petition to destroy the angelic hierarchy
for anyone who’s wondering what i mean by this: the entire idea of rigid choirs and spheres is, from my observations, not a thing. it’s the result of humans wanting to fit things in neat little categories, w/ eight distinct categories w/ the last being “uhhhh whatever the fuck else i guess.” angels didn’t have strict appearances or roles like that. people remember that they have six wings and think they have to be a seraph, despite none of the role descriptors fitting them at all. they kept an eye on some angels below their rank, so they think they were a dominion. multiple times i’ve seen people say they were multiple different types despite this being presented as a strict hierarchy where you can only hold one of these roles, and multiples times i’ve seen people say “i’m an [x] but my role was closer to [y].”
i used to follow the idea of it despite not feeling like any of it fit me at all, but after some introspection, taking a deeper look at some of my memories and checking around the community it just. doesn’t fit. it doesn’t work for so many people and they cling to it anyways b/c the vast majority of the community does, even when it doesn’t fit them
