[It was admirable. Enough to were Sonic watched him as he sung, finding an interest in how he followed along with the light hum of his voice. Sure, Shadow wasn’t singing.. but it was still nice. He had caught on quickly, despite having one or two slips. The blue one didn’t mind at all, though.
He actually smiled warmly.]
Because you live, there’s a reason why I carry on when I lose the fight I want to give what you’ve givin’ me always.. [He seemed to trail off after this, lifting one hand to his ear and scratching the back of it. His eyes finally wandered away to find the wall nearby fascinating, clearing his throat for the second time. That had been a lot more enjoyable than he figured it would be. Maybe he did need to sing for him more often.]
Shadow continued to listen and hum along for those last three lines, and then when he felt as though Sonic wasn't about to sing anymore, he opened his eyes, staring at him with a quizzical smile. He enjoyed it, hadn't he? It was funny how he looked almost bashful afterward, like as though he were shy about his voice. That would be a funny thought, Sonic shy about anything. He was probably the most confident hedgehog he knew.
Slowly, he applauded.
I like your singing voice.
It wasn't like the previous "compliment" he'd given that was meant as a tease. This was a genuine one, just voicing how he actually felt -- an actual thought that passed through his mind.
