The series starts off fairly strong with a sturdy, spacious house. Maybe a little too spacious, as it lacks internal walls, as well as any large furniture apart from a shelf and a bed. Even so, the herringbone floor and exposed wooden beams have their own rustic charm. It may take some work for this house to become a truly comfortable place to live, but I’m sure it will be worth it. 6/10
Rune Factory 2
Now THIS is a good house. A little old and worn perhaps, but you can feel the history in the walls. It has two floors, two bedrooms, and comes fully furnished, including many basic necessities such as a fridge, a cupboard, a bookshelf, and a magic mirror. Indeed, with the ever-present fire crackling merrily in the hearth, this isn’t just a house, but also, a home. 9/10
Rune Factory 3
This is a house. This is a tree. This is the ultimate tree house. It’s a dream dwelling and I have no criticisms. 20/10
Rune Factory 4
What is this. What in Venti’s good name is this. This is not a house. This is not an apartment. This is barely even a bunker, for all it has tiled floors and decorated pillars. Mildew? In MY carpets? It’s a guarantee when rain comes pouring in through the permanently open back door. This ‘’’house’’’ doesn’t even come with basic hygiene, let alone basic furniture, and oh? It’s supposed to have more rooms, but they’ve been bricked up? Despicable. Gets some points for having a cool basement, but still a total sham. -2/10
The RF Community Charity Raffle is a fundraising event to raise money to support the Black Lives Matter movement in the United States.
For every $5 donation to our selected charity, Reclaim the Block, you will be entered to win one of many prizes offered by various artists and writers in the Rune Factory community.
Every additional $5 donated will give you a better chance of winning a prize! For example, a donation of $15 will have your name in the drawing three times. Please note that if you receive a prize, your name will be removed from the running for additional prizes.

In a couple weeks, I was originally intending to host the RF Unleash the Gays Weekend in celebration of Pride. However, considering recent events in the United States, I have found it inappropriate to host an event as though everything was business as usual, especially when "business as usual" is never something we SHOULD return to.
Instead, starting sometime next week, RFWeeks will be hosting the RF Community Raffle to help raise money for the Black Lives Matter movement. I am still in the process in deciding a specific charity or fundraiser to support, and have reached out to several members of the RF community to help and donate time/art.
Please let me know if you have any comments, suggestions, or questions.

The sun rose lazily over Selphia, kissing the stone of the town in bright reds and oranges as it woke. Forte had been awake for hours. She watched the sun rise as she sharpened her sword, the sound of steel on whetstone the only sound except for Kiel’s snoring in the other room. It was almost time for her to do her morning rounds, but that wasn’t the cause of her anxiety this morning. There was a gift, just beside her, that she needed to give, but she knew the words that accompanied it would be the hardest part.
She swore under her breath as she sheathed her sword. Morning rounds. Nothing more. She needed to be vigilant, not let her heart get the best of her. But even as she thought it, her heart beat a symphony in her chest. Just the thought of what she may say sent blood rushing to her face. How would she confess? How could she possibly say the words in her heart?
With a deep breath, she left her house, closing the door softly as to not wake Kiel. The town had not yet woken, and she took her time on her walk, checking everything to make sure nothing was out of place. She first crossed over to the castle, and said hello to Ventuswill as she passed. Usually, she’d stop to make conversation, but today she just wanted this to be over. So she could give her gift. So she could stop panicking.
She told herself she wasn’t afraid of rejection, but she was lying. Dolce was a hard person to read on a good day, and although she had a feeling that she at least liked her, she didn’t know if she had feelings for her. The distinction was enough to send her reeling in self doubt and fear.
The rest of her rounds passed in a haze, a fact she’d stress about later. For now, she stood in front of the clinic, her gift trembling in her hands. This was ridiculous, she told herself. She was a Dragon Knight. A protector of Selphia. She could confess to her crush. It wasn’t like she was up against an enemy. Dolce was her friend, at the very least.
She adjusted her helmet, and entered, smiling at Nancy as she came in.
“She’s upstairs,” Nancy said, knowingly. She motioned with her head at the gift in Forte’s hands, and winked. Forte felt her face heat. Had she been obvious? She didn’t want to know. She thanked Nancy and took the stairs two at a time, up to Forte’s room. With a deep breath, she knocked on the door.
“Come in,” came Dolce’s voice beyond the door. Forte pushed it open.
“Dolce?” she said. Dolce looked up from her embroidery. Forte always thought her breath taking, but especially when she crafted. There was something elegant about the way she held her hands.
“Forte,” she said. “I wasn’t expecting you.”
“Ah, no,” Forte said. “Sorry, I didn’t mean to drop by unannounced, but...”
“Hm? What’s that in your hands?”
“It’s uh,” Forte started, “it’s for you.” She held it out. It was a small doily that Forte had spent days on. It was unwinding in places, and there was more than a few dropped stitches, but Forte had worked her hardest on it.
“You gave me something homemade, so I figured...” Forte’s face heated. This was dumb, she thought. She should have gotten something for her.
Dolce stood. “You made this for me?”
“Yes.”
“That’s very sweet,” she said, taking it from Forte’s hands.
“And--”
“And?”
“And I just. I wanted to say.” Forte looked to the floor, her face red and her heart stammering. “I just wanted to say, I think you’re beautiful, and kind, and I wanted to know if... if you wanted to go out. With me. Sometime.”
Dole placed the doily on her nightstand. “Are you asking me out?” she asked.
“Yes.”
“Is this why you made this for me?”
“Yes.”
Dolce sighed. “Well, we’ll have to teach you to do better. I guess we can discuss it at dinner. Will you meet me at Porcoline’s around six?”
Forte stood stunned. Was that a yes?
“That sounds fantastic,” she said. Dolce smiled.
“Very well. I’ll see you then.”
Forte nodded. She turned to leave, but as her hand fell to the doorknob, Dolce’s voice stopped her.
“One more thing,” she said. Forte turned, and Dolce was there right behind her. She leaned in, and before Forte could process what was happening, she opened up to her, like a summer flower blooms, and they kissed.
It was a sweet, chaste thing, lasting no more than a moment, but it sent Forte’s heart soaring.
“That’s all,” Dolce said, softly. Forte let out a breath.
“Porco’s at six?”
“Wear something besides your armor.” Dolce winked at her. She nodded, and left, her heart still beating a staccato beat in her chest.
Porco’s at six. She’d be there. And without her armor.
Maybe, she thought, maybe she could get another kiss.

Dolce/Clorica: Established Relationship

Clorica yawned in the bright light of of the summer day. It was sweltering, and although she’d dressed down into her swimsuit, with her toes in the water of the lake, it didn’t quite break the oppressive heat of the day. She sighed.
“Hot days make me sleepy,” she sighed to Dolce, beside her. She was knitting a open stitch shawl that still seemed too warm for the weather. Dolce quirked her mouth into a small smile.
“You’re always sleepy,” she said. Clorica considered arguing that, but it seemed like a lot of work. Instead, she turned onto her belly, allowing the sun to hit her back. It was a biting sting, and she was sure that she was going to burn despite her sunscreen.
They stayed like that for a time, Clorica dozing, and Dolce knitting. Halfway into a nap, Clorica decided she had enough of the sunlight, and turned to Dolce.
“You wanna swim?” she asked.
“No, you go ahead.”
“You sure?”
“Yeah.”
Clorica chewed the inside of her cheek. “But it’s not as fun without you.”
Dolce stopped mid-stitch, and looked to her girlfriend. She sighed.
“Very well.”
She placed her knitting aside, and Clorica stood with her. They tested the cool, clear water, slowly making their way out. The difference between the hot sun and the coldness of the water was a shock, but a welcome one. Once Clorica made her way out to where her feet could no longer touch the bottom, she sighed happily, treading water.
“See isn’t that better?” she asked. Dolce smiled.
“I suppose so.”
“It so is,” Clorica giggled. She swam closer to Dolce, and kissed her on the cheek.
“You’re it!” she cried, and swam off. Dolce paused for a moment, before swimming after her, an intent look on her face.
They carried on like that, Clorica only allowing Dolce a certain distance before swimming off, giggling. Dolce laughed every time she almost caught her, water drops dripping off her eyelashes, and Clorica felt a rush of affection for her. When Dolce grew close again, she swam towards her, grabbing her and kissing her proper, slow and sweet. A warmth spread through her that couldn’t be attributed to the sun, starting in her toes and up into her belly.
“You’re it,” Dolce smirked, as they pulled apart.
“I love you,” Clorica replied instead. Dolce splashed her lightly.

Rune Factory Ficlet
Arthur/Lest (Feat. Baby Noel): Established Relationship

Lest watched as Noel stood on his tippy-toes to lift himself as high as possible against the door frame. The look of concentration on his face was laughable, but Lest held back a giggle as Arthur tutted.
“No, no,” he said. “You have to stand flat on your feet. Back to the door, that’s it.”
“But dada,” Noel whined. “I wanna be tall.”
“You will be, but we need to see how tall you actually are.”
Noel pouted but did as he was told, and Arthur ticked a mark just above Noel’s head. Noel jumped back, and admired his name written in Arthur’s neat script just above the mark.
“Oh!” he said. “I growed five inches.”
“You grew about one inch, bud,” Lest laughed. “Good job!” He threw up his hands and Noel ran into the hug and was lifted into the air. Arthur came up to them both, misty eyed.
“Don’t stay small long, do they?” he asked. Lest smiled.
“No,” he said. “They really don’t.”
He remembered when he’d first come--err fell into--Selphia. It had been hard without his memory, without anyone who knew who he’d been, but the town had welcomed him with open arms. He’d awoken the Guardians, lost Venti, then got her back again. He’d grown with this town, married Arthur and adopted little baby Noel into their family. It all seemed so far away, that worry about his loss of memory.
He had new memories now. And they’d continue to grow, alongside Noel and Arthur, and everyone in the town.
Together they all made one beautiful garden, and Lest was pretty sure he wouldn’t have wanted to grow anywhere else.
