Heather G first blog assignment
Heyyyy... My name is Heather, My birthday is in June which makes me a Gemini :). I have a beautiful 4 year old daughter. Shes in cheer-leading so my main focus is her & her goals as well. This is my first year as a college student, i’m excited to start a career & finally get my life together. I wanted to get into the medical field but i’m still not sure what exactly yet, i hope i can get the help i need to get me in the right direction of something i really enjoy doing.
Something that i really enjoy doing is cooking & hanging out with my daughter. I’m always trying to cook new recipes that i find online (also baking). I’m good at cooking Mexican dishes, since i’ve grown up watching my grandmother cook all her authentic meals. I love going to the beach as well, we live in the best city so i try to take advantage of it !!!
Brainology is one of the articles i actually “read” and enjoyed in a while. I feel i connected with it right away. I’m in between with the “fixed mindset” and “growth mindset”. There has been times through out my life where i have been in positions of both mindsets. You should never put a limit on your learning and reading this article made me think how i can improve the way i tell my daughter things. I would want her to always have a growing mindset. I’m interested on learning more about “Brainology”. I also agree that learning from your mistakes is the best way to learn anything. Its actually putting your self up for the challenge and puts you in the hands on experience. I want to have the growth mindset and learn as much as i can out of this English class.
