer to the town and Caeda stared at it with interest. "So what town is this?"
