I like to think mc is using the whole "descendan of Solomon" thing as a new way of dissociating. It's a chance to do more than what they've always been doing

Multiple times in the story & events mc makes a lot of mentions toward games, animes, etc. so it fits

helping others all across hell(you can't just sit in the castles all day you've been sitting in a room most of your life ,you don't want to be a burden again do you?)

This is a new open world game they're in. (Ingore all the corpses, they can't hurt you if you don't think about it.) They can explore this vast new world as an important figure of hell

This probably isn't an unpopular opinion but the MC we get in events IS 100 TIMES BETTER THAN ANYTHING MAIN STORY MC IS. They're allowed to be more than a sex toy that is confused all the time AND THEY DESERVE IT!

We know our baby girl/boy/ wtf cares is loaded with trauma and the story refuses to let us go a single moment without YOU knowing that MC is completely inferior to both demons and angels in

EVERY.

SINGLE.

WAY.

I fully believe it's because they're never given a chance to because of MCs lack of pride and confidence.

MC is in a middle of a war zone. They have never seen war, they've never been physically a part of one , just immediately thrown into one on a random Friday. This isn't anything they would know about and it doesn't help with the devils constantly infantilizing (intentional or not) them.

They're immediately beating themselves down, they have the mindset that they are pretty much useless. Why try when they'll just be in the way? Why ask any questions when it's immediately faced with ridicule or vagueness ? It's better to stay in the corner and deal with the constant feeling of worthlessness than actively harming others right,?

But this event they're in school. MC has experience being in school (none positive but shh) , they've survived it already. Paired with the idea that MC is in belief this is a dream like state and the fact they were just dealing with a war this is practically a cake walk for them.

They get extremely excited about this in a way we rarely see in them when it's put together that it's like a dating sim they gain confidence

MC is playing an active role in the event. Interacting with the environment allowing themselves to have fun in a sense that they can actually do things and it makes a "difference" . They have some sort of control over their lives for once even if it's fake, no one is telling them really what to do (no minh either which pro)

But then the illusion gets broken beacuse Solomon is mentioned and MC flinches.

So far MC has never reacted to being compared to him but this might as well have broken MC's immersion because immediately after as Beelzebub corners them the self hatred is back baby.

All the things they were so excited about being able to do and accomplish are no longer anything to be proud of. It's just a silly dream that's the only reason.

Which is immediately called out by Beelzebub

MC is too much in their own head to ever notice this though.

Which also makes the whole mc x Lucifer thing even more interesting with them being on both being self hating but one is extremely prideful and the other barely thinks of themselves.

Adding on the constant comparisons and lack of any type of explanation from either side of I was in the MCs position I would have cracked as soon as I met Satan tbh.

It makes sense in theory but the game usually hates giving MC and permission to think besides horny so that's why it's always so odd to sometimes hear it.

Even with the MCs trauma with school as a whole I'm pretty sure they would prefer that over all the war nonsense going on

Technically the higher nobles don't really die they just have another devil take their place (I.E. Gamgin, Mammon, Gaap) and the power is passed onto them. Including the pacts.

Gamgin gained his pact with Solomon from the og Gamgin (correct me if wrong I don't have any Gamgin cards) after the original died. Gaap took the place of one of the 72 that was killed in the war (or something) so shouldn't he have just immediately gotten a pact with Solomon ? There should have been no need for the MC to actually make the pact after they help make him a part of the 72 since there should have still been one with Solomon from all those years ago.

But also why don't pacts just go away after the death of a devil/sorcerer? Solomon has been dead for years there's no reason for the pact to still be inhibiting any of the devils powers when no one is using it! Mc BARELY knows any type of spells I doubt anyone else in his blood line was casting spells and summoning demons since the angels killed everyone else even vaguely related to the godfucker.

And that leads to a whole other bucket of questions if pacts don't go away wouldn't we have to find two more demons to replace the other ones that died before MC was able to remove the pacts? What's the criteria for being one of the 72 or is solely fucking vibes? Is this just another case of Solomon being God's favorite and other pact users don't get this luxury? How does Lucifer's pact changes now that he's a devil or is it still the same as it was when he was an angel because that's when he made it? Would MC be able to tap into angelic magic due to this pact?

Hiiii hope you don't mind me hijacking your post lol short answer is we don't actually know how the pacts work! But I do have theories-

From my understanding (and anyone feel free to correct me) the 72 nobles before Solomon arrived in Hell were the strongest devils after the kings, then Solomon made a contract with them each and they became even stronger (but also limited?) and now help rule the countries they belong to.

The pacts don't go away after one of them dies because its described as "a contract between souls". So if either party dies their soul is still linked to the other and just reincarnates. When Lilith was still around and making babies, the nobles that died were able to be born again into a new body. But now that she's gone the souls of the nobles that are still dead are just kind of disembodied but still connected to Solomon/MC's soul. So what makes devils one of the 72 nobles is their contract with Solomon/MC's soul.

In the case of Gamigin, he basically ate the soul of the previous Gamigin and absorbed the contract into his own soul. And for Gaap, it seems if devils aren't born with a reincarnated soul they have to make a new contract with Solomon (if he were still around) or MC to give the new devil one of the lost souls that is still attached to MC's soul. He couldn't have just become Gaap when the old Gaap died because the contract has to be consensual (although this is a big assumption on my part tbh, but nothing has really disproven this idea to me).

I think the criteria for being one of the 72 is just vibes, bc they also say that Gaap could've made a contract with Solomon himself but he didn't want to back then. Lucifer is still an angel, but he is also a devil, I think he can do both devil and angel pacts. I think MC might be able to do angelic magic once they learn more.

There's some contradictions but this is the most sense I could get out of what we have. It also basically implies that since Foras broke the contract he can't reincarnate anymore so idunnooooooooo

That does make pretty good sense I hate the "Solomon and MC are the same person ' thing so much I kinda forgot its cannon. It would make sense for the pacts to stay because

Ofc the writing in the game refuses to allow Ra-on to be actually powerful and useful for more than a single scene but there has been proof that they're able to use the demons powers and combined abilities with the assistance of pacts. Thought I don't know how they will be able to continue to have magic if they get rid of all the pacts but that for another post.

ANGELS CAN MAKE PACTS AND THEY DONT Elaborate at all! It could be useful to the plot if mc was able to use at least some form of angelic magic (op mc is the funniest mc imo) to even the playing field between not only them and the angels but also the more aggressive devils. It could definitely be useful for a sometimes attack, it'll just probably take way more energy than a devil pact since MC is on hells side and everything.
