Why did my middle school/high school homeschool friend group turn fucking evil after I moved away?

Literally me last night listening to everything that went on after I left and when I came back and how it led to the current situation where they're literally acting like this One Guy killed someone because he started dating a girl MONTHS after she broke up with the pastor's son because she realized she only liked him as a friend. This One Guy she met at the Pastor's youth bible study mind you ... Literally they've been icing out anyone they happen to dislike from the friend group instead of talking to them like adults.

My suite mate is friends with this one other guy who speaks German and he's part of the German club apparently now, but he has got to be one of the most annoying guys ever.
