thinking about how deeply fucking funny the love confession is between westley and buttercup in the princess bride novel.
like first buttercup goes to find westley in his hovel and it goes like this:
then later he comes to find her to tell her he's leaving for america to seek his fortune but he doesn't explain that this is so he can marry her and buttercup assumes he's leaving because she scared him off and he's like are you stupid???:
and anyway i love these fucking teenagers. the film is a perfect adaptation in every way except for they were too old to be confessing their love in just the most ridiculous possible way.
