also props to neville for doing his thing. it was bleedin annoying and poor kid got petrified but he got the last 10 points so i really cant complain. im pretty sure the last person to think that neville would be worthy of gryffindor was himself but look at him.  he started off paranoid about losing his stupid frog and next thing you know hes beating up crabbe and goyle and trying to tell us off. the worst time possible but still good job finally finding your courage mate.

also gotta give props to hermione. and harry too for beating you-know-who again but i mean he gets enough credit dont you think :P

anyways i think all four of us are really proud to be gryffindors right now like we all (probably except harry) were totally not expecting to be placed here but that just shows you that anyone can choose to be brave and all that cheesy stuff im not one for speeches

but you know what the end of the year means??  BREAK!!  finally done with stupid homework at least until next year.  which means you can stop bugging me about it hermione

PSA: Important Things to Know

Devil’s Snare: A constricting plant. Enjoys the damp and dark. Generally found in moist places. If you pay attention in Sprout’s class, then you should have a decent general understanding of plants. Weakness: fire

Broomstick Riding for Squibs: A very concise and informative book on the basics of broomriding. Broomriding is an essential skill for life, trust me on this. You never know when you might have to do something like catch an enchanted flying object.

Chess: Not only is this an excellent game for the brain, but a good way to settle arguments or defeat someone! Wizard chess is strikingly similar to Muggle chess, but there are minor differences that come with having playing pieces that talk to you. If you’ve never tangled with this game, I suggest the book Wizard Chess for Squibs. It only goes over the basics, so if you want to find a book that has more strategy in it, then the Hogwarts library has plenty of resources.

Logic: Having common sense or logic is VERY important, and a lot of wizards I know have a serious lack of it coughcoughRON. Many problems in life can be solved without magic with just the use of your brain, and I daresay that the mind may be even mightier than the wand. If you want to strengthen your mind, try out some Muggle puzzle books! The pictures may not move, but they still present a decent challenge.

Cooperation: People, even wizards, can’t get very far on their own. Even You-Know-Who had to have supporters to possess any power. Having a tight team of friends with relationships built on trust will help you throughout many obstacles in life. You might just find that your shortcomings are covered by your friend’s strengths. So go out there and make some friends!

OMG GUYS HAVE U HEARD

alright theres tons of people that have been asking how exactly we all beat you-know-who so im gonna post it all before fred and george say something stupid like we trapped him in a cauldron made out of chocolate or some nonsense

when we first tried to leave the common room neville came up and was like "im not going to let you all do this" and mate im proud of you for growing a spine but seriously you idiot you could not have any worse timing. so since we couldnt get him to shut up hermione just petrified him and we just kind of left him there (im sorry)

so that forbidden corridor on the third floor had this giant three headed dog and his names fluffy and we played some music to get through it.  except we started it off with harry playing the flute and he wanted to go first and so we had to switch things around and the second we stopped playing i swear the dumb dog wanted to rip my leg off

so we jump down the trapdoor and theres this giant plant thing that hermione starts explaining is a devil's snare blah blah and i was like "WE ARE DYING READ YOUR BLEEDING HERBOLOGY NOTES LATER KILL IT ALREADY" and she was like "we can kill it with fire but we dont have any wood??" like are you serious woman YOU HAVE. A. WAND.

next room was a bunch of flying keys and we did this super fancy thing where we cornered it and harry totally couldnt have done that alone it was all me

then this was the best part because there was this huge chessboard and we got to play wizards chess which, thanks to my amazing skills, we won.  also i super bravely sacrificed myself so we could win the game

except i was kind of out cold for the rest of the night so everything after this is what hermione and harry told me

and basically they had this logic potions thing that hermione solved in like 5 seconds flat since shes such a genius or something

but then she came back to get me and then harry went on and it turns out QUIRREL WAS THE BAD GUY ALL ALONG.  AND ALSO HIS TURBAN HAS YOU-KNOW-WHO HIDING INSIDE LIKE STUCK ON THE BACK OF QUIRRELS HEAD LIKE IM SO GLAD I DIDN’T HAVE TO SEE THAT

and harry did this thing with a mirror and the stone was in his pocket.  then you-know-who tried to kill him but he couldnt because harry is surrounded by magical love things i honestly have no idea what all of that means but dumbledore said it so ???

anyways quirrel died or something and good riddance but then harry also almost died himself like. harry you idiot. what on earth was our quidditch team supposed to do without their seeker are you stupid or are you stupid. but he didnt die and thats a good thing.

we couldnt have done it all without each other. lets be real i beat harry in chess all day every day, and hermione did the puzzles, and harry did the actual anti-dark arts thing. and like harry was doing all the leading and i was helping hermione not panic and she was keeping us both focused so were a pretty good team. teamwork and all that jazz

anyways we were awesome and we beat you-know-who and thats how it went.  dont believe anything fred and george say or have already said.  you-know-who is never going to win. not if he has to get through all of us first.

so i had a weird dream

i was like looking into a mirror and my reflection started changing and it was showing me as captain of the quidditch team, and then dumbledore saying that we won the house cup and everybody was cheering my name, and i went home after exams and my parents said that i was their favourite son and i asked about bill and charlie and percy and they said "who are they?"…...and then i woke up

i dont know if that was supposed to be like my future???  that would be great if it was. i didnt want to look away from that mirror, i mean until i woke up and i didnt really have a choice. like i didnt realise what i wanted or how bad i wanted that and then magic and then BAM and it showed me and i was like whoaa can u guys believe how hard it would have been to figure myself out without magic hahaha how do muggles do it

anyways just wanted to get that out there.  i didnt really know what i was going to do at hogwarts i mean everybody loved bill and charlie and percy and fred and george and i can hardly compare to any of them….but maybe i have a chance now? i mean i dont want my parents to literally forget about bill and charlie and percy but like yeah

OKAY I’M BACK hermione changed the password and set me on a hunt through a history of magic to find uric the oddball so i would “go read a textbook for once” but who cares anyway… i found it!!! so now i’m back so ha! besides, it’s not my fault about the password in the first place this was harry’s account first :P

besides only hermione would ever care enough to hack into my tumblr like seriously doesn't she have things to study??  blimey "only seven months until exams ron" thats more than half the year!!??!

Now that I've gotten into Ron's (and Harry’s, I suppose) account, I might as well use it for something...useful.  

A compilation of the strange happenings around school + commentary, to sort out what we already know.  I don't want to leave a hard copy of this lying about-can you imagine what would happen if Professor Snape found it?

The forbidden corridor on the third floor.  Inside was a large, three-headed dog, standing on top of a trapdoor.  Obviously, it's guarding something. We've found out from Hagrid that it's his dog, and its name is Fluffy.  Why on earth would Hagrid be raising a three-headed dog?  And why leave it in Hogwarts, for that matter? What’s underneath the trapdoor?

Harry said that he saw Snape talking about the Fluffy, saying how difficult it was to get past its three heads.  He brought this up when we were talking to Hagrid, but Hagrid insisted that it couldn't be Snape.  He looked quite shifty about it, though.  Not to mention, we saw Snape jinxing Harry’s broom during his first Quidditch match, trying to throw Harry off his broom...he has to be up to something.  What's Hagrid hiding from us?

Nicholas Flamel.  Who is this person?  I don't recall reading anything about him in any of my books - and I've read nearly everything outside of the restricted zone!  But why would his name be in the restricted zone?  What does he have to do with whatever's under that trapdoor? 

Snape’s been threatening Quirrel! Most likely for the stone, but how could he be stopped? Is he in contact with You-Know-Who?

So many questions....Maybe I'll add back onto this if we find any answers.

We’ve now found out (from a Chocolate Frog card, of all places!) that Flamel was an alchemist who worked with Dumbledore. Flamel’s most notable achievement was the making of the Philosoph-oops, sorry, Sorcerer’s Stone. The Stone can make the Elixir of Life that enables those who drink it to live forever, and also turns things into gold! We think that this must be what Hagrid took out of the vault in Gringotts. The Philos-sorry, don’t know why I keep calling it that, Sorcerer’s Stone must be under that trapdoor that’s being guarded by Fluffy.

A mysterious figure was seen in the forest drinking unicorn blood.  Harry talked to one of the centaurs, who explained that unicorn blood can be used to keep you alive, for a short while, but it leaves you cursed.  There was also something about Mars and fate but, I don't entirely trust that.  Harry said that You-Know-Who is the one after the unicorn blood, and if he gets the Elixir of Life, well, what kind of curse is going to help with that?  Who was it out there?  I don’t think going back into the Forbidden Forest is worth it, but this definitely warrants some investigation.  I just hope we have enough time.

I thought I might use this opportunity to help everyone out with some study tips and notes!! :) Remember, exams are in only seven months, and that time can fly by if you’re not paying close attention. Since we do have comprehensive exams at the end of the year, it’s important to actually remember what you’re learning. I suggest going back and reviewing your notes after each unit. (If you want, message me for some notes. Except for you, Ron, because you need something to motivate you to pay attention in class.) I’ve put in a picture of my notes, so feel free to use the note-taking format! It’s been accredited by several Muggle universities. :)

Additionally, I have some suggestions for light reading to keep the mind sharp! Check for them in the Hogwarts library, or Flourish and Blotts.
