An old environment study I did about the train station in my hometown. Golden hour hits different when you are leaving home:)
ACGAS AU:
Audrey had made her decision. She would take the bus to Keighley, would board the train and visit Gerald. Maybe he was her future after all. The proposal had been rather unromantic, downright awkward but at least he had asked. Unlike Siegfried. Who had put his walls up again after she had announced her engagement. She had secretly longed for him to stop her, to tell her that her idea was ridiculous, that Gerald was not the right man for her. That she deserved better. But nothing of the sort had happened. He had only nodded, excused himself and disappeared in his study for the rest of the evening. Not even today, when she was about to visit Gerald for a few days, had he found the courage to wish her a good journey, or good luck. Instead Audrey had taken the bus, had gone all the way to Keighley and waited. Not only for the train. Deep in her heart she wanted Siegfried to follow her, to tell her that she should stay. Be with him. When the train pulled into the station she was still waiting, looking along the platform for his familiar face. Nothing. At the very last minute she got on, found a seat by the window. Slowly the train made its way out of the station, past the now empty platform. Except it was not empty. There he stood, Siegfried. Out of breath. Watching the train leave. But he had come and in that moment Audrey knew that she would get off at the next stop and return home. Home to Darrowby. Where she belonged. (inspired by x )
i was getting sad about my parents not being here hanging out in the living room drinking together but good news my father is texting me updates of his life as some kind of early 20th century novel character
