kinda crazy and by that i mean extremely sad how pretty much any freshwater or diadromous fish species thats at-risk or declining will have dams listed as one of the major threats but even people who are otherwise ecologically minded will still insist that they're one of the greenest renewable energy sources we have. people will even say its worth it to have them even though they DO kill fish because whatever theyre powering is more important, even when the fish in question are actual keystone species whos absence collapses entire ecosystems..
