where does the story happen? like when I look at asra/nadia I feel it's somewhere like arabia, but when I see jules I think of england (or is it going to be a country you guys invented?)

The story takes place in a fantasy universe. Most of the setting inspiration is drawn from the history of the Tarot—thought to be originally from Egypt or Arabia in its earliest form, and brought to Renaissance Italy where it first started taking form as the card deck we recognize today. The city the characters live in is close to a Mediterranean-like sea, and probably a crossroads for a lot of different people.

For the fashion in this world, what were the key factors? Like the main inspirations, time periods and cultures?

The setting is based mostly (and loosely) on the periods/places in which the tarot originated, but considering it’s fantasy, the rules are pretty lax. Inspiration for the characters’ fashion has varied from ancient Rome to modern runways. Here’s a few examples:
