"I am so sorry!"
"Thank you." Tatia clung to the girl, an exhale leaving her lips. She was happy that someone saw the struggle for what it was. It was far more than just the fashion change, or the fact there was now technology. Everything about her was old fashioned and no one quite understood why she was the way she was, unless they knew her secret.
Hope kept her arms around the other girl, she planned to take cues from her on when to pull away. In Hope's eyes, Tatia seemed to be having a moment and well, Hope had more than her fair share of those. So, she planned on doing her best to comfort the other girl, "I know you've probably heard this a million times by now, but it'll all work out. Things will be never be the same, and you will always hold the time you lived in close to your heart, but you'll grow to like the time now and even feel a part of it." The last bit was more of Hope talking to herself trying to make herself truly believe she would eventually feel like she belonged here rather than a consistent outsider.
"Huh. Well, I’m sure most people in my life would have something to say about my life decisions. Not that I have too many people around to comment on those decisions."
"I--I'm sorry to hear that."
Tatia leaned into the touch, craving some sort of affection that calmed her. She may have been trying to adapt, but she’d learned how different customs were and frankly just wanted to be held for a moment to let it all sink in.
Hope embraced the other woman, she couldn't imagine being in her shoes. If she was struggling to get used to being two decades in the past, she couldn't even begin to fathom what Tatia was going through. "For what it's worth, you're doing quite a good job fitting in considering everything."

I'm beginning to realize I get fixated on a word or expression every few days. Today, it's apparently "tensed." I never realized I did this before I started rping again.
" Oh my god Did I do t h a t?”
Hope stepped out of her car and stared at the scene in front of her. "Are you okay?" she asked noticing the the girl's expression.
Tess laughed along with her, once again feeling glad to be home. “I’ll keep that in mind. He’s already had too much peace lately, I just love messing with him,” she commented, grinning. “Maybe I’ll place a stereo under his bed and start the music while he’s sleeping. So if you don’t see me around anymore, he probably killed me,” she added, only half joking.
She smiled when the girl admitted her trust, and the word ‘aunt’ didn’t fail to give her the familiar warm feeling; she hadn’t been part of a family for so long, and she cherished it more than she could express. “He sounds like a guy who could get you in a lot of trouble,” Tess commented with a sigh, pretending to be concerned about, then gave up and grinned. “He’s a keeper,” she added, bumping slightly against her shoulder. “Ah, forbidden love always tastes better, but please, don’t go for the whole Romeo and Juliet thing. Firstly, that book sucks, and secondly, it doesn’t really end all that well.”
"I’ll keep that in mind if you suddenly disappear." Hope chuckled. "Wait, you are staying around for a while right?" She asked suddenly more serious. She was almost fearful of the answer she would get, Tess just got here and Hope wasn’t ready to say goodbye again anytime soon.
Hope tensed as she pointed out Liam could mean trouble for her. She audibly sighed and began to laugh, once the woman beside her let on she was joking. “You are a terrible influence!” Hope joked as her smile widened.
"No worries, I have no plans for turning my life into a tragedy over a boy. I have to admit I’ve never read the book, but Leonardo DiCaprio is very pleasant on the eyes. Just saying.”
Ava chuckled at Hope’s joke, nodding in agreement. “It’s entirely possible,” she remarked, before walking over to her closet. “I am pretty fabulous.” She giggled after that, finding her own actions slightly alarming, as she was normally more low-key when it came to her ego.
A haughty hunter was a dead hunter.
"Hey now, I’ve had more than enough destruction tonight," Ava warned, her face contemplative as she reexamined the offer, getting up from the floor once she’d gotten the other girl’s blessing."Unless…you know of some people causing trouble. Then I could be down for something. You know I feel about the not-so-kind.” She walked over to Hope’s closet, rifling through her wardrobe, selecting two pieces—a top and a bottom—deciding to make due with her blood-soaked lingerie.
She could always go without it.
"Then again…it would defeat the purpose of me borrowing this very cute outfit from you." She huffed playfully, grinning. "What to do, what to do…"
Hope tensed as the other woman responded to her joke about her plans. She watched Ava’s expression carefully suddenly rethinking it, no longer sure if it had been a bit much or not.
She kept her eye’s glued on the other girl, even after her back was turned to shuffle through her wardrobe.
She finally relaxed noting the playful tone in Ava’s last comment. “How about something to eat while we decided what to do tonight or did you get your fill on blood tonight?” Hope questioned. “If you are hungry for food, just figure out what you want and I’ll order it while you are getting cleaned up.” Hope hadn’t eaten yet, but if the other woman didn’t want take out, she would just find something in the kitchen instead.
Elijah slowly shook his head. “Vegetables are good for you,” he said as he headed into the kitchen to get a few snacks. He headed back into the living room with a box of cookies. “Is this good enough?”
Hope was already sitting down on one of the end of the couch with a blanket wrapped around her legs. Hope had just turned on the TV when Elijah walked into the room. She smiled once she saw the box in his hands. “Good choice,” Hope praised as a reached out for the box of sweets.
"Your blanket is right there," Hope smiled and pointed to the blanket she left on draped on the arm of the couch opposite of her. "I wasn’t sure where you would want to sit, so I just left it there for you if you even want it."
"That bad, uh?" Tess asked with an apologetic smile. She could easily picture how extremely protective the hybrid was of his daughter, and she felt sorry for Hope, who had to endure it. She remembered what Elijah told her about Niklaus’ behavior with Rebekah throughout the centuries, and Tess couldn’t help wishing Hope wasn’t going through anything even remotely like that. "Although?" she asked with a curious smile, then watched as she used her powers to close the door. A good move, since the house was full of supernatural beings with supernatural hearing. "First, thanks for offering one weapon to use when I want to annoy your uncle, and second, a soundproof room is always a good idea," she agreed with a small nod and a brief laugh.
She listened as Hope spoke about the boy, then nodded slowly. “Well, me and your dad were never buddies, so your secret’s safe with me, peach,” she promised with a genuine smile. “And this Liam… what’s he like? Where did you meet him?” she asked, curious to know more of what was going on in her life.
Hope couldn't help but laugh at Tess' comment about annoying her uncle. "If Taylor Swift fails, go for the big guns with One Direction's first album, get's him every time." She joked with a mischievous smirk.
"I know you wouldn't tell, that's why I told you in the first place. I trust you, (Aunt?) Tess." Hope truly meant it, she did trust her. "He's great. He's a warlock, my age, a bit mischievous." Hope giggled at the last part, 'a bit' was a huge understatement. "He's also really nice, charming and then there is the whole forbidden love thing we've got going on. I still haven't decided if that makes it more exciting or foolish, I'm leaving toward exciting."
❝If I make you breakfast will you please get up?!❞
"I was going to get up and get something to eat anyways, but now that you offered I want chocolate pancakes with fruit." Hope said as she got up off the bed and stood beside it, "What are you waiting for?"
❝ No, I need you to promise me. I don’t know what’s out here. I really don’t want you to get hurt, okay?❞
"I'm not sure if I'm flattered for your concern over my well being or worried about what I've got myself into."
Tess laughed at her remark, not taking any offense in it; if anything, she was amused by the comment, as true as it was. “What d’you mean, I’m twenty four,” sshe replied with a scandalized look, which soon morphed into a grin. “But yes, Elijah’s not the one to talk about being old,” she agreed without trouble. He was twice her age after all. “Besides, age isn’t about a number, it’s about how young you feel inside. In that, I’m definitely younger than him.” When she spoke about her powers, Tess watched her, catching the signs of what she interpreted as discomfort, as if talking about it wasn’t something that sat well with her. “Well, I think it looks cool. Not everything needs a purpose, you can do that without any reason, just because you like it, or you can avoid doing it all together. Your powers, your rules, don’t ever let people tell you otherwise.” She could imagine the pressure that was put on the girl constantly, what with lineage, a feeling Tess wasn’t a stranger to. “I’ve mostly been in Shangai, these past few years. Stunning city. I’ve tried to learn Chinese, but with very lousy results,” she admitted with a laugh. “As far as cute strangers, there’s been a couple, but none that stuck around. And what about you? Has Niklaus already scared some poor guy off?” Tess had never really been a fan of the hybrid, but she’d changed her mind about him after seeing how protective he was of Hope.
"It’d be easier to name those who he hasn’t scared off" Hope laughed bitterly. The list of people her father ran off was practically endless and it wasn’t limited to just romantic suitors; friends, trainers and random people she stopped for directions all fell on that list. The Mikaelson name made it hard enough to find friends of the supernatural kind, but when people find out her father is Klaus Mikaelson they typically run for the hills. "Although," Hope paused, realizing her door was still open. She waved her hand toward it and waited for it to close before she spoke again. "Sorry, didn’t want anyone to overhear. My room has a spell cast on it, when the door and windows are shut it’s virtually sound proof, including to supernatural ears. Originally, Uncle Elijah had it cast to block out the sounds of my Taylor Swift collection, but it also comes in quite handy for moments like these.” Hope laughed. "Anyways, there has been one guy who has stuck it out even after Dad threatened him. His name is Liam, and well, most everyone is in the know right now that I’ve snuck out and seen him a few times against dad’s wishes but clearly Dad doesn’t know. It’s not serious yet, but I’m kind of hoping it will become something more and what Daddy doesn’t know, won’t hurt Liam."
