I was just thinking about how I really can't bring to mind any other characters where the actor portraying them has made a conscious decision to continue to give their character overt PTSD symptoms (and to build them over time) outside of an explicit "PTSD arc". Particularly when the characterisation of them as a trauma survivor is not present from the very beginning of the show.

have we talked about soulless sam = the person that are that you no longer recognize after it Happened. you are changed for the worse and everyone around you sees it, and the old you is not something you want back. lower empathy, hypersexuality, impulsivity, being quick to anger and violence, you do not care about things or people in the way you should or at all behave in the way you should anymore. what Happened changed you and you may die trying to get it back. everyone around you is desperate for you to get it back. not for your sake but their own comfort. they will not accept that something within you has changed forever. they do not like what you were turned into. they will shove it back in and you will have to pretend you're what you once were. they do not care if it kills you. they will look at you sideways and dissect how much of you is back. and if there is anything still missing or damaged you cannot let them know until the dam breaks and you have no other choice. and no matter how much better, how good you are, they still wont like what they see. not until every shred of how you were changed is erased (hidden from their view, threatening to boil over inside) and you're a close enough approximation of the you that exists in their mind.
