i hedcanon that hedwig has a tendency to drink before performances on particularly bad days because sometimes she just gets so insecure about her performance that she can't even go on stage without a bottle in her hand, still sweaty from the stress. this especially happened when she first got gigs and still happens frequently. maybe after the events of the show transpire, she stops doing that, but... who knows?

I can imagine her hanging on by a thread sometimes and feeling like she needs it to keep going.

hedwig has a slight limp becayse of the car crash eith tommy

Now that you mention it, it never comes up if there were any injuries in the accident (other than what we see in the mugshot photos), but it would make sense. And I think it goes well with the fact that the events of Hedwig's life continue to physically and mentally wound her.

yitzhak is an avid whatsapp user. he steals hedwig's phone to use whatsapp. he adds random people's number to her phone and she opens it confused and not knowing who added these people to her contacts

I love the slightly chaotic nature of this!

I'm imagining Hedwif seing notifications and being like "who tf is this and why are they sending their best? I only get the worst"

This made me look at my archive and I've now realized it's been 10 years since I started this blog! So much has happened in my life over that time, but I continue to love Hedwig and I enjoy getting to share that with others! When I first made this blog, I had been connecting with a lot of Hedwig fans on Tumblr and like I said before it's great to see that continues on

Hello new followers!

I've gotten a few new followers lately and this blog has been having more activity than it has received in years. I just wanted to thank everyone who has been here and welcome those of you who are newer to this blog. I love Hedwig and it's great to see others who do too sharing their love for Hedwig through headcanons

Tumblr forces me to write something to be able to post but I feel like this stands on its own

But it could explain how Yitzhak can hit some of those notes

the lyrics to wltr just randomly came into hedwig's mind during the concert and then by the point after exquisite corpse it plays out in her mind and that's what we are seeing

I can see how that would make sense for the story, and it's definitely something open to interpretation!

also skszp probably met yitzhak as krystal in a gig she had and then he became kind of her manager (and sometimes confidant) until hedwig came along

yitzhak occasionally steals skszp’s (really old) phone to keep up with drag trends (it crashes too much). he also keeps a secret notepad where he kind of designs wigs and outfits that he wishes could make/wear (he hides it in a little handheld boxes he ‘stores his tambourine’ in).

not sure if this blog is still active but hedwig (with tommy on her mind) & the band have definitely covered silver springs before and yitzhak had to fight the urge to sing the leading vocals loll

hedwig doing a cover of Hey Mickey by Toni Basil with the original angry inch (at the coffee shop thingy) but changing it to be Hey Tommy

I like this! Hedwig is bitter about Tommy but still follows him around and stuff so I think this fits with that.

not entirely a headcanon but ive been thinking about how like tommy and hedwig probably had to spend some time in the cell thing at the police station after the accident and i ljke to imagine that she called yitzhak to come pick her up

Oh, I love this! I'm embarrassed to say I've never even thought about that, but now that you mention it there is so much to imagine in this scenario, both before and after Yitzhak comes to get her.

i think hedwig probably panicked, cause iirc from my cold war hyperfixation the death penalty was pretty common in east berlin? maybe tommy comforted her

Some Hedwig songs came on when I had my music on shuffle this afternoon and when "Midnight Radio" ended I realized something that I'm not sure I fully thought about before. Yitzhak speaks the first words of the musical, introducing Hedwig to the audience. Yitzhak also sings the last words of the musical, "Lift up your hands," and takes over the spotlight from Hedwig instead of being in her shadow.

Hedwig planning a beach outing with the band but they get there later than they planned because she took forever picking out which bathing suit to wear. Yitzhak trying to get to finally make up her mind but actually slowing her down because every time he makes a suggestion or tells her to hurry up they bicker for several minutes.

It's the way that Hedwig fears that what she is is the best she's going to get. She doesn't think she's good.
