I'm torn and conflicted with these feelings and emotions

In the deepest trenches of my heart still ignites a flicker of hope that everything would still be back to what it was before.

These memories keep haunting me in my sleep, frequent dreams of what could be for us, making me wish that can we please share the same path , the same dreams again.

I am lost in this endless void that I thought I have already conquered.

Maybe I have not moved on with as to what I keep telling myself because it still pains me to see you and that a single thought makes me long for your warmth even more.

This may sound cliché but you were my sunshine, my home, my comfort , looking at you completes my day, completes me. You were my everything but certainly I am not yours.

Eventually change took over you and I do not blame you for that, change is constant you always kept telling me but love, why didn't you hold on to me? Why did you let them cloud your judgment, your decisions they were inexorable I could not do anything anymore to change your mind, why did you let them push you to someone if you truly love me? Or did you really love me like you told me so? Was it just me believing, keeping everything on fire until it lasted?

You have changed, Not in every aspect but some

The boy that I loved is still there, I can see it

But in the end the dreams and hopes that we built together are now memories of what we used to be.

It isn't what we left behind that breaks me It's what we could've built had we stayed
