"Nnhh…" Flattered as she was, it didn’t stop her from smacking her boyfriend’s face with her ears. "Non!"
"S...Sorry, uh, just wanted to -" Her ears were soft, even when they were being used as weapons. He made mental note of how bizarrely cute that is. "Uh. Your face is really red."

“Non,” She huffled into his chest, stubbornly squeezing the hedgehog. “… Teaching me?” That sounded- really fun actually. She nuzzled into his chest further, tail wiggling. “Mh! Oui, yes! Please make my english gooder.” She blinked, “Vous parlez français? ♥”
Charlotte stared up at Gerald with a smile, leaning up to give him a gentle peck to his cheek before returning to the batter bowl. “Teach me zee english and I cooking you foods, okay?”
The subtle pink in his cheeks had intensified just enough to be noticeable. "Oui, je le fais. It's a bit rusty because I've not really had any need to speak it in a long time. It was just this phase I went through where I tried to learn a lot." Less so by choice, but it was still an experience that has yet to backfire.
"English is commonly very difficult to learn unless it's your first language, but you're smart. I'd need to get some of my old books together, borrow a few from dad's old library..." He briefly trailed off in thought, attempting to count out the books he had seen with his hand. She already had a fairly basic grasp on the language. As it was, it wouldn't take much more than a few months to get the rest done.
It would be a shame to see her cute quirks disappear, but it was what she wanted. "I never though to ask before now, but When did you begin learning English, anyways?"
Cream blinked at him, fiddling with her ear. It was rude of her to think of something like this, but that wasn’t at all what she thought this hedgehog would sound like. Perhaps it was the eyes that gave the fake illusion. She expected deeper, scarier, but instead was surprised with nervous and scared.
The poor thing must be lost!
"You are in Karri at the medical bay. Does nothing looks familiar to you?" Probably not, guess from the way he was stuttering. "Where are you from, mister?"
Karri? He's never even heard of such a place. Or at least it's not a place that he remembers, which to say the very least is more places than he cared to admit lest Finitevus smack him with a book. As it looked now, this 'Karri' location seemed to be very far from the familiar corridors of the base, or even the dense jungle outside it. "I'm from a place a bit north of Adabat.. It's very green, very moist. Lotsa leaves?
I don't even know how I got here. It's not very often I step through a doorway and end up in a different count- Wait a minute, is this within United Federation borders?" Ah, so many questions. He actually began to worry he'd overwhelm the small rabbit. He couldn't imagine she was very old, part of him wondered why she was working in such a place to begin with.
"Oui! He just not liking carrots ever. I do not knowing. It has always been like zat." She giggled quietly, watching Gerald break the eggs. He was always so nervous about simple things.
"WAH—" She tugged at her ears, shrinking where she stood. "Wah! Hard to english! Why so hard! Why not easy like mother tongue!" She pouted, hiding her face behind the flour bag. "English is hard…"
The master of smooth moves deduced now was his chance. He awkwardly shuffled close enough to hug her, giving her a bit of a pat on the back in some effort to comfort her. "No it's cute. Your English is cute." Yeah, nailed that. He moved back from the embrace to smile at her and the strangely adorable display.
He did something, he wasn't sure what but he was pretty damn certain it was a good thing. Or something terrible.
"...If you want me to, I can try and help you with English. If that would make you any more comfortable with it. I learned French a looonnggg time ago so I could just speak that, too."

What interesting eyes… She wondered for a moment what happened to this hedgehog to have such an outcome like this. Cream certainly hadn’t seen anything like this before so naturally the child was curious. She dithered, careful not to come off as staring too much and instead initiated a proper greeting.
"Hello mister. Can I help you with anything?"
Wait a minute. This wasn't his bedroom. This was outside. How did he get outside? Gerald stared into the sky for several seconds as he attempted to assess where he was and how he got there - or here, whichever, until his attention finally snapped to Cream.
"Uh." She looked familiar. A rabbit, maybe he just had Charlotte on the mind and somehow mistook her for someone else. Possibly. "Where... am I? I think I'm lost, this isn't the place where I was going. In fact this doesn't look to be anywhere near where I was." What in the name of Gaia was happening.
“Offens’eeve?” She blinked, “Aha, oh non, he does not like zee carrots so much. Chocolat cherry cake is uncle’s favorit! And lucky us zat I know just how he likes it too.”
Cans and cooking utensils quickly covered the countertop for preperation. Charlotte handed Gerald a carton of eggs and swung the bowl over. “Here! You can split egg, yes? Recipe calls for 4 egg.”
Something about this was nostalgic. It was an awfully long time since he last cooked anything - thankfully cracking eggs wasn't a skill he could simply forget. He lifted an egg from the carton, carefully splitting it and dropping it's contents into the bowl with an almost awkward out-of-practice grace. "Your dialect is cute." He smiled, working on the second egg. "How you pronounce things, how you structure your sentences." Third egg. "I know you're a bit uncomfortable about it. But I still think it's cute at least."
Fourth. He paused to ensure no egg shell had fallen in before he handed the bowl back over.
Then something she said finally dawned on him. "...Wait, he doesn't like carrots?"
“You are good cakes?” She giggled, tugging the hedgehog into her kitchen. She glanced to the clock, mentally doing a little math. Alright, Uncle would get home around 8 and it was 3 now. Time to get to work then!
”I cannot wait then! Time to showing all your skills!”
Charlotte threw a pink apron at Gerald and tied her own, fetching the flour and bowls from the pantry.
He quickly donned the apron with an ever so slight pink face; it honestly reminded him of one of Finitevus' less blood-stained aprons he would wear when he cooked. After moments of fumbling around he had finally tied it in a way that satisfied him. "Okay. Uh, not to be offensive, but does he like carrot cake? Chocolate cake? Cheesecake?
Carrot cheesecake?" The options were endless, and he had enough experience to go any direction she chose.
“Silly,” she insisted, continuing with the squishing. “Now zat you are here, would you wanting to make zee food with me? I want to make BIIG cake for uncle.”
Ah, cakes. Gerald loved cake, as rare as it was. He distinctly remembered making the most elaborate cake he could find for Finitevus' birthday one year. Funnily enough the echidna had forgotten what day it was altogether. Gerald wasn't even sure if he ate it. "I can make cakes. I'm good cakes- I mean I make good cakes. At least that's what Cubot told me."
Even though cooking was among his few skills, he briefly contemplated if Cubot's word was enough on such a subject. "...What kind of cake are we making?"

"…My finger slipped?" BREATHES
She reached up and squished his muzzle.
"You are silly. Silly, silly Gerald."
There was a certainty in him that his breathing pattern was bordering hyperventilation. It really couldn't be helped when you're a living spaghetti monster. "N-I'm not silly, I'm... un... silly...? ...Yeah. You're the silly person."

Indefinite Hiatus.
Why? Because there's nothing going on. I've made efforts to make Gerald a bit more lively and interact with people but they've all fallen flat on their face. There's no point in checking in on a blog where absolutely nothing happens. In hindsight, I should have suspected this would happen, because this is just the direction every blog I create tends to go that isn't Ivo.
Just pretend Gerald doesn't exist. I don't know when I'll be back on him, seeing how there's very little incentive to even check in on this.
"No you’re cute."
The bunny huffed, leaning up to pinch at Gerald’s face.
"Don’t give me zhat face, I’ll smooched you."

Gerald stood alone in the bathroom, staring at his reflection as he often tended to do - It was quite literally a moment he'd take to reflect, thinking back on his day's events and to question the machinations of life.
Every time, he saw not a person, but a creation. A creature created not by love or compassion, but a creature made from science and the desire to pass on the workings of an empire. Everything about him did nothing but cement this; his eyes a standing tribute to his mechanical heritage. Synthetics and robotics mixed into one convenient pot.
A clone crafted by the age he lived in, guided by an estranged lunatic.
Gerald heard stories about the previous clones, too. Stories about his predecessors were not far from being horrific in nature, shambling abominations that were falling apart at a genetic level. Their very DNA was shattered and malformed, resulting in terribly grotesque monstrosities. Gerald mused what would have happened if he was one of them. If they were aware of who they were, what became of them, if they continued to exist and know of their heritage.
A thought process like that could turn maddening.
The final question he had for himself was his future. It was something he felt was best left a mystery.
"You are sure you are not knowing him?" He blew smoke rings down towards the hedgehog’s face.
"Is not nice to lie." Intimidating eyes darted from his cigarette to Gerald. "In home we haff saying. Хлеб-соль ешь, а правду-матку режь. It mean is best idea to tell truth. Is good saying Gerald. Dah?”
Shit. The impossibly tall Russian was a mind reader. That put everything at risk. "N-?" Gerald noticeably twitched, looking around himself as though some magical force would arise to whisk him away from his increasingly awkward situation. This wasn't going at all like he hoped it would, why couldn't these people just do as they were asked?
"I... uh. Can I ask why you're here.... again? With a few m-more details, this time?"
