Yeah this was scary, so I was called to see a febrile patient in the psych ward where I work, power went down as soon as I ordered the exams I needed, we only had 3 working computers in the ward being powered by the generators, in the afternoon we got a directive telling us to use only one computer if we can. Patient didn't do some of the exams I ordered because radiology was only working for absolute urgent cases, they're fine and I started empirical antibiotics but it reminded me how dependent on technologies we are here. Also have a kit with cash, lighter/matches, flashlight, and powerbanks! I had none of those and made me more anxious

Came back from the dead just to say that the fight sequence in El Toro de Piedra with Juleka song in the background was the best fighting sequence in Miraculous, and just for that this episode is in my top 5.

I'm back! And I've graduated med school, yayyy!

Anyway, I was not happy with the ending of season 5. I believe that Adrien should be told the truth about himself and about who Shadowmoth really is. Anyway, I still hope that the next season will give us that, but here's my take on the aftermath of all the events. Hope you enjoy it, and leave a comment, I love reading your opinions! His father was a hero, they told him. When Ladybug was alone and on the brink of being ultimately defeated, he took on the mantle of Chat Noir and sacrificed his life to save hers. His father was not a good person Adrien thought sometimes, when his image was used against his will, or when his father threatened him to remove him from school for the minor slip, or even when he terrified him with his outbursts, making Adrien freeze in place and never daring to go against his wishes. But how can his father be a hero and a bad person at the same time? That’s impossible!

Something feels wrong...

“Is everything okay?” Nathalie asks him in concern, sitting right in front of him, and Adrien can’t stop thinking about how odd that fact is, even though she has always been seated there at least once a week, for the past twelve months.

Something feels wrong. Adrien suddenly drops his fork at the Dupain-Cheng’s dining table eliciting strange looks from everyone in the room.

Marinette’s light touch on his leg snaps him out of his thoughts, their gazes making contact for a brief second, just enough to distract him from whatever was fogging his mind.

“Yes, my fork just slipped from my hand”. He hears a soft and loving chuckle coming from his side and everyone returns to their conversation. Something about the most recent measures Mayor Bustier has approved for Paris.  Adrien looks around the lively room. Nathalie is sitting in front of him, laughing at something Monsieur Dupain has said. Monsieur Dupain has told him many times to just treat him as Tom, however, but abandoning such a formality seems to be almost impossible for Adrien. Amelie is sitting right next to Nathalie, she is looking adoringly at Felix, while the latter is seemingly hypnotised by whatever Kagami is telling him. They seem to be lost in their own little universe. Madame Dupain-Cheng has gone to the kitchen to make some final touches on the desserts, and Marinette is sitting at his right, her leg is constantly grazing his own leg, and even after all this time, he still feels an exciting warmth spreading through his body every time they touch.

Everyone seems to be having a good time, as per usual at the Dupain-Cheng’s residency.

Their home provides a cozy and safe space Adrien has missed for so many years. His own cold manor, where he felt like a living statue for so long represented a stark contrast from this scene. A sharp pain suddenly stabs his brain, causing him to wince quietly. No one seems to have noticed his discomfort, except for Marinette, who silently expresses her concern. He smiles at her in an attempt to dissipate her attention and she smiles back at him. He loves how effortlessly they can communicate with each other, without muttering a single word.

               “… The preparations for the one-year anniversary of Shadowmoth’s defeat next week are running without any incidents…”. Everyone rapidly goes quiet as Nadia Chamack updates her viewers of all the details for the parade celebrating the end of Shadowmoth’s terror. It has been one year since that incident. Since his father took on what was supposed to be Adrien’s responsibility and traded his life for the safety of every Parisian citizen. Adrien thought that the guilt would fade away with time, but that was never the case. In fact, it only seemed to grow every day, and more so as they approached the fatidical date.

His headache is getting worse. Adrien regrets ever thinking that low about the man who sacrificed so much for him, it only adds to the guilt he has been feeling. His father was only protecting him. He was trying his best to make sure Adrien has the best possible future, and Adrien understands that now.

               He feels a rush of air as Marinette shoots up from her seat. “May I be excused? I need to go to the toilet!”. There’s an urgent tone in her voice and a stiffness that doesn’t match with a simple urgency to go to the bathroom. He makes a mental note to check on her later. She always acts a bit strange every time this subject arises. Adrien never really understood the reason, perhaps she just feels guilty for having both her parents around and he doesn’t. She has mentioned before that she doesn’t want to make him feel as if she’s rubbing that fact on his face by having him over all the time to hang out at her house, and although in some moments of irrational jealousy, back when the loss of both his parents was still fresh, he might have briefly felt that way, he knows for a fact that that was never her intention.

               As Marinette runs upstairs, he feels Felix’s brief glances at him. Nathalie and Amelie are also looking at each other in visible discomfort, but all this strange air in the room vanishes as Madame Cheng brings the decadent chocolate mousse decorated with raspberries and Monsieur Dupain quickly turns off the TV.

Once again, everyone breaks out from whatever spell they were trapped in, and dinner goes back to its usual cheerful mood. Marinette climbs down the stairs and joins them once again. Adrien too engages in the general conversation, but something inside him keeps tugging at his subconscious. Something feels wrong…

Me, a portuguese, watching Destruction and thinking Monarch was going to transform into one of these at the end of the episode.

This episode is a lot more dialogue-heavy than the last one, it’s not nearly as easy to tell what’s going on from just the visuals. Still, it looks like we’ve got:

-Su Han confrontation with Ladybug and Chat Noir.

-Marinette missing the kwamis.

-Adrien confronting his father.

-Ladybug and Chat Noir using the Space transformations to fly to London in an attempt to confront Felix.

-Adrien attempting to get closer to Marinette, even attempting la bise when he meets up with her at school

-Tomoe and Gabriel officially forming an Alliance - and THE Alliance, which is a sort of ring version of a Smartwatch. 

There’s a lot of stuff in this episode which has NEEDED to happen. I’m looking forward to the translations coming out so I can more fully understand what’s going on!

I wouldn't call whatever happened between Adrien and Gabriel a confrontation. I mean it took a lot of courage for Adrien to tell his father that he didn't want to be a model anymore, but Gabriel didn't even look at him, he just said "ok" . It was very weird, still don't know what to think of it.

Hi! So umm I came across this post yesterday which could basically be summed up as the sun Vs subs debate??

I...actually prefer the English dub to the French one, and I just am kind of tired of hearing people say that the French dub is superior and all the French sub supremacy stuff.

I mean don't get me wrong, I actually love the French dub too, but I've seen people mocking the eng dub so much and even the English VAs and it just rubs me in the wrong way. Some of them are even rude and really just go all "Oh, the voices are so cheesy in English, the French dub is waaaay better" and I just feel disheartened:( I mean I think I have got attached to the english dub and guess that makes me defensive sometimes??

All of this is ruining the French dub for me, just like the fandom ruined Lukanette and Luka with all the salt. I desperately WANT to enjoy the french dub, but I just feel bitter at times, I guess? I don't know...

I wish people would stop being pretentious acting as though the French dub is "superior". I mean okay, maybe it's the original canon dub, but can they please stop making people who like the English dub more feel embarrassed for liking it? (Though I think I may be the only person who prefers English. Lol)

I might...not be the best person to ask that jfjd because I largely prefer the French dub to the English one 😅 I'm French so it probably explains why, but by being able to speak the two languages I can really feel the difference and I do believe the French dub suits way more the characters than the English one haha. But also, I heard that Thomas Astruc is there for the recording of the French dub and can supervise the VA, and I'm not sure he's there for the English dub recording (otherwise lots of traveling lol and joining by video sounds unpractical but I could be wrong) which might explain it too as he can direct the French VA to use the tones of voice the writers have in mind.

Now don't get me wrong, the English isn't bad just because I think the French is better to my liking. But they don't give off the same vibes and it sometimes changes widely the way a character is perceived or acts. An example is Chat Noir: when he jokes around and plays his Chat Noir persona, the French VA makes him sound playful, silly and overexaggerating his acts which makes it obvious he's not being serious. The English one however makes him sound a lot more pretentious and full of self confidence about it. So it's very different, you either prefer one or the other and personally I find that the French one suits Chat Noir's character way more, but maybe someone will think the opposite. It's just a question of personal preferences to be honest

I don't think most people saying French dub supremacy necessarily mean it in a way to shit on those who like the English dub or are being super serious about it, it's a question of tastes and they often share their view on why they vibe with a dub more than another. Like most people will say that Plagg French dub sucks and Plagg English dub all the way, while I way prefer French Plagg, so we have stupid debates often on discord (or even Tumblr) about it but no one is being really intense, it's a "fake war". And it's often kinda the same with the "French dub Vs English dub" debate, it's not really deep most of the time

That being said don't feel silly for liking the English dub, it's not a bad one and tbh everyone is free to prefer whatever sub there is, even if it's the Portuguese 😛. And there's a time and place to share these opinions or throw them at someone of course. I'm sorry some comments made you feel stupid for liking it, and if it helps I saw lots of people being excited to get the Ephemeral English dub and gushing about it, whether they preferred the French dub or not 😊 But yeah just like people will prefer to watch an anime in Japanese dub with subs and will prefer the Japanese dub to the English one or else, people in ML will tend to prefer the French one. And both will act like it's superior because it's the original haha

… You realise that:

a) Vaccines aren’t cures, which are therapeutic, they’re vaccines, which are prophylactic. That’s why we don’t call them cures.

b) You can actually vaccinate against a bacterial infection, a vaccine is just something which trains your immune system. In fact, a new vaccine against pneumococcal bacteria was just approved for use earlier this year, and we’ve had vaccines against bacterial diseases like anthrax and tuberculosis for years now. The reason we talk so much about vaccines against viral diseases is that, unlike bacterial diseases, it’s a lot more difficult to treat a virus once you’ve caught it.

This is … like, I’m not trying to make you feel bad here, but this is stuff you should have learned when you were kid. This is literally the most basic stuff.

Also tetanus is a bacterial infection, caused by clostridium tetani, other vaccines against bacterial infections are the vaccine against haemophilus influenzae b, neisseria meningitidis, pneumococcus, tuberculosis. These are all nasty bacteria that can be extremely deathly if they manage to infect someone, and they had been a catastrophe in the past, the reason you don't hear much about them now is because of the vaccines.

Gosh people, at least know the basics of what you're talking about before spitting bullsh*t against vaccines.
