our 2026 summertime bingo is here!
that's right, the bingo is back :) most of the prompts are new and some of them might seem more difficult, but i hope everyone can enjoy it and get their bingo in time - which is from now until september 30th.
colorpicked from the painting Still life with a basket, grapes and apples by Mela Muter
link to a higher resolution of the bingo sheet
as always, try to do your own research, but donât hesitate to ask for recommendations for the poland-related challenges! Iâd be happy to link you some stuff.
send me an ask or tag me in your posts talking about your progress with the bingo! iâd love to see how you are faring with the tasks <3
i will be using the tag #letnie bingo for anything relating to it, feel free to follow or block it
good luck!
ok so this is another long shot but a few years ago there was a twitter post (in japanese i think?) that had measurememts for how to make this book stand thing out of cardboard that you could use to double up books and use up more space on shelves
back then i made a bunch of these but by now i lost the pic and dont know how to find the original post anymore
if it comes down to it i can just take one apart and get the measurements from there but i would be very grateful if anyone happens to have the original post or something similar??
don't mind how long it's been since i made this post, anyway i realized that i don't even need to take one apart to get the measurements when i can literally just unfold it and refold it /FACEPALM
so anyway here is the diagram for anyone else who is interested!!
this requires pretty big carboard pieces, if you have a really big box or something you can make it from one piece, but if you don't, you can also just make each of the pieces individually and then tape them together
and then in the end you put it together like this!!
and then when you make a bunch you can put them all next to each other and stack your books like crazy
EVERYONE START GETTING MORE USE OUT OF YOUR SPACE NOW!!!!
Started embroidary about a year ago and I absolutely love it! by 07roswal on reddit.
So a friend and I had some thoughts...
Say it with me: IT. IS NOT. ABOUT. THE FUCKING. KISS!!! Thatâs not why people are mad.
The Ending SUCKS because the WRITING SUCKS.
NO, I donât find the concept of âtHeY FiNd eACh oThEr IN eVerY uNivErSeâ beautiful.
1) Because they donât. Thereâs zero evidence that this is a recurring thing, thats 100% fandom copium- and even then they donât have any of their memories and arenât the same people. THATS. NOT. THEM. And it never will be because people are the sum of their experiences AND THEIR CHOICES. You donât take a comedy Christian satire and make the solution some Buddhist-esque reincarnation philosophy that requires an entirely new suspension of disbelief no one signed up for or wanted. Thatâs shit writing.
2) So not only does the finale spit on every theme it had prior regarding championing human choice as miraculous and the world being worth fighting for in all its flaws as it is- you are going to sit here and tell me that actually they never had any choice at all, so they decided to toss everything down the garbage disposal for the next life. That is, frankly, terrible, and nihilistic, and not at all sensible for this series.
Aziraphale and Crowley are a wonderful love story because they were on opposite sides and they CHOSE each other, and they CHOSE to love humans. They chose to be hedonistic and compassionate and selfish and âhumanâ as they were because they knew how to make choices. Their love has always been THEIR choice.
So how can you tell me that the ending is great because they sacrificed everything for humans to have free choice- which they already had by the way- and then say the ending is beautiful because Aziraphale and Crowley are Predestined to love each other in every reality. How is that not massively hypocritical to the concept they are trying to sell us last minute out of nowhere? Is predestiny not the antithesis of what they asked for by your own definition?!
How is taking their 6000 years of choosing each other over and over again, and summing it down to a deterministic soul bond, more âfree willâ or beautiful than them literally defying cosmic powers just to stay together and eat dinner at the Ritz on a casual Tuesday?!
People act like their life was just complete suffering, but they were perfectly happy on their own earth. Season 1 left them exactly where they wanted to be!!! Together with the Earth. It was so EASY to circle back to that, all they had to do was write it, and no one would have questioned it because thatâs THEM and what they want to be doing. If Adam defied Satan for humanity, why would Jesus Christ- whoâd already died once for the salvation of humanity- not tell God to be merciful?! Why not have the humans make the choice, rather than Crowley- which is another hypocritical move because heâs making choices for them just like heâs telling god not to!
How do we have any evidence this new world doesnât have a god? Trust? In the woman who just destroyed the world after having a casual laugh with Satan? Okay. They didnât trade their existence for freedom, they traded the apple of knowledge for ignorance.
The fact is, is that the world that championed choice and love was the one they came from, not the one they sacrificed themselves for- because choice and love doesnât mean there are no complications, it means you take a stand and you do what you want anyways.
This dystopian nightmare of an ending where they let the universe die and donât know each other was never a thought in anyoneâs mind until it came into existence with the most shallow and contrived justifications of all time ten minutes before close, and thatâs because itâs out of character nonsense.
And Iâm sick of hearing âthey were always gonna be humanâ âit was always gonna be this wayâ like there was rational grounds for it beforehand. No it wasnât, and it certainly didnât need to be. At most it was everyoneâs joke of a worst case scenario, and thatâs what they decided to give us- probably after a quick google search to find out what would piss everyone off the most.
This was Neil Gaiman and his team of horror writers, who probably didnât even consider the source material, throwing a temper tantrum and abusing the fandom for liking Terry Pratchettâs divine optimism more than his petty ass. They designed every ridiculous contingency in this horrible script to justify their own mess.
The Ineffable Husbands were fine as they were. Even as a Demon and an Angel they were already âhumanâ enough, THATS what was funny. What the hell is so great about being mortal and not being able to have a free table whenever they want, and having to deal with real world shit like taxes, and homophobia, and Dying?
Enough Dyinâ. No Maur DYINâ. Itâs itâs-ITS NOT ON!!!
The two were horribly out of character this entire film. All the film did was spit on the world building and take the magic out of it.
Well.. happy Barricade Day!

Without wanting to jump too deep into, like, moral and ethical commentary on this matter or whether theyâre happier or not now, thinking about the (depending on how you look at it) replacement and/or reincarnation of Aziraphale and Crowley with the human versions, I feel that it really diminishes the appeal of their relationship from a narrative/viewership perspective.
To me, what was so beautiful about the relationship is that by any reasonable standard it should not have occurred. Heaven and Hell were diametrically opposed in the extreme, but through shared experiences, Aziraphale and Crowley built a deep love for each other and for humanity, growing past what was expected of them and building something truly unique all on their own. We never got to see that growth through to completion.
There were so much narrative potential there to explore: what it looks like for characters with this type of past living with this kind of expectation to come together and grieve together and grow together. I would think most of us expected that, and in my opinion, it was stolen from us.
These new versions donât have the same history, they donât have the same challenges and without wanting to diminish the human romance, it does make the story a lot more conventional and a lot less interesting. The romance side, in particular, becomes very predictable. They meet, they go on some dates, they get married, they retire. The complexity is gone, the depth feels gone. If there is depth for this other couple, we donât really get to know about it. The reward for the lessons Aziraphale and Crowley, specifically, experienced doesnât manifest.
"for my money, the really big one will be all of Us against all of Them."
SO SPITTING MAD ABOUT THIS i had to edit and repost from x/bsky
am i the only one who remembers this good omens sequel idea that was laid so beautifully at our feet in the year of our lord 1990? that was important enough to be quoted near verbatim in S1? the one where mortals of the world unite cuz we have nothing to lose but our chains??
"ohhh you're upset about the finale because you only care about aziracrow you don't care about the bigger picture" nah man don't pin that on me. i am 40 or 50 years old and i do not need this. you can't gaslight me into forgetting that one of the fundamental charms of GO is that aziraphale & crowley are actually very bad at saving the world, they cock up pretty much everything they try to do and it's only through serendipity (or implied providence??) that their actions end up facilitating HUMANS' efforts to save ourselves. you can't gaslight me into thinking that the universe getting destroyed & recreated on a whim with absolutely zero HUMAN input or agency is a happy ending, or that it's at all in keeping with the spirit of the original story.
the concept of the multiverse got traction in genre fiction via comics where it was introduced as a PLOT DEVICE to reconcile timeline inconsistencies (and an unnecessary one at that; the way to deal with "timeline inconsistencies" in long form serial fantasy is to IGNORE THEM). writers should have never started relying on the multiverse so heavily as a storyline foundation (MCU i am looking at YOU) because the logical end result is to make stories MEANINGLESS! what's the point of fighting for anything if you can just escape to another universe where things turn out better?! "we found each other in every universe" bitch i care about THIS ONE! how does that treacly platitude teach ANYONE anything meaningful or relatable or transferable about real life?!
stand UP! i want the good omens sequel where HUMANITY rises up against this bullshit system and A&C are there to cheer us on. and if you think "oh there's no way A&C could ever have been happy in this universe, this was the only solution" get out of my way cuz if that's the limp attitude you bring when it's a WORLD OF FANTASY FICTION WHERE LITERALLY ANYTHING CAN HAPPEN i do NOT need you around me in this world.
This post on Twitter kinda sums up the entirety of what's wrong with Good Omens 3 - they destroyed all the magic. They destroyed that magical, whimsical, optimistic universe and replaced it with bleak reality, a world without magic. Before the finale, we could visit all these places and believe that they were there, read ancient history and believe that they'd been there, blame our computer troubles on Newt, take things as prophecies from Agnes Nutter...and now? We're left with emptiness.
Look, we will never know what Terry Pratchett would have wanted, obviously. But to me, his books were always about making the best out of the world you have. You can wish for things to be better all you want, but in the end you have to roll up your sleeves and do the work and make the world a brighter place. You don't just get to restart the whole thing in the way you would prefer. There's only working with what you've got. Pratchett books are always about the everyday people that make life better with everyday decisions, not about the heros and kings and whatnots who save the world with one heroic deed. And I always found that so comforting and kind and helpful. And GO3 negated that completely.
So, no. To me, it did not feel like Pratchett at all.
You think âoh it would be useful to learn how to identify my thrifted yarn and clothingâ and before you know it youâve been recruited by fiber witches giving out their spells willy nilly, again
unfortunately i have a tiktok and americans just discovered kompot (they call it "fruit water" and eat the strawberries with chopsticks) and rosĂłĆ (they call it "chicken tea") wtf is going onđ
Ok I had some time to process some things so here's my thoughts about the Finale.
The thing is, I hope the Good Omens fandom goes the âthe finale was a fever dream and never happenedâ route and keeps writing Aziraphale and Crowley as they always have: an angel and a demon who are a bit awkward, and very weird, who love each other and the world. Not because the way their story goes in the finale was inherently bad, but because it takes away what made them so interesting in the first place. The fact that they are, indeed, an angel and a demon who love each other and the world.
You know what's my favourite kind of Good Omens fanfiction? The Outsider POV ones. Especially the ones where people find a refuge, a home in Aziraphaleâs bookshop, a safe space from a hostile world, something we all would like to find, honestly. A place where you can stay however long you want, just donât buy anything! A place where the bookshop owner somehow always knows what you need, and makes the best hot chocolate, and he also happens to have a big scary snake roaming in the shop?? And then, if you stay long enough, you might meet his cool looking⊠Friend? Lover? Criminal who works for him? Who knows. They are fun together though. And they tell the funniest stories! Stories about ancient times, modern times, and they tell them so well that it looks like they lived them⊠but thatâs impossible right? Right??
So yeah. Keep writing the good stories, fandom, and letâs pretend that whole thing never happened. Thereâs no fun in that.
i really want people who are sad about it to not be sad. listen, I'm holding your hand unironically. Don't let this abusive man abuse you. It's not actually his story, or Amazon's story, and what they filmed was just a shitty hate fic. The 2019 series and the novel are all that matter beyond your personal favorite fan fics. Please go forth blessed and free of this mediocre jerk's narcissistic hateful tantrum.
