Whelp.

My toxic workplace got on my last nerve.

I clocked out a whole 8 minutes late because I wanted to make sure I at least hauled the trash out of every resident's room before I left the day prior, even though I didn't get to clean every room. The following day, I was told that if I keep clocking out late, I'm going to get written up.

If I'm going to get punished for making sure my job is done and people aren't living in filth, and being accused of stealing time because of our rounding time clock, I'm not going to stick around. I can get work anywhere in this town. I don't have to tolerate a toxic environment. The company is at-will as well, so I just walked out. The boss over my boss had the audacity to call me repeatedly to ask me why I left. I gave him a paragraph-long rundown of what happened, between getting punished for doing a good job, being singled out and discriminated against for having a disability, for being unable to communicate through email in a state that has two-party consent recording laws, and for enforcing lunch breaks during short shifts and effectively stealing wages. He then responded, "I'm trying to understand." If as a manager you can't understand a written message, you need to get someone to read it for you. I don't think I could have been more clear.

Self Reflection 6/9/22

I've been... diagnosed with Hashimoto's Disease.

Hashimoto's Disease is an autoimmune disorder where your body doesn't recognize your thyroid as part of your body and begins to attack it. It can lead to hyperthyroidism at first, and eventually hypothyroidism, where I'm at.

It can cause you to feel fatigued, feel sore in your joints, have muscle soreness, have brittle hair, have difficulty conceiving babies if you have those parts, feel suddenly too cold, dry skin, weight gain, and constipation, among other things.

I don't have ALL of the symptoms, but I will say I don't have maybe 2 of them.

I already have PCOS and chronic migraines, so this is gonna be fun.

I'm having a really bad pain week this week and I'm getting tested for thyroid issues. I have no idea what's going on with me other than I hurt like I've been hit by a bus. Pain in most of the joints, total body fatigue...

She shook her head, just slightly, with a wince at the pain in her head, made worse by the movement. "What's going on?" She was afraid to try to speak, because she knew her words would come out garbled and unintelligible. She looked around for a place to sit down. "Ma'am?"'
