Concept 04
Save the CO2 emissions of the Lockwood furnace to use for more efficient plant growth in greenhouses.
Concept 03
Wood lifecycle system
The valuable resource wood is integrated into a lifecycle to better use its potential as CO2 storage. Therefore it must first be used as building material, then for furniture and lastly can be made into pellets for combustion purposes.
Christian Liesegang:
- We need our wood, our resources to use it in a material way. That means, we need to build houses, we need to build furniture and we have to use it for all the other things… we have to shift these resources...
- if you use wood for example to build a house or to build furniture, you save the CO2…
- if you use wood in a material way you store this CO2 for 10 or 20 years, or maybe 100 years. This is very efficient!
Experts: Hans Hartmann and Christian Liesegang
Concept 02
Combination of logwood stoves and pellet stoves using the adventages of both technologies.
Combination of logwood stoves and pellet stoves
How do pellet stoves work
Christian Liesegang:
- For a passive-house you need very low energy output, one or two kW are totally enough…
- For a one or two kW oven, you have to put a very small amount of wood inside and the people wanna see the fire, so then they would prefer to buy a bigger stove. Then you have the problem, to overheat the house, which means you use more wood than you need.
Concept 01
small stove - big atmosphere
A small wood stove that generates little heat but still offers a large atmosphere, for efficient and user-friendly heating of passive houses.
