Asmodeus strangling MC was a really unpleasant surprise for me. Seeing new sides of Asmo is interesting, but I donโt want that new negative side directed at MC. The amount of anger towards MC was really unwarranted.
Yes, the circumstances are dire, but, to me, MC is 99% innocent in this whole situation, especially with the statue part. And everyone, including the MC themself, needs to stop blaming them.
There was no rational reason that the super dangerous statue that causes misfortune wasnโt locked up/secured in some way. And there was no rational reason that Mammon didnโt warn MC to avoid this super dangerous statue. So, the statue breaking wasnโt in any way, shape, or form MCโs fault.
Why was MC even tasked with cleaning this random warehouse all by themself in the first place?
PrettyBusy does this a lot, putting MC into positions that they really shouldnโt, and then punishing MC for it. They did the same thing with the butler event, where MC was, for some inexplicable reason, gambling all alone in Abyssos.
MC is an extremely important figure in Hell. Theyโre also very weak/fragile compared to literally everyone else. Logically, there should be either a King or one of the 72 devils with them at all times. Otherwise, itโd be very easy for any angel or even a wayward devil to kill them, which would be very bad for Hell.
So, PrettyBusy having these solitary side quests for MC makes no sense. I know theyโre doing that to quick-start story plots, but surely they could come up with better scenarios that follow actual logic and donโt make the devils seem like they could care less if MC gets murdered.
Now, in regards to MC dealing with Azathoth, what else were they supposed to do?
A huge amount of devils were dead. Mammon was dead. Levi was about to die shortly. And Satan was either like Mammon or Levi. Three out of seven Demon Kings extinguished in a single fight would be catastrophic for Hell.
What would have Asmo preferred for MC to do in this situation? Just move on and let them be dead? Because, in that case, then MC wouldnโt be MC.
What MC did was completely in line with their character, because if it wasnโt, then the entire story of the game wouldnโt exist. We saw in MCโs first scene that theyโre self-sacrificing, and that they donโt consider consequences at all if it means saving their loved ones. They didnโt hesitate to make a deal with Satan, the infamous devil from the bible, whose deals in popculture usually end very badly for the human. That didnโt matter to them, because Satan was offering to save Minhyeok.
Itโs not like MC knew that their deal with Azathoth could potentially collapse the world. They thought that the consequences would be placed solely on themself. So, I canโt fault MC at all for what they did to save Satan, Mammon, and Leviathan.
In my opinion, the only thing that MC should have done differently was tell everyone immediately what had transpired in that alternate timeline as soon as they woke up. Or, at the very least, tell everyone what happened when the Kings started turning into cats for seemingly no reason.
TLDR: Asmodeus leave MC alone, theyโre trying their best.

No offense/snark at all to the original translator, they're doing an excellent work. ๐๐ Theyโre a professional and Iโm not. And honestly, compared to the MTL we used to get, itโs really nice that PB listened, hired a human translator and fixed the text.
That said, in the original JP line, the first part, sounds a little more emotional. Like heโs more deeply connected to us/the MC. In my opinion, that nuance wasnโt conveyed as strongly in the official translation. Of course, this is just my opinion.
Closer translation, in my humble opinion or how I would translate it:
โEvery time I see you, my chest tightens/my heart aches for reasons I canโt explain.โ
Again, no offense to the original translator. Itโs just that the original feels more romantic and I feel like that was kind of lost in the translation. ๐๐
